Abdul Karim Tunda, the main accused in the 1993 serial blasts case has been acquitted by a court in Rajasthan citing lack of evidence against him. Two other accused in the case have been convicted and given life imprisonment.
All three were accused in the bomb blasts that took place on multiple trains in Lucknow, Kanpur, Hyderabad, Surat and Mumbai on December 6, 1993. Two people were killed and several injured in the blasts.&nbsp;

Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Talib Hussian Shah and his Kashmiri accomplice Faisal Ahmad Dar were arrested from Tuksan Dhok in Resia district after they were tactfully disarmed by local residents on Sunday.   Police said that Talib, a resident of Rajouri, was behind the spate of IED attacks on security forces in the border district recently. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Director General of Police Dilbag Singh lauded the villagers for their courage and announced cash rewards for them. However, a political slugfest erupted between the local units of BJP and Congress after Talib was reported to be an active member of the BJP who was recently selected as its IT and social media cell in charge of the minority morcha in Jammu province. Some pictures emerged on social media purportedly showing Shah with BJP leaders. One of the pictures shows J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina purportedly presenting him with a bouquet and a letter issued by party leader Sheikh Bashir on May 9, assigning him the responsibility of new IT and social media incharge of Minority Morcha for Jammu province.

Two Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists from Pakistan were gunned down in an over night encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's summer capital Srinagar with police saying that the duo were planning to attack the Amarnath Yatra which begins on June 30. The encounter broke out in Bemina locality of Srinagar, after security forces received a tip off about the presence of terrorists there. A policeman was also injured in the cross firing. 
The Kashmir Zone Police chief Vijay Kumar in a tweet said that Pakistan-based handlers had sent two terrorists along with one local terrorist with the intention to attack Yatra.
Calling the operation a "big success", Kumar said the slain duo had escaped from an encounter in Sopore and their movements were being traced since then.

Three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in an overnight encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said Sunday.
The encounter broke out Saturday in Drabgam area of the south Kashmir district and one terrorist was killed before the night fell, they said.
A police official said a tight cordon was maintained during the night to stop the terrorists from fleeing, and when the firing resumed early Sunday morning two more terrorists were killed.
Kashmir Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said all three are locals, linked with the terror outfit LeT.
"One of them has been identified as Junaid Sheergojri, involved in #killing of our colleague #Martyr Reyaz Ahmad on 13/5/22,” he tweeted.
The two others have been identified as Fazil Nazir Bhat and Irfan Ahmad Malik, he said.
The exchange of fire had begun Saturday after security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Drabgam area of the south Kashmir district following inputs about the presence of terrorists there.
The IGP said the police have also recovered incriminating material, arms and ammunition including two AK 47 rifles and one pistol during the operation.

The drone attack is linked with the recovery of a 6 kilogram IED by Jammu police from an LeT operative leading to detention of at least three terror suspects by J&amp;K Police, the Hindustan Times has reported.
The possible targets of attacks were the air traffic control tower with one drone and the other was aiming at either the parked IAF helicopter or the radar, the report said.
The two IEDs weighing around 5-6 kilograms with RDX as the main explosive charge were dropped at a distance of 50 yards from each other, the report said quoting security officials.
According to security agencies and state police, the two drones flew from across the border, which is mere 14.5 kilometers away from the Jammu airport, and returned back after the hit. The drone is suspected to be flying at a height of 1.2 kilometers and would have been powered by long range batteries.

Govt: UN report on presence of ISIS in India factually incorrect

The government on Sunday dismissed a United Nations report on the suggested presence of ISIS terrorists in Kerala and Karnataka.&nbsp;Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy&nbsp;said in the Lok&nbsp;Sabha that the UN report suggesting&nbsp;there are "significant numbers" of ISIS terrorists in Kerala and Karnataka&nbsp;is 'factually not correct'. He also added that&nbsp;34 cases related to the presence of Islamic State (IS) and 20 cases related to the presence of Lashkar-e-Toiba across the country have&nbsp;been registered by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and 240 people arrested.

The government on Sunday dismissed a United Nations report on the suggested presence of ISIS terrorists in Kerala and Karnataka.&nbsp;Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy&nbsp;said in the Lok&nbsp;Sabha that the UN report suggesting&nbsp;there are "significant numbers" of ISIS terrorists in Kerala and Karnataka&nbsp;is 'factually not correct'. He also added that&nbsp;34 cases related to the presence of Islamic State (IS) and 20 cases related to the presence of Lashkar-e-Toiba across the country have&nbsp;been registered by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and 240 people arrested.
