Badminton national camp bears the brunt of Covid-19

As top Indian shuttlers&nbsp;were unwilling to comply with standard operating procedures prescribed by the Sports Authority of India, the Badminton Association&nbsp;was forced to cancel the national camp on Thursday.&nbsp;As per the SOPs, all the players selected for the camp had to stay at the academy in a bio-secure bubble. However,&nbsp;star shuttlers&nbsp;were reluctant to stay at the site of the camp and&nbsp;wanted to come to the academy from their homes. The camp was scheduled to begin from September 7 after top badminton stars including Saina&nbsp;Nehwal, PV Sindhu&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kidambi&nbsp;Srikanth&nbsp;expressed their willingness to travel to Denmark for the upcoming Thomas and&nbsp;Uber Cup Finals.&nbsp;BAI was due to pick the squad on September 17 but despite the camp being cancelled,&nbsp;a 20-member squad was announced on September 10.&nbsp;

Here is when the Indian badminton stars will return to action

After over 5 months of forced break due to Covid-19, Indian badminton stars are all set to return to action soon. Top shuttlers&nbsp;including Saina&nbsp;Nehwal, PV Sindhu&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kidambi&nbsp;Srikanth&nbsp;have expressed their willingness to travel to Denmark for the&nbsp;Thomas and&nbsp;Uber Cup Finals due to be played in the first week of October. According to a report in the Times of India, the players have given their nod and the same has been communicated to the Badminton Association of India. The Indian contingent is likely to travel to Aarhus&nbsp;in the 3rd or 4th week of September and will undergo a mandatory quarantine. They will stay in a bio-secure bubble during the tournament. Interestingly, the government of Denmark has already mailed&nbsp;the visa-related documents to BAI.
