Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday accused the Congress of adopting double standards on Naxalism and said the BJP government has eradicated the problem from its roots.
The Congress believes only in the blame-game politics, and its previous governments had left problems like Naxalism to persist, Yadav told reporters in Indore. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; "During the (previous) Congress rule, Naxalism was a major problem in the state. We have eradicated this problem from its roots. Mandla, Balaghat, and Dindori districts is the state are almost free of Naxalism," he said. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
The CM noted that during the Congress rule in the state, Naxalites had killed a minister. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
"The root cause of the Naxalism problem was the then chief minister of the state, who even today expresses grief over the killing of (Naxalite commander) Madvi Hidma. This attitude reveals the double standards of the Congress party," he said without naming Digvijaya Singh. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
Yadav was sworn in as the 19th chief minister of Madhya Pradesh on December 13, 2023. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
Listing his government's achievements in the last two years, he said many steps have been taken for the welfare of women, farmers, youth, and economically weaker sections. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
The number of medical colleges in the state has doubled, and the industrial growth rate has surpassed the national average, the CM said. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;

Ten hardcore Naxalites carrying a collective bounty of Rs 2.36 crore have surrendered in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district, prompting Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to declare Dindori and Mandla completely free from the Naxal influence.
The Naxalites, including four women, laid down their modern weapons, including AK-47 and INSAS rifles, in front of Yadav on Sunday. They were part of the 'Bhorsadev area committee' of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist), officials said.
"Dindori and Mandla are now completely free from Naxal influence. A complete Naxal eradication campaign will begin in Balaghat from January. Those who return to the mainstream will get a rehabilitation package for 15 years, while strict action will continue against those who do not," Yadav said.

At the 'Punarvas Se Purnajeevan' (rehabilitation) event held at the Balaghat police lines, Yadav urged Naxalites to join the mainstream under the government's surrender policy and said the administration would ensure their rehabilitation.
"The government's rehabilitation policy is not just an announcement but a guarantee. Anyone who gives up violence and surrenders will get full opportunities for a dignified life, security and rehabilitation. The government's aim is to provide a safe future to every person who wants to walk the path of development and peace," he said.
Yadav said the government was committed to freeing Madhya Pradesh of Naxalism as per the target set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
"The time has come to give the last salute to 'Lal Salaam'. The campaign was to be completed by March 2026, but due to the indomitable courage of our security agencies and police, a roadmap has now been prepared to finish it by January 2026," he said, adding that no one would be permitted to pick up arms.
The 10 cadres who surrendered were members of the 'Bhoramdeo area committee' of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist), officials said.
"They belonged to the new division KB of the Maharashtra-MP-Chhattisgarh (MMC) zone comprising Kanha Tiger Reserve in Mandla and the Bhoramdeo Wildlife Sanctuary of Kawardha district in Chhattisgarh. It was led by ultra Sunder alias Kabir. MP shares borders with Gondia district of Maharashtra as well as Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh and Kawardha of Chhattisgarh," an official said.
"They had formed the GRB division comprising Gondia, Rajnandgaon and Balaghat. Chief Minister Yadav gave the surrendered Naxalites copies of the Constitution," the official added.
The surrendered cadres were identified as Sunder alias Kabir alias Soma (AK-47, bounty Rs 62 lakh), Rakesh Odo alias Bima, Samar alias Samru alias Raju (.303 rifle, bounty Rs 14 lakh), Salita alias Savita (SLR, bounty Rs 14 lakh), Vikram alias Hidma (bounty Rs 14 lakh) and Lalsing Madavi alias Seengoo (INSAS, bounty Rs 14 lakh).
The others were Shilpa (INSAS, bounty Rs 14 lakh), Zarina alias Jogi (bounty Rs 14 lakh), Jaysheela (single-shot gun, bounty Rs 14 lakh) and Naveen alias Hidma (single-shot gun, bounty Rs 14 lakh).
On the occasion, Director General of Police Kailash Makwana said new camps have been established by security personnel, while the anti-Naxal Hawk Force and police are being strengthened.
He said officers and personnel are being continuously encouraged. These actions have produced positive results.
"Surrenders are rising in Madhya Pradesh as well as other states. Efforts in employment and skill development had helped connect youth and citizens from Naxal-affected areas to the mainstream," the DGP added.

Tamil Nadu-based Sresan Pharma owner has been arrested by the Madhya Pradesh police with the help of Chennai police in the wee hours of Thursday, in connection with the adulterated cough syrup case, a police official said.
Teams from the Madhya Pradesh police and Chennai cops launched a hunt to trace out and nab the pharma owner Ranganathan.
'Coldrif' cough syrup manufactured by his company is attributed to the deaths of children in multiple states.
A senior police official said he was detained following a midnight operation and taken to Sunguvarchatram police station for an inquiry.
According to the police official, the police teams have been searching for G Ranganathan since October 7 after the Madhya Pradesh police team arrived, and he was finally arrested at 1.30 am today. The police also seized some documents from his Kancheepuram factory.
After being produced in the court here for obtaining the transit remand, he would be taken to Chhindwara, he said.
On October 7, the Sriperumbudur Drug Control Inspector had issued a show-cause notice to the pharma company asking it to explain the discrepancies in the quality and labelling of the medicine. Officials from the TN Directorate of Drugs Control inspected the manufacturing facility and found that the medicines were allegedly stored in &ldquo;unhygienic conditions&rdquo; on the corridors, and they noticed certain risk of contamination, he said.
The Tamil Nadu government had sealed the factory after 20 children from Madhya Pradesh died after consuming the "contaminated" cough syrup allegedly made in the unit. The government banned the cough syrup 'Coldrif' in the state from October 1 and ordered the removal of stocks of the medicine from the market.&nbsp;

Five-year-old Vishal died on Wednesday evening and Mayank Suryavanshi, aged 4, succumbed late at night while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nagpur in neighbouring Maharashtra, Chhindwara's Additional Collector Dhirendra Singh Netri said.
The two children hailed from Parasia town in Chhindwara, he said.
The death toll has now gone up to 22, the official said.
These children from Chhindwara died due to suspected kidney failure, which is linked to the consumption of 'toxic' Coldrif cough syrup, as per officials.
Some other children from MP were undergoing treatment in Nagpur, they said.
The Madhya Pradesh Police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the deaths and filed a case against the Tamil Nadu-based manufacturer of Coldrif.
The SIT on Thursday arrested Tamil Nadu-based Sresan Pharma owner Ranganathan Govindan from Chennai in connection with the adulterated cough syrup case, Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Parasia, Jitendra Singh Jaat told PTI.
The police have also sealed the drug factory, he said.
The accused will be produced in a Chennai court for obtaining his transit remand and will be brought to Parasia by Friday, he added.
The MP government earlier this week suspended two drug inspectors and a deputy director of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and transferred the state's drug controller amid an investigation into the children's deaths.
Chhindwara-based Dr Praveen Soni has been arrested for alleged negligence.
A local court in Parasia town on Wednesday rejected the bail application of Soni.
The Indian Medical Association has threatened to go on an indefinite strike in the district against Dr Soni's arrest on Thursday.&nbsp;

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister of Tourism &amp; Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Wednesday inaugurated the second Global Spiritual Tourism Conclave, &lsquo;RoohMantic&rsquo;, in Ujjain district.
CM Yadav highlighted that the state government is actively working to promote religious tourism, with several sessions being held during the conclave to explore ways to enhance pilgrimage experiences. The event is organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.
During the event, the Chief Minister and Union Minister released a book on spirituality titled Faith and Flow and held a roundtable discussion with representatives from institutions in the spiritual and wellness sectors.
Speaking to reporters, CM Yadav said, &ldquo;To promote religious tourism, Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has come to attend our major program on religious tourism here. Also, various trustees and directors from Tirupati Balaji, Shirdi Sai Baba, ISKCON International, and other such major institutions from across the country have come to this program. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that with the blessings of Baba Mahakal, the upcoming Singhasth-2028 in Ujjain will surpass all previous records. Pilgrimage tourism will be further promoted in the city, and no effort will be spared in its development.
CM Dr. Yadav made the remarks while addressing the clay Ganesh idol distribution event organised by the Lokmanya Tilak Ganesh Utsav Maha-Ayojan Samiti in Ujjain on Wednesday. On the occasion, he extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of the state on Ganesh Chaturthi.
At the start of the event, the Chief Minister performed worship of Lord Shri Ganesh. He said that in Indian culture, Shri Ganesh is revered as the first deity to be worshipped. &ldquo;Our tradition and nature give the message that there should be a clay Ganesh idol in every home,&rdquo; he added, noting that the deity is considered the giver of wisdom and success, ensuring the accomplishment of auspicious works.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday said that Ujjain is the center of India&rsquo;s religious, cultural, and spiritual energy, with Baba Mahakal himself as the source.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Baba Mahakal is the eternal force that keeps the cosmos in motion. With Baba Mahakal&rsquo;s blessings, Ujjain has gained global fame as the best religious and spiritual destination, symbolising the Nation&rsquo;s deep faith and traditions,&rdquo; he said.
The Chief Minister made the remarks during the inaugural program of the second Global Spiritual Tourism Conclave &lsquo;रूहMantic&rsquo; at Hotel Anjushree, Ujjain, which he inaugurated alongside Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Both leaders also released the book Faith and Flow during the event.
Ujjain&rsquo;s Historical Significance and Spiritual Tourism
&ldquo;The glorious Ujjain has a long history. After the inauguration of Shri Mahakal MahaLok by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Ujjain has attained worldwide recognition, attraction. Now, devotees and tourists from across the country and abroad are arriving in large numbers,&rdquo; CM Dr. Yadav said.
He highlighted Ujjain as the city of time calculation, noting that Sandipani Ashram was where Lord Shri Krishna gained knowledge. &ldquo;For self-realisation, there is no better place in than India. Today, India may have political boundaries, but religion and culture do not know any frontiers,&rdquo; he added.
The Chief Minister emphasised the role of spiritual tourism in public welfare: &ldquo;This conclave envisions public welfare through tourism and pilgrimage,&rdquo; and recalled that India&rsquo;s spiritual tourism has gained momentum under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He also praised the historic role of temples in shaping India&rsquo;s democratic and cultural identity: &ldquo;Our temples can also serve as the foundation of democracy.&rdquo;
Global Recognition and Development of Ujjain
Union Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said Ujjain&rsquo;s spiritual heritage is charting a new course for global spiritual tourism. &ldquo;The number of visitors that once came in an entire year, now arrive within just one to one-and-a-half weeks,&rdquo; he noted. Shri Shekhawat highlighted India&rsquo;s enduring cultural legacy, pilgrimage traditions, and the rise of domestic tourism, crediting PM Modi&rsquo;s leadership for positioning India as a global cultural hub.
Spiritual Guru Shri Dheer Gaur Das Prabhu observed that Ujjain is advancing rapidly with modern facilities and is on track to join other leading religious tourism destinations in India and worldwide. &ldquo;Spiritual tourism alone contributes 2.5% of India&rsquo;s GDP, and there is scope to increase this further,&rdquo; he said.
Preparations for Simhastha 2028 are underway, with new infrastructure including bridges, roads, and ghats being developed. Officials noted Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s rapid tourism growth, recording 110 million tourists in 2023 and 130 million in 2024, with Ujjain leading at 70 million visitors.
Collaborative Efforts and Future Plans
The conclave saw participation from ministers, MLAs, tourism officials, experts, and representatives from religious trusts. CM Dr. Yadav held a roundtable with leading institutions, highlighting Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s tourism policies and inviting collaboration to expand spiritual tourism. PHDCCI and Sage Group leaders announced plans for hospitality, wellness, and Medicity projects in Bhopal, Indore, and Omkareshwar, along with increased flight connectivity for the upcoming Simhastha.

MP cabinet approves consultancy fee for Ujjain-Indore metro project

Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav-led cabinet approves Ujjain&ndash;Indore&ndash;Pithampur Metro DPR, 25,000 tablets for digital policing, 610 prosecution posts, and solar-wind energy projects for rural water supply.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav chaired the Council of Ministers meeting at Mantralaya on Tuesday, during which several significant decisions were approved to boost infrastructure, governance, and renewable energy in the state.
Metro Rail Project Gets Green Light
The Cabinet approved consultancy fees for the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Ujjain&ndash;Indore&ndash;Pithampur Metro Rail Project.
The project will be implemented in two phases: the first phase covering Shri Mahakaleshwar Ujjain to Luv Kush Square, Indore, and the second phase extending from Luv Kush Square to Pithampur. Consultancy work has been assigned to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited at the rate of Rs. 9 lakh per km (plus GST).
Digital Policing Strengthened with Tablets
To ensure smooth functioning of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), the Cabinet approved the purchase of 25,000 tablets worth Rs. 75 crore for the E-Vivechana App. This will allow investigating officers to perform on-the-spot documentation and procedures.
With this sanction, the total cost of the expanded CCTNS scheme stands at Rs. 177.87 crore. The project has been operational in all police stations of Madhya Pradesh since 2012. In the first phase, 1,732 tablets had already been procured.
610 New Posts in Prosecution Department
The Cabinet sanctioned the creation of 610 new posts under the Directorate of Prosecution to strengthen the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and ensure &ldquo;One Prosecutor per Court.&rdquo;
These include 185 Additional Public Prosecutors, 255 Additional District Prosecution Officers, 100 Assistant District Prosecution Officers, and 70 Supporting Staff, with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 60 crore over three years.
Competitive Power Procurement Approved
The Cabinet approved competitive procurement of electricity from proposed new thermal power projects with a total capacity of 4,000 MW (3,200 MW + 800 MW under the &lsquo;Green Shoe&rsquo; option). M.P.
Power Management Company Limited has selected three developers for 800 MW, 1,600 MW, and 800 MW respectively, with procurement of an additional 800 MW under the Green Shoe provision, subject to MPERC approval.
Renewable Energy Projects for Water Supply Schemes
The Cabinet also approved the establishment of a 100 MW solar and 60 MW wind energy project in captive mode for the Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam&rsquo;s Group Rural Drinking Water Supply Schemes, aimed at reducing operational costs.
Electricity will be procured through competitive tender, and a six-month revolving Letter of Credit will ensure timely payments. The Jal Nigam is implementing 147 group drinking water supply schemes at a cost of Rs. 60,786 crore, providing water to over 75 lakh families in 35,000 villages.
The Cabinet had earlier, on March 24, 2025, given in-principle consent for private participation in these schemes, paving the way for efficient implementation.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has declared a state-wide holiday on Ganesh Chaturthi and directed the formation of a committee to review arrangements for the holiday.
Addressing ministers ahead of the Council of Ministers&rsquo; meeting on Tuesday, he also announced that in the upcoming 2027 municipal general elections, the post of chairperson will be filled through direct elections by voters.
Dr. Yadav stressed the promotion of swadeshi goods during festive celebrations. &ldquo;Idols should be made primarily of clay and paper pulp, while the use of Plaster of Paris&mdash;which poses environmental challenges&mdash;should be discouraged,&rdquo; he said.
He added that in public religious events and household rituals, people should use domestically made clothes and decorative materials.
&ldquo;This will encourage small traders and move us towards building an Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh and Atmanirbhar Bharat in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi,&rdquo; the Chief Minister noted.
Mining Conclave Brings Investment Proposals Worth ₹56,414 Crore
Dr. Yadav shared the achievements of the Mining Conclave held in Katni, revealing that investment proposals totaling ₹56,414 crore were received.
The conclave focused on opportunities in critical minerals, strategic minerals, and rare earth elements, along with their processing and value addition. MoUs were signed with Texmin, Indian Institute of Mines, and IIT Dhanbad.
Participation included Coal India Limited, Manganese Ore India Limited, Hindustan Copper Limited, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Texmin IIT, Indian School of Mines, and Indian Rare Earths Limited. Private firms such as Singhal Business Pvt. Ltd., Vinmar Resources, Ramnik Power, and Mineware Advisor also engaged in discussions on future prospects.
Major Road and Infrastructure Projects Sanctioned
Highlighting infrastructure development, the Chief Minister said Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari has sanctioned road projects worth over ₹73,000 crore for Madhya Pradesh.
Key projects include the Jabalpur&ndash;Bhopal Greenfield Highway (255 km), Indore&ndash;Bhopal Greenfield Corridor (160 km), Lakhnadon&ndash;Raipur Four-Lane Highway (220 km), along with 24 other major roads. He also announced plans for a Tiger Corridor linking Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, and Panna National Parks, and enhanced connectivity to ports to boost tourism.
Medical Education Expansion
Dr. Yadav informed that during Union Minister Shri J.P. Nadda&rsquo;s recent visit to Jabalpur, two new government medical colleges&mdash;Sheopur and Singrauli&mdash;were inaugurated with 100 MBBS seats each. &ldquo;With this, the number of government medical colleges in the state has risen to 19, from the earlier 17. Currently, the state has 2,575 MBBS seats and 1,357 postgraduate seats,&rdquo; he said.
Contracts have also been signed under a PPP model for new medical colleges in Katni, Dhar, Betul, and Panna, which will be ready for academic sessions within a year.
Promoting Religious and Regional Tourism
To promote spiritual tourism, Dr. Yadav announced a Global Spiritual Conclave in Ujjain on August 27, describing it as &ldquo;not just an event but a platform to present our rich culture and spiritual traditions before the world.&rdquo; The conclave will host over 300 eminent personalities, including spiritual leaders, thinkers, corporate hospitality leaders, temple trust officials, and technology innovators from India and abroad.
Additionally, a Regional Tourism Conclave will be organized in Gwalior from August 29&ndash;30. &ldquo;This will increase tourist inflow, boost tourism investments in the Gwalior&ndash;Chambal and Sagar divisions, and generate new employment opportunities for youth. The conclave will transform the region into a new hub of industrial and economic growth,&rdquo; the Chief Minister said, adding that over 500 tourism experts, policymakers, and industrialists will participate.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the strategic importance of electricity, calling it as essential as air and water, while highlighting the state&rsquo;s growing contribution to the nation&rsquo;s power needs.&nbsp;
Speaking at a special event, he said, &ldquo;It is a matter of pride that Madhya Pradesh fulfills the power needs of industries, farmers and citizens of the state and also contributes to the nation&rsquo;s requirements. The Delhi Metro runs on electricity supplied from Madhya Pradesh.&rdquo;
The Chief Minister outlined plans to ensure that by 2047, Madhya Pradesh remains power surplus, with no shortages of electricity. He added that the state has increased solar power generation by 30 percent over the last 11 years and is actively promoting clean energy initiatives.
Over 51,000 New Posts Approved in State Power Companies
Dr. Yadav handed over appointment letters to more than 1,000 newly selected employees and announced that over 51,000 new posts will be filled in the state&rsquo;s power companies. &ldquo;This will strengthen the functioning of the companies. Farmers are being given subsidies worth about Rs. 20,267 crore this year, while over one crore families in the state have received subsidies worth Rs. 6,445 crore from the electricity department,&rdquo; he said.
He also highlighted schemes such as the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and noted that Sanchi has been developed as the state&rsquo;s first Solar City, with around 32 lakh farmers receiving solar pumps. &ldquo;The clean energy generated in the state is giving a new shape to the energy industry,&rdquo; Dr. Yadav added.
The Chief Minister further noted that the Public Health Engineering Department has begun generating its own electricity, which will increase demand for skilled manpower and enhance the energy sector&rsquo;s overall responsibility.
Exhibition and Interaction Highlight Achievements
At the event, Dr. Yadav inaugurated an exhibition showcasing the achievements of Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s power companies and interacted with representatives of electricity employees&rsquo; organisations. A short film on the state&rsquo;s energy sector was screened, and appointment letters were formally handed over to the newly recruited personnel. Families of the new employees were also present.
The Chief Minister was felicitated by Energy Minister Shri Pradyumn Singh Tomar, who presented a turban, shawl, and citation for approving more than 51,000 regular posts in state power companies.
Shri Tomar said, &ldquo;By approving such a large number of appointments, CM Dr. Yadav has given a new lease of life to the state&rsquo;s power companies. For the first time, so many regular posts have been sanctioned, which is why the Chief Minister was felicitated today.&rdquo; He added, &ldquo;The energy department is constantly working for the welfare of farmers and consumers. Farmers will no longer have to irrigate their fields during chilly nights, as daytime power supply for irrigation is being ensured.&rdquo;

Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Shri Neeraj Mandloi stated, &ldquo;Over 1,000 youths are being appointed today, and more than 51,700 permanent posts have been approved in the six state power companies. This initiative will help Madhya Pradesh set new benchmarks in the nation's energy sector.&rdquo;
Shri Mandloi added that the department has consistently met the energy needs of both the state and the nation. &ldquo;With innovations in solar and conventional energy, Madhya Pradesh is moving ahead rapidly. The state is committed to extending full support to new investors in the energy sector,&rdquo; he said, also thanking officials, employees, and employee organisations for their cooperation.

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister and Chemicals &amp; Fertilisers Minister Shri Jagat Prasad Nadda on Sunday said that India, guided by the farsighted vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is undergoing rapid transformation across all sectors, with healthcare emerging as a strong global presence.&nbsp;
He said health programs designed in Delhi are being implemented with &ldquo;unprecedented success&rdquo; in Madhya Pradesh, making the state a model for others.
Shri Nadda was addressing a program organised by the Health Department at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cultural Information Centre in Jabalpur. On the occasion, he and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav virtually inaugurated newly constructed government medical colleges in Sheopur and Singrauli, handing over Letters of Permission for 100 MBBS seats each to begin admissions immediately.
Highlighting India&rsquo;s shift from curative to preventive and promotive healthcare, Nadda said, &ldquo;We are writing a new story of growth and expansion in the total healthcare sector.&rdquo; He pointed out that India has become the first country in the world to provide annual health coverage of ₹5 lakh to a majority of its population under the Ayushman Bharat&ndash;Niramayam Yojana, and congratulated CM Dr. Yadav and his team for their dedication.
Major launches and initiatives
In the presence of Shri Nadda and Dr. Yadav, agreements were signed with private investors to establish new medical colleges in Betul, Panna, Dhar and Katni under the PPP model. The leaders also launched the distribution of &lsquo;Vay Vandana Cards&rsquo; for eight lakh senior citizens, symbolically handing over cards to five elderly beneficiaries. Other key launches included the &lsquo;Ayushman Sakhi&rsquo; Smart Chatbot, ASHA Dialogue program, maternal nutrition awareness material, and the Mother-Child Safety Card.
Nadda lauded Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s &ldquo;Healthy Liver Mission,&rdquo; which has already screened one crore people. He said, &ldquo;Under Prime Minister Modi&rsquo;s leadership, revolutionary changes are being brought into India&rsquo;s healthcare system.&rdquo; Over 1.77 lakh Health &amp; Wellness Centres are conducting screenings for dental, mental health, cancer and other conditions, with mandatory health check-ups for citizens above 30 years, he said.
He also highlighted progress in maternal and child health: 89% of births now occur in hospitals, maternal mortality has fallen from 130 to 93, and infant mortality has dropped to 39. Screening is ongoing for 5.2 crore people with hypertension and 3.5 crore with diabetes. Under Ayushman Bharat, 12.74 crore families&mdash;covering more than 50 crore citizens&mdash;are entitled to free treatment of up to ₹5 lakh.
Nadda informed that India now has 780 medical colleges with 1.7 lakh MBBS seats, and the government aims to add 75,000 UG and PG seats in the next five years. He also praised Madhya Pradesh for pioneering MBBS education in Hindi, helping rural students access medical education in their own language.
Recalling the fight against COVID-19, he said India became the fastest country to develop a vaccine and supported not just its citizens but also nations worldwide, handling the crisis with unity unlike the unrest seen in Western countries.
Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s healthcare push
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasised that the government&rsquo;s role extends beyond treatment to supporting patients and their families. He noted that Madhya Pradesh had only five medical colleges in 2003, but today the number has grown to 32&mdash;including 17 government, 13 private and two just inaugurated. In the last 18 months, around 15 more government colleges have been approved, and efforts are underway to establish a medical or Ayurvedic college in every district.
The CM highlighted state-specific initiatives like free air ambulance and mortuary vehicle services for the poor, and the Rahveer Yojana, which provides ₹1.5 lakh for treatment of road accident victims and ₹25,000 to those who help them reach hospital. He said 75% of medical college seats under the PPP model will be reserved free of cost for poor students.
&ldquo;We are committed to tribal welfare, advanced healthcare access and expansion of facilities in mission mode,&rdquo; Dr. Yadav said.
Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla added that Madhya Pradesh currently has 19 government and 13 private medical colleges, along with AIIMS Bhopal, and will soon increase its tally to 26 government colleges. He said the state is leading in liver health missions and will expand telemedicine services through ASHA workers.
Principal Secretary (Health &amp; Medical Education) Shri Sandeep Yadav described the day as &ldquo;historic,&rdquo; marking the inauguration of two new colleges, the signing of four PPP projects, and the rollout of several new healthcare innovations.

The new recruits have been selected through examinations conducted by the Energy Department to fill vacant posts in power companies. Energy Minister Shri Pradyumna Singh Tomar reviewed the preparations for the program on Monday at the Mantralaya. He instructed officials to ensure all arrangements are completed within the stipulated time and personally inspected the venue. Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Shri Neeraj Mandloi shared detailed information about the event during the meeting.
&ldquo;Recruitment has been carried out through MP Online based on the government&rsquo;s Sankalp-Patra (manifesto),&rdquo; Shri Tomar said. The appointments cover a wide range of positions including power engineers, civil engineers, accounts officers, IT managers, assistant law officers, line attendants, security officers, pharmacists, chemists, ANMs, tracers, staff nurses, lab technicians, radiographers, ECG technicians, publicity officers and medical officers.
Family members of the newly appointed employees have also been invited to the ceremony. Alongside the event, an exhibition highlighting the achievements of the state&rsquo;s power companies will be organised. In addition, discussions will be held with representatives of electricity employees&rsquo; organisations on matters related to staff welfare and consumer services.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday said that the growth of industries is directly linked to the nation&rsquo;s prosperity, with small and cottage industries serving as the backbone of the Indian economy.&nbsp;
He stressed that optimal use of limited resources and uniform establishment of industries across all regions are essential for balanced development.
&ldquo;Inauguration of Laghu Udyog Bharati&rsquo;s state office during the Amrit Kaal of Independence reflects the state&rsquo;s progress,&rdquo; Dr. Yadav said while addressing the opening of the organisation&rsquo;s newly constructed office, Udyam Setu, at Govindpura Industrial Area. The office, built at a cost of around ₹4 crore, was inaugurated amid Vedic chants alongside Laghu Udyog Bharati&rsquo;s bi-annual regional convention and the Startup &amp; Small Entrepreneurs Mahakumbh&ndash;2025.
The Chief Minister also announced that upon repayment of any institutional or bank loan, mortgaged or double-mortgaged property would be released, a move aimed at benefiting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He assured that challenges faced in setting up small industries would be resolved, with mandatory permissions provided under a time-bound action plan. Industries generating employment will be incentivised, while subsidies will be extended for setting up new ITIs, polytechnic and engineering colleges.
Highlighting research and education as priority areas, Dr. Yadav said discussions are underway to establish study centres of domestic and foreign institutions at IIT Indore. &ldquo;Indian small industries are the most accurate example of &lsquo;heritage to development.&rsquo; They are not just businesses but foundations of hope, self-respect and economic self-reliance for millions,&rdquo; he remarked, comparing small industries to the spine of the Indian economy.
With India home to over 6 crore MSMEs contributing 30% to GDP and 45% of exports, the Chief Minister said their role has been crucial in India becoming the world&rsquo;s fourth-largest economy. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s vision of Make in India and Vocal for Local, he underlined that the path to a self-reliant India begins with small enterprises.
Dr. Yadav urged entrepreneurs to adopt the mantra of Low Price, High Quality, embrace technology, enhance marketing skills and expand globally via e-commerce. He also lauded women entrepreneurs, particularly Ladli Behnas, for boosting family income and strengthening social empowerment.
Keynote speaker Dr. Krishna Gopal emphasised that small industries sustain households, create employment and support weaker sections. He noted that unlike in many parts of the world, Indian small industries remain resilient due to cultural values. &ldquo;These industries are eco-friendly, generate no carbon emissions and the artisans deserve respect,&rdquo; he said.

He was addressing the Keer Samaj Mahasammelan in Ujjain virtually from Samatva Bhavan at his residence. Referring to the community&rsquo;s devotion, he said, &ldquo;They were blessed to receive the sacred dust of Shri Ram&rsquo;s feet and helped him cross the Bhavsagar, asking nothing in return but blessings to cross life&rsquo;s challenges.&rdquo;
The Chief Minister announced that a state-level Keer Samaj Panchayat will soon be held in the capital. He praised the community for recognizing Shri Ram as a divine incarnation rather than just a human being.
Dr. Yadav noted that the Keer Samaj is progressing through initiatives such as education promotion and de-addiction campaigns. He said blessings from communities like the Keer Samaj had given him the opportunity to serve as Chief Minister.
Highlighting government schemes, the CM said infrastructure and education are being prioritised. He informed that meritorious students are receiving scooters and laptops, while scholarships, textbooks and uniforms are making education more accessible. He also interacted with women present at the event and discussed welfare initiatives, including the Ladli Behna Yojana.

The Mahasammelan began with the oath-taking ceremony of the state executive, followed by deliberations. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Thursday reaffirmed his government&rsquo;s commitment to ensuring not just tap water access for every household but also a continuous, sustainable and high-quality supply in the coming years.
&ldquo;The policy for the operation and maintenance of rural tap water schemes should be designed in such a way that every village has a permanent arrangement for clean drinking water, ensuring that no family faces difficulties in accessing it,&rdquo; the Chief Minister said while addressing a meeting at Samatva Bhawan.
Dr. Yadav stressed that rural water supply projects should go beyond construction and must include a robust system for long-term operation and maintenance. He also underlined the importance of community participation, encouraging rural communities to take ownership of the schemes.
Highlighting the achievements under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the CM said, &ldquo;Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Jal Jeevan Mission has transformed the face of rural India, and Madhya Pradesh has achieved remarkable progress in this direction.&rdquo;
During the meeting, it was decided that the draft policy titled &lsquo;Rural Tap Water Scheme Operation, Maintenance and Management Policy&rsquo;, prepared by the Public Health Engineering Department, will be implemented for three years after approval. The policy aims to ensure smooth functioning of single-village water supply schemes in line with group water supply models.
As per the provisions, Gram Panchayats will continue to operate rural schemes, while maintenance will be handled by contracted agencies under the Public Health Engineering Department.
Principal Secretary, Public Health Engineering, Shri P. Narahari informed that in August 2019, only 12.11% (13.53 lakh) of rural families had access to tap water. The coverage has now risen to 70.41% (78.64 lakh families). The target is to reach 1.1169 crore families by March 2027.
Out of 147 group water supply schemes, 52 have been completed, covering 4,285 villages, while the remaining 95 are under progress.
The draft policy, Narahari added, has been prepared after consultations with the Panchayat &amp; Rural Development Department and other stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability.

Additional Chief Secretary Manu Shrivastava informed that an MoU has been signed between the Department of New &amp; Renewable Energy, Madhya Pradesh, and Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, in collaboration with UC Berkeley. Under this agreement, the Center for Mission on Energy Transition (CMET) was inaugurated at MANIT on Thursday. The centre will provide strategic inputs on India&rsquo;s future energy needs, policy support, and industrial requirements.
MANIT Director K.K. Shukla said the collaboration with UC Berkeley and Sequoia Climate Foundation highlights strong cooperation between academia, policy, and industry in accelerating India&rsquo;s energy transition. Representatives from GIZ, CEEW, WRI, CSIS, and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation also attended the event.
The CMET will focus on advanced research in renewable energy systems, including grid stability, storage solutions, and demand-side management, while promoting capacity building through training and global knowledge exchange.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday said Bhopal is among the most beautiful cities in India and the state government is working with a clear strategy to develop it into a metropolitan hub. He added that neighboring districts would also benefit from the growth.
Addressing a programme at the Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium, organised by Bhopal Municipal Corporation, the Chief Minister said regional connectivity will improve with the construction of the Western Bypass, while metro services in Bhopal are expected to begin by October 2025. Tourism, he said, will be boosted with the introduction of Shikara rides at the city&rsquo;s famous &lsquo;Bada Tal&rsquo; lake, along with the construction of grand gateways on major roads and a large convention centre.
At the event, Dr. Yadav laid the foundation stone for water supply works worth Rs 582.32 crore and 50 ward-level projects worth Rs 16.76 crore under the AMRUT 2.0 Mission. Appointment and compassionate appointment letters were also distributed, while sanitation workers were honoured for Bhopal&rsquo;s performance in Swachh Survekshan 2024.
Dr. Yadav said under Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s leadership, Bhopal will now provide clean drinking water to 30,000 households under AMRUT 2.0. &ldquo;The rapid expansion of urban development and civic amenities across India is a result of the Prime Minister&rsquo;s determination, making life easier for common citizens,&rdquo; he said, noting that development works are underway in 295 towns across Madhya Pradesh.
He recalled India&rsquo;s long urban tradition, citing Harappa and Mohenjo-daro as examples, and highlighted that India&rsquo;s economy has now risen to the fourth largest globally. Stressing the role of local bodies in implementing central and state schemes, the Chief Minister also remembered Bhopal&rsquo;s contribution to democratic traditions, including the Bhopal Merger Movement.
Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Vishwas Kailash Sarang said urban expansion plays a key role in job creation and overall state development. He noted that Bhopal secured second place in cleanliness rankings this year and called upon citizens to contribute to making the city No. 1.
Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai said under AMRUT 2.0, four new filter plants, four intake wells, a 700-km pipeline network, and 36 overhead tanks will be built to meet the city&rsquo;s drinking water demand. She also announced compassionate appointments for families of 31 BMC employees who passed away and appointment letters for 24 candidates selected through direct recruitment.
The programme was attended by former Protem Speaker and MLA Rameshwar Sharma, MLA Bhagwan Das Sabnani, corporators, officials, BMC employees, sanitation workers and local residents.

Madhya Pradesh has secured the top spot in the country for mineral block auctions, setting new benchmarks in the mining sector.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state auctioned 29 mineral blocks in 2022&ndash;23, earning national recognition.
It also became the first state in India to implement the Central Government&rsquo;s policy of auctioning critical minerals. For these achievements, Madhya Pradesh received the first prize in 2022 and the second prize in 2025 at the Government of India&rsquo;s Mining Ministers&rsquo; Conferences.
Mining Hub of India
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted the state&rsquo;s progress, stating, &ldquo;Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a center in mining and mineral resources. Due to the abundance of minerals and the state government&rsquo;s investment-friendly policies, Madhya Pradesh is playing a crucial role in the country&rsquo;s industrial progress.&rdquo;
He added that the state&rsquo;s achievements in mining not only strengthen its economy but also contribute to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi&rsquo;s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
With this momentum, a Mineral Industrial Development Conclave is scheduled to be held in Katni on August 23, 2025.
Surge in Mineral Revenue
The mining sector has significantly boosted Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s economy. In 2024&ndash;25, the state recorded a 23% increase in mineral revenue collection, crossing ₹10,000 crore for the first time, compared to ₹4,958 crore in 2023&ndash;24. So far, 103 mineral blocks have been auctioned, expected to generate over ₹1.68 lakh crore in the coming years.
At the Bhopal Mining Conclave in October 2024, investment proposals worth more than ₹20,000 crore were received. Reforms such as transparent auctions, environment-friendly mining practices, and community participation have further increased investor confidence.
Advancing in Critical Minerals
The Mineral Department has successfully auctioned blocks of graphite, rock phosphate, gold, manganese, and copper. Recent exploration has revealed gold reserves in Jabalpur and Katni districts, while vast diamond deposits have been certified in Panna and Chhatarpur.
- The Malajkhand copper mine (Balaghat) is India&rsquo;s largest copper mine.
- The Majhgawan diamond mine (Panna) remains the country&rsquo;s only operational diamond mine.
Tackling Illegal Mining with Technology
To curb illegal mining and transport, the state is establishing 41 AI-based e-check gates. Additionally, drone and satellite monitoring, geo-tagging, and 3D imaging are being deployed for real-time oversight of mining activities.
Mineral Funds Driving Development
Through the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), 16,452 projects have been approved in sectors like education, healthcare, drinking water, women and child welfare, sanitation, and skill development. Of these, 7,583 projects have already been completed.
Key Achievements in Valuable Minerals
- Diamond: Madhya Pradesh is the only state producing over one lakh carats annually from the Majhgawan mine (Panna). The Bunder block (Chhatarpur) is estimated to hold 34.2 million carats of diamond reserves. The upcoming Katni conference will place special focus on industrial development in this sector.
- Gold: Five gold blocks have been auctioned in Singrauli and Katni, containing 7.87 million tonnes of ore reserves. Indications of large-scale deposits have also been found in Sihora (Jabalpur) and Sleemanabad (Katni). In Jabalpur district, millions of tonnes of gold ore have been identified across 100 hectares.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India&rsquo;s pace of development has accelerated.
He noted that identifying backward districts and blocks as aspirational units and making coordinated efforts for their progress has been a highly effective step.
&ldquo;The &lsquo;Sampoornata Abhiyan&rsquo; felicitation ceremony held today is an example of positive transformation in health, education, agriculture, infrastructure and good governance at the district and block levels. The changes in the lives and living conditions of the people of these districts and blocks reflect the success of the campaign,&rdquo; the Chief Minister said.
Improvements in Health, Education &amp; Infrastructure
The &lsquo;Sampoornata Abhiyan&rsquo; has led to notable progress in maternal health check-ups, nutritional support for pregnant women, child immunisation, distribution of soil health cards, electricity in schools, and timely supply of textbooks. Dr. Yadav was addressing the State-level &lsquo;Sampoornata Abhiyan&rsquo; Felicitation Ceremony at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Center, where officers and their teams were honoured for their outstanding performance.
The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Minister, who also released a Coffee Table Book prepared by the State Policy Commission showcasing Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s development activities and welfare programs.
Government&rsquo;s Commitment to Inclusive Growth
Dr. Yadav reaffirmed the state government&rsquo;s commitment to ensuring benefits of all schemes reach every eligible citizen. &ldquo;Targets are being set across all sectors, including education, agriculture, industries, employment and energy,&rdquo; he said. Highlighting progress, he pointed out that Madhya Pradesh now has 30 medical colleges&mdash;10 of them established in the past fifteen months. He also mentioned a river-linking project that expanded irrigation by 7.5 lakh hectares in just over a year, alongside initiatives to boost fish farming.
Agriculture fairs, a Global Investors Summit, and industry conclaves have also been organised to attract investment. Dr. Yadav stressed accountability: &ldquo;Collectors and other officials who perform better will be honoured, while negligence in work will not be tolerated by the State Government under any circumstances.&rdquo;
&lsquo;Sampoornata Abhiyan&rsquo; Reshaping Governance
Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain described the campaign as a turning point. &ldquo;&lsquo;Sampoornata Abhiyan&rsquo; has provided a new direction to governance and administration. Data-based evaluation, scoring systems, clarity of priorities and transparency have improved administrative efficiency and the quality of public services,&rdquo; he said, adding that it has fostered healthy competition among districts.
NITI Aayog Member Prof. Ramesh Chandra lauded the state&rsquo;s commitment, saying that despite challenges, Madhya Pradesh had achieved targeted indicators in health and nutrition. He highlighted the Soil Health Card program as a step that would enhance productivity and improve crop quality. NITI Aayog Additional Secretary Shri Rohit Kumar also praised the initiative, noting that active participation from local administrations and communities has produced &ldquo;positive results&rdquo; and set an example for other states.

The Chief Minister honoured Collectors and district/block teams from across the state, including Barwani, Damoh, Dhar, Khandwa, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Vidisha, Jhabua, Ratlam, Anuppur, Shahdol, Dindori, Khargone, Rajgarh, Sheopur, Alirajpur, Chhatarpur, Panna, and Satna, recognising their outstanding performance under the campaign.
Background: Aspirational Districts &amp; Blocks Program
The &lsquo;Sampoornata Abhiyan&rsquo; focuses on complete saturation of key indicators like maternal care, child immunisation, soil health cards, screening for diabetes and hypertension, school electrification, textbook distribution, and self-help group support.
Launched in 2018, the Government of India&rsquo;s Aspirational Districts Program aimed to accelerate development in health, nutrition, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and financial inclusion. Encouraged by its success, the Aspirational Blocks Program was introduced in 2023 to reduce regional disparities and ensure last-mile delivery of development benefits.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said action has been taken against the sale of substandard herbicide Chlorimuron-ethyl in Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s Vidisha, Dewas, and Dhar districts after complaints of soybean crop damage.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday said the Madhya Pradesh government has taken action against sale of substandard herbicide Chlorimuron-ethyl in Vidisha, Dewas and Dhar districts.
The action was taken following a direction from Chouhan's office after it received several complaints regarding alleged damage of soyabean crops after using Chlorimuron-ethyl.
Chlorimuron-ethyl is widely used for post-emergence control of broadleaf weeds and some sedges in crops like soybean, paddy and various legumes.
"Samples were seized from the market and tested. Herbicide samples were found to be substandard in the test," Chouhan said in a statement.
Dealer's licences have been cancelled in the areas where substandard herbicide was sold. State governments have also been instructed to suspend licences till the results of the seized herbicide are out. Sale of the remaining stock was also banned, he said.
Meanwhile, farmers have been advised not to use Chlorimuron-ethyl on crops, the statement added.&nbsp;
