A day after actor Alia Bhatt slammed a news portal for &lsquo;invasion of privacy&rsquo;, Mumbai Police has asked her to file a complaint. According to news agency ANI, the actor has told police that her PR team is in touch with the concerned portal.
On Wednesday, ANI tweeted, &lsquo;Mumbai Police has contacted actor <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/alia-bhatt-slams-media-outlet-for-invading-her-privacy-requests-mumbai-police-to-take-action-1676995570356">Alia Bhatt</a> &amp; asked her to file a complaint in the matter where a photographer clicked her private pictures &amp; these pictures were published on an online portal. The actor has told police that her PR team is in touch with the concerned portal: Police.&rsquo;
A media portal shared pictures of Alia sitting inside her living room, which was clicked from an adjoining building. Criticising the incident, Alia expressed shock on Instagram and tagged police.
She had written, &lsquo;Are you kidding me? I was at my house having a perfectly normal afternoon sitting in my living room when I felt something watching me... I looked up and saw two men on the terrace of my neighbouring building with a camera right at me! In what world is this okay and allowed? This is a gross invasion of someone's privacy! There's a line you just cannot cross and it's safe to say all lines were crossed today!&rsquo;
Following her post, several actors questioned celebrities' right to privacy. Alia's mother, actor Soni Razdan added, &lsquo;Shocked and dismayed at this blatant disregard for a person's privacy. Are we really turning into 'that country' now? Where all our cultural norms simply cease to exist when it comes to 'getting the picture'? Hope someone can address this and fast!&rsquo;

Mumbai Police on December 26 arrested two Russian YouTubers for allegedly breaking into the Imperial Twin Towers complex in Tardeo to film a stunt video.
The duo, identified as Roman Proshin and Maksim Shcherbakow reportedly told police that they had walked up to the 58th floor of one of the towers and intended to come down from the outside as part of their stunt.

The Cuffe Parade police filed a first information report (FIR) against him, two other persons, and the online streaming platform Netflix on charges of copyright rules violation following a complaint by a producer.&nbsp; &nbsp; In his complaint, Ashvin Gidwani, the renowned theatre producer, alleged that 12 jokes from the show were copied from the script of an earlier show produced by him and performed by Das in 2010.&nbsp; &nbsp; According to the official from Cuffe Parade police station, Gidwani mentioned that when he viewed a promo of a new show of Vir Das on Netflix in January 2020, he realised that some content had allegedly been copied from the previous show with a few changes.&nbsp; &nbsp; A case was filed against Das, two other persons, and Netflix service under relevant provisions of the Copyright Act on November 4, PTI quoted the official as saying.&nbsp; &nbsp; An investigation is underway and no arrest has been made so far.&nbsp; &nbsp; According to PTI, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, a right-wing group approached the Bengaluru police on Monday and sought cancellation of <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/vir-das-tests-positive-for-covid-19-goes-into-deep-thought-about-considering-embroidery-1641871383329">Vir Das</a>&rsquo; show, alleging that it will hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus and show India in a bad light.&nbsp;

The woman had alleged in 2020 that the incident took place when she was working as a junior dancer on a project with Acharya, and had gone to his office to collect dues worth ₹25,000.
However, while allegedly refusing to pay her, Acharya showed her pornographic material on his laptop.
She also said that Acharya had caused hurdles in her work and that her membership of Indian Cine and TV Choreographers Association was terminated after he became the general secretary.

The Supreme Court Thursday transferred to CBI the investigation against former police commissioner of Mumbai Param Bir Singh over the allegations of misconduct and corruption.
A very murky affair is going on amid echelons of power on who should investigate the matter, a bench of Justices S K Kaul and M M Sundresh said.
The apex court said a thorough investigation is required to regain faith of people in the state police. 
The bench said: "We are unable to accept the contention that an FIR is registered by those who had complaints against the petitioner. We are of the view that state itself should have allowed CBI to carry the investigation.
"We are of the prima facie view that there is some concerted effort which needs the investigation by CBI. What is the truth, who is at fault how does such scenario come to prevail is something which investigation must get into. CBI must hold an impartial inquiry into all these aspects".
The top court said it was not commenting on merits of the allegations as it does not want the investigation to be influenced in any manner.
"We do not want the investigation to be influenced by the observation of this court. The High Court has treated this as a service dispute which it is not and thus we set aside the HC verdict. We allow the appeal and direct the probe into 5 FIRs be transferred to CBI with all records.
"Such transfer to be completed within one week and all officials to extend full cooperation to CBI to try arrive at the truth," the bench said.

The two judge bench hearing the case while calling&nbsp;for a thorough and impartial inquiry by the CBI&nbsp;said that a fair probe may regain their confidence in the Maharashtra police.
The court also said that it was not commenting on the merits&nbsp;of the allegation against&nbsp;Param&nbsp;Bir&nbsp;Singh&nbsp;as it does not want the investigation to be influenced in any manner.

The Mumbai police had registered an FIR against unidentified persons following complaints that doctored photographs of hundreds of Muslim women were uploaded for &lsquo;auction&rsquo; on the app called `Bulli Bai'. The app was hosted on the open-source software platform GitHub.
While there was no actual `auction' or `sale', the purpose of the app seemed to be to humiliate and intimidate the targeted women, many of whom are active social media users.
The Mumbai cyber police station has also registered a case against the app's unidentified developers and Twitter handles which promoted it.

A local court on Tuesday remanded a 21-year-old engineering student, arrested in the 'Bulli Bai' app case, in Mumbai Police's custody till January 10.
The Mumbai cyber police apprehended the student, Vishal Kumar, from Bengaluru on Monday and later arrested him.
After being brought to Mumbai, he was produced before the Bandra metropolitan magistrate.
The police sought Kumar's custody for 10 days and also permission from the court to carry out searches at his premises in Bengaluru.
After hearing the police's submission, the magistrate remanded Kumar in police custody till January 10 and also permitted the cops to carry out searches at his premises.
The cyber cell had filed the FIR against unidentified persons following complaints that photographs of Muslim women were uploaded for auction on the app hosted by GitHub platform.
Earlier in the day, a Mumbai Police team also detained a woman, who is believed to be the main accused in the case, from Uttarakhand, an official said.
According to police, the woman and Kumar know each other.
Hundreds of Muslim women were listed for auction on the Bulli Bai' app with photographs sourced without permission and doctored. It has happened for the second time in less than a year. The app appeared to be a clone of Sulli Deals which triggered a similar row last year.
Amid outrage over Muslim women being targeted through the dodgy app, the Delhi Police had sought details from the GitHub platform about the developer of the 'Bulli Bai' mobile application and asked Twitter to block and remove related "offensive contents" on its platform.
