"We have come across social media posts claiming that an Indian national is facing difficulties at Newark Liberty International Airport. We are in touch with local authorities in this regard," the Indian Consulate said in a post on X.
Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh alleged that the Modi government is continuously failing to protect the honour of India and Indians.
"For the first time in history, a US head of state has announced a ceasefire between India and Pakistan in Washington DC. The US President is continuously claiming credit for maintaining pressure on India. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi has not been able to summon the courage to speak - either on the ceasefire or on the atrocities being perpetrated against Indians in the US," Ramesh said in a post on X.
Protecting the honour of India and Indians is one of the most important responsibilities of the Prime Minister of India, he asserted.
"We demand that Prime Minister Modi should talk to President Trump and appeal for intervention in the atrocities happening against Indians and the fear that has gripped lakhs of Indian students in America," Ramesh said.
He called on the PM to appeal to Trump for intervention on the "mistreatment and atrocities" being committed against Indians in America.
Congress' media and publicity department head Pawan Khera tagged a post on X carrying the video, which was posted online by an Indian-American social entrepreneur Kunal Jain. The video shows the Indian man pinned to the ground by Port Authority Police and being handcuffed.
"I witnessed a young Indian student being deported from Newark Airport last night - handcuffed, crying, treated like a criminal. He came chasing dreams, not causing harm. As an NRI, I felt helpless and heartbroken. This is a human tragedy," Jain said in his post.
Tagging Jain's post, Khera said, "This is too painful, too humiliating and too distressing to watch. As a country, why should we tolerate this humiliation?" "From the days where we showed the muscle to the US during the Devyani Khobragade issue to now seeing our citizens being treated like animals, do we have no goodwill left in the world?" the Congress leader said.

His priorities are crystal clear: appeasing his real master&mdash;Adani.
"But rest assured, PM, while you&rsquo;re busy with your distractions, our sleepless nights will be spent holding you accountable," he said.
"We will relentlessly pressure you to set a timeline for the caste census, remove the 50 percent cap on reservations, and finally deliver the strong, decisive response that Pakistan so rightly deserves," he also said.
At the event, Modi also referred to Vijayan as a "pillar" of the opposition INDIA bloc.
The prime minister told Vijayan and Tharoor, who were on the dais, that their presence at the inauguration event would give "sleepless nights" to many. However, the person translating his speech did not translate it properly, and it prompted the PM to say, "The message has gone across to whom it was meant."

"This 18th Lok Sabha is an important milestone towards fulfilling those dreams when the country will celebrate the 100 years of independence in 2047," Modi said.
This 18th Lok Sabha is a House of new energy, youthful energy, and people have given the NDA government one more chance, Modi said.
The BJP-led NDA won 293 seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections and enjoys majority in the 543-member House.

The people cited above said Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth are set to be invited to Modi's swearing-in ceremony.
Modi had a separate phone conversations with Prachanda.
The formal invitations are set to be sent on Thursday, said one of the people cited above.
The leaders of regional grouping SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) countries attended Modi's first swearing-in ceremony when he took the reins as the prime minister after a massive electoral victory for the BJP.
Leaders of the BIMSTEC countries attended Modi's swearing-in ceremony in 2019 when he became prime minister for the second consecutive term.
Modi is likely to take oath on June 8.
Though the BJP could not get a majority on its own in the polls, the party-led alliance secured 293 seats out of 543. The majority mark in the Lower House is 272.&nbsp;

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said that the Trinamool Congress will complain to the Election Commission if Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meditation in Kanyakumari is televised, alleging that it would amount to violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

"Does anyone have to get cameras for doing meditation?" she asked, claiming that it was a way of campaigning during the silence period between the end of campaign and the poll date.
According to the BJP leaders, Modi will meditate from the evening of May 30 to the evening of June 1 at Dhyana Mandapam, the place where Vivekananda -- a spiritual icon admired by Modi -- is believed to have had a divine vision about 'Bharat Mata'.
Speaking at an election meeting at the same ground where PM Modi held a campaign meeting on Tuesday in favour of the BJP candidate in Jadavpur constituency, the Trinamool Congress chief claimed that he (Modi) goes for meditation for 48 hours before the final phase polling is to be held in every election.
The prime minister had gone on a similar meditation exercise in a Kedarnath cave after the 2019 poll campaign.
Banerjee accused the BJP dispensation at the Centre of selling off stake in government-owned companies.
"If they (BJP) come back to power this time, there will not be any political party, elections, independence, religion, humanity or culture," she said.
The TMC supremo sought to reject Modi's statement that the BJP will emerge with the best results this election in Bengal, stating, "This means they have lost, they will get rosogolla (zero) in Bengal." Stating that the TMC will give its "support" to the opposition INDIA alliance for forming a government in Delhi, she urged the people not to vote for the CPI(M) or Congress in Bengal.
"That will help the BJP," she said, in the campaign meeting at Baruipur before the seventh phase election to nine Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, which has a total of 42 seats.
"Had I not come out of the Congress and formed the Trinamool Congress, then even today we would not have been able to defeat the CPI(M) in Bengal," she said.
Stating that she fought against the CPI(M) for 34 years to throw its government out of Bengal, she said "If we could achieve that, we can also defeat the BJP and we will do it.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday suggested that if the Congress comes to power, it would redistribute wealth of people to Muslims and cited former PM Manmohan Singh's remark that the minority community had the first claim on the country's resources.
"This urban-naxal mindset, my mothers and sisters, they will not even leave your 'Mangalsutra'. They can go to that level," Modi said addressing a rally in Rajasthan's Banswara.
"The Congress manifesto says they will calculate the gold with mothers and sisters, get information about it and then distribute that property. They will distribute it to whom - Manmohan Singh's government had said that Muslims have the first right on the country's assets," he claimed.
"Earlier, when their (Congress) government was in power, they had said that Muslims have the first right on the country's assets. This means to whom will this property be distributed? It will be distributed among those who have more children.
"It will distributed to the infiltrators. Should your hard-earned money go to the infiltrators? Do you approve of this?" he said.
Modi's reference was to former prime minister Manmohan Singh's controversial &ldquo;first claim&rdquo; remark made in 2006.
While the Congress manifesto delves into the issue of economic inequalities, the party has asserted that it does not talk about "redistribution" and that it favours a "comprehensive socio-economic caste census".
The opposition party had also asserted that Rahul Gandhi did not promise redistribution of the nation's wealth in Hyderabad on 7 April 2024 and that his words were "misrepresented". The clarification from Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh came after Rahul Gandhi had reportedly talked about the need to conduct a survey for more equitable distribution of the country&rsquo;s wealth.
On Sunday, Modi alleged that the Congress is now trapped "in the clutches of the Leftists" and its manifesto "is worrying and serious" as it is an attempt to implement the "ideology of Maoism on the ground".
"It says that if a Congress government is formed, everyone's property will be surveyed, the amount of gold our sisters have will be investigated and calculated. our tribal families have silver, which will be calculated... This gold and other assets will be distributed equally to everyone.
"Is it acceptable to you? Do governments have the right to confiscate your property which you have earned through hard work? The gold with our mothers and sisters is not for showing off, it is related to their self-respect.
"The value of their 'Mangalsutra' is not in gold or its price but it is related to her dreams in life and you are talking about snatching it," Modi said.
The prime minister alleged that the Congress has come under the control of "urban Naxals".
He also accused the Congress of ignoring the welfare of tribals and said the party could not find a single person from the Adivasi community who could be the President of the country during its 60-year rule.
"Were the tribals not capable? Just see the Congress' mindset. But in 2014, you blessed us.. and now a tribal daughter is the country's president. This is real participation. This is the spirit of the Constitution given by Babasaheb," Modi said addressing the public meeting in Banswara in support of BJP's Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya.
He said that the BJP is committed towards the welfare of the poor and works honestly, but the Congress sells "fear, hunger and corruption in its shop".
He said that the Congress has always instilled fears among the Dalits, tribals and minorities and is now spreading lies about democracy, the Constitution and reservation to scare them.
"But the country is out of the grip of fear that is why their lies are no longer working. In the states with considerable tribal population, the Congress is either not in power or is in third or fourth position ... There is anger among the tribal population and there are concrete reasons for it," Modi said.
He said a tribal welfare ministry was formed only under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
"From among crores of tribal sons and daughters, the Congress could not a single person in 60 years who could be become the President of the country," Modi said, adding the Congress and the INDIA bloc even opposed the candidature of the current President who is from the tribal community.
In a veiled attack on Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Modi also those who cannot win elections have "fled the field" and have come to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan.
Addressing another election rally in Rajasthan's Jalore, Modi said the country is punishing the Congress for its "sins" and the party that had once won 400 seats is unable to find candidates to contest 300 seats in this Lok Sabha election.
"Those who cannot contest elections, cannot win elections have fled the field. This time, they have come to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. The condition of Congress is so bad," Modi said.
Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi is among the MPs elected to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan in February. Several Congress veterans have not been fielded in this Lok Sabha election, but the party has rejected suggestions that they were shying away from contesting.
"In the first phase of voting, half of Rajasthan has punished Congress. Rajasthan, which is full of patriotism, knows that Congress can never make India strong," PM Modi said He said the country does not want the conditions which existed before 2014 to return.
"The Congress has hollowed out the country by spreading termites of nepotism and corruption. And today, the country is angry with the Congress and is punishing it for these sins. The youths are so angry that they do not want to see the Congress' face again." Modi was addressing the public meeting in Bhinmal in support of BJP candidate Lumbaram Chaudhary.
"The Congress has itself to blame for its present condition ... The party that had once won 400 seats is unable to contest 300 seats on its own. Today, the condition of Congress is such that it is unable to find candidates," Modi said.&nbsp;

The Muslim League Jammu Kashmir (Masarat Alam faction) (MLJK-MA), which has been involved in anti-national and secessionist activities in Jammu and Kashmir and supporting terrorist activities, was on Wednesday declared a banned organisation.
Announcing the ban on the MLJK-MA under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi government's message is loud and clear that anyone acting against the unity, sovereignty, and integrity of the nation will not be spared and face the full wrath of the law.
"The Muslim League Jammu Kashmir (Masarat Alam faction) is declared as an 'Unlawful Association' under UAPA. This organisation and its members are involved in anti-national and secessionist activities in J&amp;K, supporting terrorist activities and inciting people to establish Islamic rule in J&amp;K," he wrote on 'X'.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the seriousness of the security breach in Parliament cannot be underestimated, and called for no squabbling over the issue amid Opposition's protests over it in Parliament.
In an interview to Hindi daily 'Dainik Jagran', Modi said probe agencies are investigating the incident and taking stringent measures, noting that it is equally necessary to go to the root of people behind it and their motives.
The newspaper said he described the breach as &ldquo;painful and a matter of concern. Efforts should also be made to look for a solution with collective spirit. Everyone should avoid squabbling over such an issue," he said.
&ldquo;The gravity of the incident which happened in Parliament should not be underestimated,&rdquo; the prime minister said, adding that the Speaker has also been taking necessary steps with all seriousness.
Two persons jumped from visitors' gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber on December 13, with opposition parties, demanding a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah. Some members have also sought Shah&rsquo;s resignation.
The government has insisted that the security in Parliament complex is the responsibility of the Lok Sabha secretariat and it has been following the Speaker's directives. It has also cited numerous such violations in the past, accusing the opposition of politicising the issue.
To a question about the BJP picking relatively new and little-known leaders as chief ministers in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, Modi said the leaders have lots of experience and hard work behind them.
Taking a jibe at those questioning the BJP's choices, he said it has been the country's misfortune that a big section of people who influence the society are bound to a trite and narrow mindset.
"This is not confined to only the political field. This nature troubles us in every field. If in any field, some name becomes big with some branding, then others do not get attention irrespective of their talent and hardwork. A similar thing happens in politics," he said.
The media's focus for some decades has unfortunately been the most on a few families and due to this, talent and usefulness of new people are not being discussed, he said.
"That is why you often see some people as new. But the truth is that they are not new. They have done the hard work and have their own experience," he added.
The BJP leadership has picked Vishnu Deo Sai, Mohan Yadav and Bhajan Lal Sharma as chief ministers of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan respectively, looking over the claims of former CMs Raman Singh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhra Raje.
On the Supreme Court verdict on Article 370, Modi said the top court has put its stamp on the abrogation of Article 370, and added that &ldquo;no power in the universe can bring it back&rdquo;.
Citing the BJP's stupendous show in the recent assembly polls, he said it has shown that the party is set to score a historic win again in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He said opposition parties should introspect as to why people do not accept their claims.&nbsp;

BJP MPs submitted resignations from their memberships in the Parliament after meeting PM Modi and BJP chief JP Nadda.

Ten BJP MPs have resigned from the membership of the Parliament after winning the Assembly elections.
As per reports, the decision was taken after a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief JP Nadda.
Those who have resigned include Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Joshi, Prahlad Singh Patel, Rakesh Singh, Uday Pratap and Riti Pathak from Madhya Pradesh; Arun Sao and Gomati Sai from Chhattisgarh and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Diya Kumari and Kirodi Lal Meena from Rajasthan.
As per reports, two other MPs, Union Minister Renuka Singh and Mahant Balaknath, are also expected to resign from the Lok Sabha.

After the proposed deal for acquiring 26 Rafale jets and the agreement for the construction of three Scorpene submarines in India were not included in the bilateral documents issued after the Modi-Macron summit held in Paris last week, the government has clarified that an earlier version of the documents was mistakenly uploaded on the external affairs ministry&rsquo;s website for a 'short while' and that it was 'not the agreed upon text in any way', TOI reported on 16 July quoting govt sources.
The report also said that these mega defence procurements, estimated to cost around Rs 90,000 crore are still in the early stages and final approvals on the deals may take over a year.
The approved text now on the website is the same one as published by the French government, TOI said.&nbsp;
