Fresh from assembly election late last year, which saw Telangana's founding party, Bharat Rashtra Samiti dethroned, the state is now geared up to vote for 17 Lok Sabha seats on May 13.
With Congress hoping to replicate its assembly election performance and BJP aiming to increase its tally of 4 seats from 2019, BRS is leaving no stone unturned to stop both national parties from expanding their base in the state.
On the campaign trail this week, editorji's Vikram Chandra caught up with BRS leader and former minister, KT Rama Rao on where does his party stand in the electoral fight where two national parties are challenging each other.
In a scathing attack on Congress and BJP, KTR said both parties have failed to represent aspirations of the people of Telangana at the Centre. Targetting the PM over his sister K Kavitha's arrest in the alleged liquor policy scam, KTR said, 'leaders who oppose the Prime Minister face jail term'.&nbsp;

BRS leader KTR took a dig at himself as he re-shared his less than 24-hour-old post on X after his party Bharat Rashtra Samithi lost the state elections on Sunday.
Predicting his party's victory for the third time, KTR shared a picture of himself aiming with a gun and captioned it, 'Hattrick loading 3.0, Get ready to celebrate guys.'
But as early trends showed Congress edging past his party on Sunday, he reposted his own tweet and wrote, 'This one ain't gonna age well. Missed the mark'.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi on Sunday conceded defeat after counting trends showed Congress leading to a victory in Telangana assembly election.
Telangana minister KT Rama Rao posted on social media platform X,&ldquo;Grateful to the people of Telangana for giving @BRSparty two consecutive terms of Government. Not saddened over the result today, but surely disappointed as it was not in expected lines for us."
"But we will take this in our stride as a learning and will bounce back Congratulations to Congress party on winning the mandate. Wishing you Good Luck,&rdquo; KTR added.

A fresh row over language has sparked with Telagana minister KTR asking Indigo Airlines to respect local languages and passengers. The response has emerged after a woman passenger in a Telangana-bound flight was made to change her seat due to language barrier.
The issue was brought to light by a co-passenger who took to Twitter and narrated the entire incident.
Alleging discrimination, she claimed that the concerned woman was 'forced to change her seat' because she understood only Telugu, not English/Hindi. The user further wrote that the attendant cited security issue for her act. "No dignity, non-Hindi treated as second class citizens in their own state," she added.
KTR also urged the Airlines to recruit staff well-versed in local language like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada saying that it will be a win-win situation for everyone.

Expressing his displeasure on Twitter, the Telangana minister said that if Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had her way, she might order RBI to print new currency notes with PM Modi&rsquo;s photo replacing Mahatma Gandhi.
