<h2>&lsquo;Maharaj&rsquo; stay lifted&nbsp;</h2>
<p>The Gujarat High Court has lifted the interim stay to the release of &lsquo;Maharaj&rsquo;, the debut film of Bollywood star Aamir Khan's son Junaid, observing that there is nothing derogatory in the movie as alleged. The court also noted that the movie has been certified by CBFC and it does not target the sect.&nbsp;</p>
<p>YRF Entertainment's &lsquo;Maharaj&rsquo; did not premiere on Netflix on June 14 as scheduled after the Gujarat High Court stayed its release on June 13. &nbsp;Members of a Hindu sect- Pushtimarg, who claimed the film would hurt their religious sentiments had filed a petition in the court against its release on Netflix.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier, Hindu organisations raised objections alleging that the film hurts religious sentiments. The matter is in court,&rdquo; told a source to Pinkvilla. &lsquo;Maharaj&rsquo; writer has reportedly also backed the film saying that it does not vilify the Vaishnav community or the religion. &nbsp;</p>

They are standing side by side with Ahlawat's character sporting a 'tilak' on his forehead while Junaid's character, reportedly a journalist, is dressed in a waistcoat.&nbsp;</p>
<p>VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi was one of the many X users who called for a ban on &lsquo;Maharaj&rsquo;. "Won't tolerate the disrespect of Sanatan Dharma (Sanatan Dharma ka apmaan sehen nahin karenge).
