Houses turn into dust in seconds: Kullu landslide caught on camera

Devastation triggered by heavy rains continues to wreak havoc in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu even as the weatherman warned of severe rainfall.&nbsp;

A devastating landslide in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district destroyed several houses and many people are feared trapped under the debris. A video of the landslide shows many multi-storeyed buildings collapsing, leaving behind a trail of dust. The Weatherman has issued a red alert, warning of imminent heavy to very heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh for the next two days starting August 24.&nbsp;
Heavy rains and thunderstorms have battered Himachal Pradesh this monsoon, killing at least 120 people. Around 40 people are still missing in the northern state.
Weather officials issued a 24-hour red alert in half the state&rsquo;s districts this week, predicting &ldquo;heavy to very heavy rainfall. The weather department also highlighted the possibility of &ldquo;isolated spells of extremely heavy rains,&rdquo; news agency PTI reported.
The weather did not spare Himachal Pradesh&rsquo;s infrastructure. A total of 709 roads in the state are now shut following three major spells of heavy rains this year. Tourism was also seriously impacted.
Shimla Deputy Commissioner said several houses in the Panthaghati and Sanjauli areas were vacated as a safety measure after incidents of landslides were reported from other regions.

A rescue operation will been launched to search for 4 climbers who have gone missing from West Bengal scaling Mt Ali Ratni Tibba in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district. 
State authorities said the climbers went missing on  Wednesday, and the missing news was reported by two other members of the group who returned to Wachem near Malana.
The rescue operation will see joint efforts of a team from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports and a local group.  For an effective and prompt action, the rescue teams will carry out the operation using satellite phone

Himachal Pradesh: Rescue operation announced days after no news of climbers

Officials said the climbers went missing on &nbsp;Wednesday, and officials were intimated by two other members of the group who returned to Wachem near Malana.

In distressing news from Kullu in Himachal Pradesh, four mountaineers went missing while scaling Mt Ali Ritna Tibba. They have been missing since 7 September 2022.
The four climbers hail from West Bengal, and were identified as Abhijit Banik, Chinmoy Mondal, Dibash Das, and Binoy Das. Two other members of their group and a cook returned to Wachem near Malana and informed officials.
The rescue operation will see joint efforts of a team from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports alongside a local group.
The rescue groups will have satellite phones for effective and prompt action.
