Perez finally ended a terrible run.

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz Jr. starts a lowly 11th while Daniel Ricciardo qualified 13th on his unexpected return to F1 with the AlphaTauri team. American Logan Sargeant was last for Williams.
Ricciardo was released by McLaren last year but the Australian veteran was given an AlphaTauri seat after Nyck de Vries was cut last week by team principal Franz Tost after failing to score a point in 10 races.
&ldquo;It was a very difficult and also emotional decision,&rdquo; Tost said. &ldquo;Unfortunately this didn't work as expected, and therefore we decided then to take Daniel.&rdquo; Earlier Saturday, Hamilton led the final practice ahead of Verstappen and Perez.
Rampaging Red Bull will take some stopping.
The team has won every race, with Perez getting the other two, and 11 in a row including the final race of 2022 to match the record for consecutive wins set by McLaren in 1988.

After many drivers, including 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton complained of back pain due to 'porpoising', Formula 1's governing body the FIA said it has taken steps on safety grounds to reduce the high-speed bouncing.
The FIA has now issued a technical directive to teams setting out how it plans to tackle 'porpoising', which is a ground effect philosophy, where air is sucked underneath a car to pull it down onto the track at high speed.
It has though caused massive back pains to the drivers, with Hamilton describing the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as the "most painful" he had ever experienced, and many of his rivals have also raised concerns.

The FIA has now issued a technical directive to teams setting out how it plans to tackle 'porpoising', which is a ground effect philosophy, where the air is sucked underneath a car to pull it down onto the track at high speed.
It has though caused massive back pains to the drivers, with Hamilton describing the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as the "most painful" he had ever experienced, and many of his rivals have also raised concerns.

Formula 1 reigning champion Max Verstappen extended his F1 championship lead as Red Bull finished 1-2 in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday. It was a disastrous day for Ferrari as their star racer, Charles Leclerc who started from the pole position was forced to retire after the Monaco driver's car started spewing smoke during the 20th lap.
