India&rsquo;s primary food regulatory body, the&nbsp;Food Safety &amp; Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) said in a tweet that the risk for&nbsp;food-borne and other illnesses&nbsp;is much higher during the monsoons and shared some tips to stay&nbsp;fit and&nbsp;healthy!&nbsp;
Here are FSSAI&rsquo;s top tips:&nbsp;

<li>Wash all food items thoroughly before cooking them</li>
<li>Be extra vigilant about keeping yourself and your surroundings clean</li>
<li>Cook only&nbsp;the&nbsp;amount of food that you can consume right away and eat only freshly prepared meals&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Refrigerate any leftover food as soon as possible to avoid microbial growth. When eating leftovers, always warm them before consumption&nbsp;</li>
<li>Milk, curd and other perishable food items should be stored in a&nbsp;refrigerator&nbsp;at all times</li>
<li>Improve your immunity by&nbsp;adding&nbsp;spices such as black pepper,&nbsp;garlic, ginger, cumin seeds, coriander seeds and turmeric powder&nbsp;to your regular diet. These wonder ingredients help your body defend itself&nbsp;against&nbsp;pesky monsoon diseases</li>
