According to studies, people who often use soaps that have fruity or floral fragrances attract mosquitoes.&nbsp;
This finding was published in the journal iScience. It was mentioned in the study that certain types of soaps can affect a person's attractiveness to mosquitoes.
The lead researcher of the study, Clement Vinauger, said that "altering soap scents can either enhance or diminish the attraction of individuals who already have a higher-than-average appeal to mosquitoes."
It was concluded in the study that soap is one of many factors that increases mosquito attraction.&nbsp;

A recent study has found that people who release too many chemicals from their skin are more prone to be bitten by mosquitos.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! We all witness the terror of mosquitos, but you might have noticed that some people are bitten by mosquitos more as compared to others. We commonly call them &lsquo;sweet blooded&rsquo; but according to research these people are known as &ldquo;mosquito magnets&rdquo;.
It has been found that people who attract mosquitos the most actually release some amount of chemical from their skin and due to the smell, mosquitos tend to get more attracted to them.
A neurobiologist at Rockefeller University in New York, says that people who release too much of the chemical from their skin, are more prone to be bitten by mosquitos. So, if you think you are a mosquito magnet, take all precautions before falling prey to mosquitos.

Here's why mosquitoes bite some people more than others

A study at the University of Florida said that female mosquitoes find 20% of the population more delicious than the rest. They choose their prey based on two factors: sight and smell.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Do you feel that mosquitoes single you out to snack on you more than others? Well, you are not entirely alone. A study by Jonathan Day, professor of medical entomology at the University of Florida concluded that female mosquitoes find 20% of the population more delicious than the rest. And yes, it&rsquo;s always a female mosquito that bites as they need human blood to develop fertile eggs.
The study also went on to list two compelling factors for the mosquitoes to pick out their prey &ndash; sight and smell.

Sight
Mosquitoes are highly visual, especially later in the afternoon and after dark, and their first mode of search for humans is through vision. Research in the Journal of Experimental Biology shows that mosquitoes are attracted to dark colours like black, navy blue, brown etc. So, if you are dressed in some of these colours, chances are that you might be a great feast for the mosquitoes.
Smell
Mosquitoes can sense carbon dioxide from a significant distance and this is the second cue for them to track you down. The more you exhale, the more attractive you become to them. Pregnant women and people with higher metabolic rates produce more carbon dioxide and are more prone to mosquito bites.
To protect yourself from becoming a mosquito&rsquo;s target, always carry a skin-friendly pest repellent&nbsp;spray. Also, if possible, wear light-coloured clothes with long sleeves. This can limit the area available for mosquitoes to snack on. A good pest control plan can also reduce the menace of mosquitoes buzzing inside your home.
