'This happened by mistake...If there is some misunderstanding, please forgive me...I will never do anything like this...,&rsquo; Nana Patekar clarified.

Veteran actor Nana Patekar made headlines after a video of him smacking a fan who tried to take a selfie with him on sets of his film surfaced online.&nbsp;
Now, the actor has issued a clarification.
Nana Patekar said, &lsquo;A video is going viral where I have hit a boy. Though this sequence is a part of our film, we had one rehearsal...We were scheduled to have a second rehearsal. The director told me to begin. We were about to begin when the boy in the video came in. I didn't know who he was, I thought he was one of our crew so I slapped him as per the scene and I told him to leave. Later, I came to know that he was not a part of the crew. So, I was going to call him back but he ran away. Maybe his friend shot the video. I have never said no to anybody for a photo. I don't do this...This happened by mistake...If there is some misunderstanding, please forgive me...I will never do anything like this...&rsquo;
Earlier, filmmaker Anil Sharma also issued a clarification and said that the video, which emerged online, was shot from his film &lsquo;Journey&rsquo;.
Anil Sharma said, &lsquo;I have just come to know about this news. I was watching the same video just now. Nana has not hit anyone, rather that is a shot from my film. We were filming it on the road in the middle of Banaras, where a boy who comes near Nana has to be hit on the head. Shooting was going on and Nana also hit him.&rsquo;
He added, &lsquo;But the crowd gathered there recorded it on their mobile cameras and then leaked the shot of the film. Now, Nana is being projected as a negative and rude actor on social media, which is completely wrong...I would request that the fans understand the truth of this video. This is a shot from the film. Nana has not hit anyone.&rsquo;

Veteran actor Nana Patekar, who recently made a comeback to films after being accused of sexual misconduct during the #MeToo movement in India, was caught on camera slapping a fan.
A video that is being widely circulated online shows a fan approaching the actor for a selfie, and getting hit on the head. He is then dragged away by presumably a security personnel.
Nana Patekar is reportedly shooting in Varanasi for the film &lsquo;Journey&rsquo;. It was recently reported that the actor has been roped in to play a pivotal part in the film which is directed by &lsquo;Gadar&rsquo; and &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo; fame Anil Sharma and also stars his son Utkarsh Sharma.
Social media users are in shock by Nana Patekar&rsquo;s reaction.
&lsquo;That was too hard,&rsquo; a social media user wrote. &lsquo;Not cool,&rsquo; added another.
&lsquo;That&rsquo;s so rudeeee,&rsquo; a third user wrote.
&lsquo;Ridiculous, what was the need to hit the person so hard?!?!? Ugh, I actually feel grossed out watching this,&rsquo; a comment read.

Nana Patekar was last seen in the film &lsquo;The Vaccine War&rsquo;, directed by Vivek Agnihotri. It is follow-up to his smash hit &lsquo;The Kashmir Files&rsquo;.
The film tanked at the box office.
This film marked the actor&rsquo;s first theatrical release since 2018 after Rajinikanth-starrer &lsquo;Kaala&rsquo;.

Nana Patekar, who has a massive fan base for his 'Welcome' character Uday Shetty, opened up about not being a part of 'Welcome to the Jungle'.
At the trailer launch of his forthcoming film 'The Vaccine War', the actor said that the makers probably didn't approach him as they felt he's too old and jaded.&nbsp;
He said, 'I am not a part of it, maybe they think hum bohot puraane ho gaye hai (I have become dated).'
Gesturing at Vivek Agnihotri, who shared the stage with the actor, he said, 'He doesn&rsquo;t think I have become so old, so he cast me in his film. It&rsquo;s that simple.'
Nana Patekar, who will be returning to the big screen after 5 years, also spoke about his absence and said that the industry never shuts its door and people keep offering work but one needs to know if they want to do the role.
He said, 'The industry was never closed for me. The industry never closes its doors on you. If you want to do good work, they&rsquo;ll come to you and ask you. You have to decide if you can do it, if you want to do it or not. I feel this is my first and last chance, and utni hi jaan daalni chaahiye usmein. Everybody gets work (here), it depends on you if you want to do it or not.'
Nana Patekar was a part of the comedy film franchise since its inception in 2007. He appeared as Don Uday Shetty in 'Welcome' and 'Welcome Back' (2015).
Nana Patekar's 'The Vaccine War' is slated to release on September 28.

At the ceremony, the actor touched Nana Patekar&rsquo;s feet to take his blessings and also kissed him on the cheek.

In the clip, Ranveer, who was seated among the audience, is seen standing up and saluting the people present there. He can then be seen gesturing to swing a bat in the air. He touches the stairs leading to the stage.
Ranveer touched Nana Patekar&rsquo;s feet on stage to take his blessings. He also hugged the veteran actor and kissed him on his cheek. The duo shook hands before Ranveer received his award.
