This tragedy follows a similar incident in September when a two-year-old girl was rescued after being trapped in a 35-foot borewell in Dausa&rsquo;s Bandikui area for 18 hours.

A total of 14 teams of the National Disaster Response Force have been deployed in West Bengal to assist in rescue and relief operations.

The landfall of severe cyclonic storm 'Remal' commenced on Sunday evening between West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts with an intensity of 110 to 120 kmph, gusting to 135 kmph, the Met office said.
The landfall process of Remal, with its centre about 30 km from the coastline at 8.30pm, will continue for about four hours, it said.
"The landfall process of severe cyclonic storm 'Remal' commenced over the adjacent coasts of West Bengal and Bangladesh between Sagar Island and Khepupara close to the southwest of Mongla in the neighbouring country," the Met said.
Gale wind speed reaching 110 to 120 kmph, gusting to 135 kmph, was prevailing along and off West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts and north Bay of Bengal and is likely to continue for the next six hours and decrease thereafter, the Met added.&nbsp;

Modi's principal secretary P K Mishra held a meeting in the South Block to discuss immediate relief measures and the decision was taken there, an official statement said.

The government on Monday decided to immediately dispatch search and rescue teams of the National Disaster Response Force, medical teams and relief material to earthquake-hit Turkey following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's instructions to offer all possible assistance to the country.
Modi's principal secretary P K Mishra held a meeting in the South Block to discuss immediate relief measures and the decision was taken there, an official statement said.
Two teams of the NDRF comprising 100 personnel with specially trained dog squads and necessary equipment are ready to be flown to the earthquake-hit area for search and rescue operations.
Medical teams are also being readied with trained doctors and paramedics with essential medicines, it said.
Relief material will be dispatched in coordination with the Turkish government and the Indian embassy in Ankara and Consulate General office in Istanbul, it added.
The meeting was attended by cabinet secretary, representatives of ministries of home affairs, defence, external affairs, civil aviation, health and family welfare besides the NDMA and the NDRF, the statement&nbsp;

Tamil Nadu government has announced closure of all educational institutions on December 9 in at least eight districts including Chennai, Chengapattu, Kanchipuram, Viluppuram, Cuddalore, Ranipet, Vellore, Tiruvallur districts, as per multiple reports.

It has also predicted heavy rain in Tamil Nadu between December 8 and December 10.
Meanwhile, rescue preparations have been made by NDRF as it stays on alert in 10 districts which are likely to face destruction.

Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and officials rescued five people who were then transferred to a hospital in an injured condition. 3-4 more people were believed to be trapped underneath the debris.

The workers have been identified as Bacchu Singh, Pintu and Suraj Kumar Sahni, while the rickshaw puller has been identified as Satish (38), a resident of Sardar Colony, Rohini Sector-16, police said.The three men who fell inside first are private contractual employees who were working on MTNL lines at the time of the incident.
According to police, the information about the incident was received at Samaypur Badli police station around 6.30 pm.
Police personnel rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Fire department officials and a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were also part of the rescue operation.
It is suspected that all four were stuck in an iron net inside the sewer beneath the MTLN lines. The probable cause of death is inhalation of toxic gas. The men did not have any protective gear on when they entered the sewer.
