Last week, the university unveiled the names of four esteemed senior scientists chosen for the esteemed Goyal Awards.

Kurukshetra University's Goyal Award Committee has announced the Rajib Goyal Prize. On Monday, the Chairman, Kurukshetra University and the Goyal Award Organising Committee, Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva, announced the awards and said that Kurukshetra University honours the best scientists of the country every year, recognising their significant contributions in the field of science and technology.
Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva said that each Rajib Goyal Prize consists of a medal, citation, and a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh. The university announced the names of four distinguished senior scientists selected for the Goyal Awards last week.
Four Scientists of the country, all below the age of 45 have been selected by the Kurukshetra University for Rajib Goyal Prizes for Young Scientists. Those who will be receiving this prize include, Dr. Saptarshi Basu, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bengaluru, (Applied Sciences), Dr. Sebastian C. Peter, JNCASR, Bengaluru, (Chemical Sciences), Dr. Bushra Ateeq, Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, IIT Kanpur (Life Sciences), Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Aggarwal, Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, (Physical Sciences).
Highlighting the contributions of the young scientists, the Donor's nominee and Co-chairman of the Organising Committee, Prof. SP Singh said that, Dr. Saptarshi Basu has made significant contributions in the field of fluid dynamics; &nbsp;Dr. Sebastian C. Peter has designed catalysts to capture carbon dioxide and convert it into several value-added chemicals; Dr. Bushra Ateeq, Youth Laureate for Biology, has conducted cutting-edge research in cancer biology that laid the foundation for prostate cancer molecular subtyping and Dr. Sanjeev Aggarwal the award winner for Young Scientist in Physics, has made innovative contributions mainly in neutrino physics and detector simulations, he added.
Prof. Sanjiv Arora, Convener of the Organising Committee said that the Goyal Awards were instituted by Late. Sh. Ram S Goyal, NRI settled in the USA in 1990. He said that the award ceremony will be arranged soon at KU, where all 8 scientists will personally receive their awards.

Kurukshetra University gets NAAC's 'A++' grade

The university has achieved academic excellence through various initiatives in the last five years.

The Kurukshetra University (KU) on Friday said it has secured the highest "A++" grade in the fourth cycle of its assessment conducted by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
This marks the university's first-ever attainment of the highest grade with a cumulative score of 3.56 out of 4, according to a statement issued by it.
The KU's achievement places it among a select group of Indian universities assessed in the fourth cycle, the statement said.
KU Vice-Chancellor Som Nath said the university is the first in the public sector in Haryana to achieve this outstanding grade.
It has excelled in the NAAC-specified criteria, such as curricular aspects (3.63), teaching, learning and evaluation (3.46), research, innovations and extension (3.39), infrastructure and learning resources (3.76), student support and progression (3.61), governance leadership and management (3.36), institutional values and best practices (4), he was quoted as saying in the statement.

Haryana Police identifies Kurukshetra man found dead in Croatia, here's how

Initially, the Haryana Police had sent a physical DNA sample which could not be sent through the Interpol channels.

In a first, the Haryana Police have identified a Kurukshetra man whose body was found in Croatia through DNA matching using the Interpol's standardised digital format, officials said on Saturday.
The body was identified as that of Parminder Singh, they said. In a statement, the police said this is the first time that a case of DNA matching has been done using Interpol's standardized digital format.
Initially, the Haryana Police had sent a physical DNA sample which could not be sent through the Interpol channels.
Later, the digital format of the DNA profile was collected by the Haryana Police from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh, which was then transmitted to Croatia using Interpol channels on the same day, police said.
Kurukshetra resident Paramjeet Kaur had lodged a complaint, saying her son Parminder wanted to go to Italy but had instead reached Serbia, police said.
She later came to know that an unidentified body had been found in Croatia, which she suspected to be that of her son, they said.

Haryana govt to allow Rahul's farmer rally

Haryana CM ML Khattar&nbsp;responding to reports of Rahul&nbsp;Gandhi visiting Haryana&nbsp;to meet farmers said he had no problem. He however said that the law and order in his state cannot be disrupted. Also, he has said that Rahul&nbsp;Gandhi cannot come with a procession from Punjab where he currently protesting against the three contentious farm laws. Rahul&nbsp;can hold his rally only with people in the state.&nbsp;Rahul&nbsp;is&nbsp;expected to visit Haryana for a series of programmes on the last day of his three-day protest. He&nbsp;is likely to address public meetings at Kaithal and Pipli in Kurukshetra district in Haryana.

The Haryana government has decided that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi&rsquo;s tractor rally will not be stopped from entering the state on October 6. Several farmer organisations on Thursday blocked the national highway at Pipli in Kurukshetra district of Haryana to protest the Centre's three farm ordinances.
The police resorted to lathicharge the protesters, who they claim pelted stones on the police personnel and broke window panes of a fire brigade vehicle.&nbsp;Later, the protesters sat on a dharna on the National Highway 22 to block the traffic.&nbsp;
Despite strict arrangements made by the district administration to prevent any farmer from reaching Pipli grain market to participate in the rally, many farmers managed to reach near the destination. The farmers claim the 3 ordinances brought in by Centre are anti-farmer.&nbsp;
