Delhi Police said some protesters were removed from Rajghat area to maintain law and order.

Police on Sunday detained several BJP workers, including the party's Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva, who were protesting against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's visit to the Rajghat ahead of his scheduled surrender at Tihar jail.
All protesters were let off with a warning after an hour, Sachdeva said in a statement.
Delhi Police said some protesters were removed from Rajghat area to maintain law and order.
"To maintain law and order, some protesters were removed from Rajghat area and were taken to Kamla Market Police Station," a senior police officer said.
BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said around 100 BJP workers, including Sachdeva, were detained at the police station.
Lashing out at Kejriwal's visit to Rajghat, Sachdeva said, "A person who is behind bars for the liquor scam is going to Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi." "Arvind Kejriwal and his ministers could not even provide proper water facility for the people of Delhi and everyone knows that he is a thief," he told PTI Videos.
BJP workers blocked the cavalcade of Kejriwal by sitting on the Rajghat intersection on Ring Road, Sachdeva added in a statement issued later in the day.
"Delhi Police arrested the demonstrators and took them in buses to Kamla Market and IP Estate Police Stations from where all the protesters were let off with warning after an hour," the statement read.

For 20 days that Kejriwal was out on bail, he did nothing to solve the water and power crisis being faced by the people of Delhi, Sachdeva said.
On Sunday, Kejriwal offered prayers at the Hanuman temple in Connaught Place after visiting the Rajghat. Later, he addressed a gathering of AAP workers and leaders before surrendering at Tihar jail.
Kejriwal was released from prison on May 10 on interim bail granted by the Supreme Court in a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam to campaign in the Lok Sabha polls.
The bail expired on June 1, the day the seventh and last phase of the general elections was held.&nbsp;

The Enforcement Directorate has issued fresh summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning on March 21 in the excise policy linked money laundering case, official sources said Sunday.
The 55-year-old national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been asked to depose at the central agency's office in central Delhi.
The ninth summons have been issued so that Kejriwal's statement can be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the sources said.
The CM has repeatedly refused to appear in response to these summons, calling them illegal.
A Delhi court on Saturday had granted bail to Kejriwal on two complaints filed by the agency against him for skipping six of the previous eight summons in this case.
The agency arrested BRS leader K Kavitha in this case two days back.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met Shiv Sena (UBT) head Uddhav Thackeray at the latter's residence in Mumbai on Wednesday to seek support for the AAP's fight against the Centre's ordinance on control of services in Delhi.
He was accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha members Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha, as well as Delhi minister Atishi.
Kejriwal, the AAP's national convener, will also meet Nationalist Congress Party president Sharad Pawar to seek his support against the Centre's ordinance.
On Tuesday, Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata as part of their nationwide tour to garner support for the AAP's fight against the Centre's ordinance.
The Centre on Friday promulgated an ordinance to create an authority for transfer and posting of Group-A officers in Delhi, with the AAP government calling the move a deception with the Supreme Court verdict on control of services.
The ordinance, which comes a week after the Supreme Court handed over the control of services in Delhi excluding police, public order and land to the elected government, seeks to set up a National Capital Civil Service Authority for transfer of and disciplinary proceedings against Group-A officers from the DANICS cadre.
Transfer and postings of all officers of the Delhi government were under the executive control of the lieutenant governor before the May 11 verdict of the apex court.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is not scared of such petty politics, he, however, said.
According to sources, Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has directed the city police commissioner to take cognisance of the allegations.
"LG has taken note of tweets and statements by AAP leaders, including Dy CM Manish Sisodia and asked the Police Commissioner to ensure that such eventuality - orchestrated, or otherwise, does not happen, to the farthest possible extent," the sources said.

AAP in a statement said that if anything happens to Kejriwal or any other party leader, BJP should be held responsible.
"Due to the fear of defeats in the Gujarat and MCD polls, the BJP is hatching a conspiracy to kill @ArvindKejriwal," Sisodia said in a tweet in Hindi.
"Their MP Manoj Tiwari is openly asking his hooligans to attack Kejriwal and he has done complete planning. The AAP is not scared of their petty politics and people will give a reply to their hooliganism," he wrote.
His remarks came in response to Tiwari's tweets earlier in the day, in which he had expressed concern over Kejriwal's security, while highlighting recent allegations of corruption and "selling of tickets" for the MCD polls.
"I am concerned about the security of Arvind Kejriwal because people and AAP volunteers are angry over sustained corruption, selling of tickets (for the MCD polls), friendship with rapist and massage in jail incidents. Their MLAs too have been thrashed. It should not happen with the chief minister of Delhi ...," the North East Delhi MP said in a tweet in Hindi.
In its statement, AAP condemned the alleged threats and said that the BJP is "horrified" by the huge public support AAP is receiving in Gujarat and Delhi.

When confronted by media, Dantani said he had invited Kejriwal to his home during the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) town hall meeting in Ahmedabad on September 13 because he was asked to do so by leaders of an autorickshaw union.
Dantani hogged limelight when Kejriwal, the AAP convener, travelled to his home in his autorickshaw after accepting the dinner invite at the meeting.
"I invited Kejriwal for dinner because I was asked to do so by our union leaders. As soon as I offered to host him for a meal at my home, Kejriwal accepted it. I did not know it would become such a big issue. Otherwise, I am not at all associated with the party (AAP). I am not in touch with any AAP leader after that episode," he told reporters.
The autorickshaw driver then went on to add that he was a big admirer of the prime minister and that he had always voted for the BJP.
"I came here (for the rally) because I am a huge fan of Modiji. I have been with the BJP since the beginning and always gave my vote to the BJP in the past. I am not saying this under any pressure," said Dantani.

Speaking to reporters in Vadodara in poll-bound Gujarat, Kejriwal said the Opposition is slinging mud at Mann and spreading lies as they cannot find a fault in his work.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday alleged that Mann was deplaned from a Lufthansa flight at the Frankfurt airport because he was in an inebriated state.

After 75 years, Punjab has got a 'kattar' honest and hard-working chief minister," he said.
He said the Opposition is indulged in mudslinging as it has failed to pick fault in Mann's work.
"All this is a lie, all nonsense. The Opposition is trying to stop Mann but people are watching. They are happy with his work," Kejriwal said.
Queried on the arrest of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, the Delhi chief minister said anyone who committed a mistake should be punished.
He targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party for holding press conferences on this issue.
"I have never seen a more useless party than the BJP. It has CBI, ED, Income Tax, and the police at its disposal. Despite this, they hold press conferences daily to accuse people. If we ever form a government at the Centre, we will send accused people to jail and not hold press conferences," he said.
Khan was nabbed by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on September 16 in connection with a graft case.

The BJP is so rattled by the AAP's growing influence ahead of Gujarat assembly elections that "the prime minister's advisor Hiren Joshi has warned several TV channels owners and their editors not to give coverage to AAP party in Gujarat, threatening them with dire consequences", the party's national convenor alleged.
No immediate reaction to Kejriwal’s charge was immediately available from the PMO or Joshi.
"Stop doing things. If these editors share the screenshots of Joshi's messages, both the prime minister and his advisor will not be in a position to show their faces to the country," Kejriwal said.
"We are going to form a government in Gujarat," he added.
In a veiled attack on the prime minister over his 'revadi culture' remark, Kejriwal said the AAP's freebies are being criticised on the ground that providing free facilities to people will ruin the economy of the country.
"Only a dishonest (person), a corrupt and a traitor will say freebies are not good for the country. If any politician says freebies will ruin the country's economy, consider his intentions are wrong." Kejriwal said.

‘Ghotala hai kya’: Delhi CM Kejriwal reacts to fresh ED raids in liquor policy scam

The ED's case stems from a CBI FIR in which Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and some bureaucrats have been named as accused.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday alleged the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate are "unnecessarily troubling everyone" and said the country can't progress like this.
Addressing a press conference, the chief minister said the Lieutenant Governor, the CBI and the BJP have quoted varying amounts of money involved in the alleged liquor scam but he doesn't understand what it is really about.
His remarks came after the ED launched fresh raids at about 40 locations across the country as part of a money laundering investigation into alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.
The raids are being conducted at premises linked to liquor businessmen, distributors and supply chain networks in Nellore and some other cities in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Delhi-NCR, official sources said.
"One of their (BJP) leaders says that it is a scam of Rs 8,000 crore, the LG says it is a scam of Rs 144 crore and the CBI FIR says there is a scam of Rs 1 crore. I don't understand what the liquor scam is," Kejriwal said.
"The country cannot progress like this. They are unnecessarily troubling everyone," he said.
The ED's case stems from a CBI FIR in which Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and some bureaucrats have been named as accused.

The ED is probing if there were irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi excise policy and if any "proceeds of crime" in terms of tainted money were generated by the accused.
On August 19, the CBI had conducted raids at various places, including Sisodia's residence here, in connection with the excise policy case.
Kejriwal alleged the BJP-ruled civic body plans to create 16 new landfill sites in Delhi and turn it into a city of garbage hills.
At present, three landfill sites -- Ghazipur, Okhla and Bhalswa -- are located at Delhi borders.
"People living in the vicinity of these landfill sites are affected by the foul smell emanating from these garbage mounds and a host of other issues. We have heard that there are plans to make 16 new garbage hills in the national capital," the chief minister said.
On the other hand, he said, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is developing Delhi into a city of parks and lakes.
"If given a chance, we will beautify the national capital in a time-bound manner," he added.
The AAP has launched a month-long campaign to highlight the failures of the BJP-ruled civic body. As part of the campaign, groups led by AAP MLAs tried to reach Ghazipur and Okhla landfill sites on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, but were stopped by police.
The BJP ruled the three erstwhile municipal corporations in Delhi and the AAP was the main opposition party till the terms of the civic bodies expired in May.
Elections to constitute a new civic body are yet to be held as an exercise for delimitation of municipal wards is underway.

The ruling AAP in Punjab on Tuesday accused the BJP of offering Rs 20-25 crore each to its MLAs in an attempt to topple the Bhagwant Mann government in the state.
The Punjab BJP dubbed the allegations as "baseless" and "bundle of lies" and said AAP is trying to divert attention of people from its "failures".
Addressing the media here, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema alleged that under the BJP's "Operation Lotus", some AAP legislators in the state have been approached.
The senior AAP leader claimed that seven to 10 AAP MLAs have been approached with offers of money and ministerial positions.
 "Our MLAs in Punjab are being contacted. They are being contacted telephonically by some people of the BJP who were sent by the BJP's central leadership to break our legislators away from the party," said Cheema.
"They approached our MLAs and told them that their meeting will be arranged with 'vadde baau ji' and with big leaders in Delhi, and also offered them Rs 25 crore each," he said.       Cheema alleged that the AAP MLAs were offered ministerial positions if the BJP forms the government.
         The state finance minister further alleged, "They were told if you bring three-four MLAs, then you will be offered Rs 50-70 crore."            Cheema said when one of the MLAs asked how it would topple the AAP government which has 92 MLAs, they were told that they just needed 35 MLAs to topple the government as they were in touch with legislators from other parties.
He alleged that the Congress MLAs were "bought" in Madhya Pradesh and other states. "May be here also they (BJP) are in touch with them (Congress MLAs)."  He also claimed that the BJP kept Rs 1,375 crore for breaking 55 MLAs away in Punjab.
 "The BJP wants to spend Rs 1,375 crore in Punjab to topple the AAP government," Cheema said, adding that the saffron party had earlier tried to topple the AAP government in Delhi with Rs 800 crore.
 AAP leader Cheema alleged the BJP earlier tried to "murder" democracy in Delhi and same attempt was being made in Punjab but it cannot be successful in its attempt.             The AAP MLAs, leaders and workers stand with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann like a rock, he said.
 Seven to 10 MLAs were approached directly or indirectly by the BJP through its people, he said.            When asked about names of MLAs who were approached, Cheema said, "Many MLAs have got calls. It is a matter of investigation." The CBI and the ED were already after the AAP leaders in Punjab, he alleged.
"Our legal team will see at which forum legal action will be taken (in the matter). At this stage, we cannot disclose the names of MLAs. In the coming time, our MLAs will come forward and we will present proof and electronic records before the public," said Cheema.
When pointed out that the AAP government has police and intelligence under it and why it was waiting for action in the matter, Cheema said, "Very soon, legal action will be taken as our legal experts are working on it."            Among those people from the BJP who approached the MLAs included some from Punjab and some from Delhi, said Cheema.             Punjab BJP general secretary Jeevan Gupta, while slamming the AAP for its allegations, said, "The AAP government has failed in fulfilling its guarantees and when people ask questions about them, they try to divert attention by making such false accusations."            BJP leader Anil Sareen asked Cheema to immediately make public from where their MLAs received calls and who tried to lure them. He demanded that either Cheema should publicly declare phone numbers from where the calls were received or quit his post.
Meanwhile, Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring ridiculed the allegations levelled by the AAP, claiming that the BJP was trying to poach its MLAs.
“No doubt the BJP is quite capable of doing that and has a history of poaching opposition MLAs and destabilizing the governments, buying MLAs and stealing popular mandate. But in this case, the AAP appears to be trying to divert public attention from its own failures,” Warring said in a statement.
“Or maybe there is some revolt brewing within the AAP that MLAs are feeling restless and the party leadership is trying to pre-empt any such move,” he said.

The ruling AAP in Punjab on Tuesday accused the BJP of offering Rs 20-25 crore each to its MLAs in an attempt to topple the Bhagwant Mann government in the state.
The Punjab BJP dubbed the allegations as "baseless" and "bundle of lies" and said AAP is trying to divert attention of people from its "failures".
Addressing the media here, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema alleged that under the BJP's "Operation Lotus", some AAP legislators in the state have been approached.
The senior AAP leader claimed that seven to 10 AAP MLAs have been approached with offers of money and ministerial positions.
&nbsp;"Our MLAs in Punjab are being contacted. They are being contacted telephonically by some people of the BJP who were sent by the BJP's central leadership to break our legislators away from the party," said Cheema.
"They approached our MLAs and told them that their meeting will be arranged with 'vadde baau ji' and with big leaders in Delhi, and also offered them Rs 25 crore each," he said.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Cheema alleged that the AAP MLAs were offered ministerial positions if the BJP forms the government.
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The state finance minister further alleged, "They were told if you bring three-four MLAs, then you will be offered Rs 50-70 crore." &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Cheema said when one of the MLAs asked how it would topple the AAP government which has 92 MLAs, they were told that they just needed 35 MLAs to topple the government as they were in touch with legislators from other parties.
He alleged that the Congress MLAs were "bought" in Madhya Pradesh and other states. "May be here also they (BJP) are in touch with them (Congress MLAs)."&nbsp; He also claimed that the BJP kept Rs 1,375 crore for breaking 55 MLAs away in Punjab.
&nbsp;"The BJP wants to spend Rs 1,375 crore in Punjab to topple the AAP government," Cheema said, adding that the saffron party had earlier tried to topple the AAP government in Delhi with Rs 800 crore.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia will visit Gujarat for two days from Monday during which they will address a gathering and hold discussions on employment and education with youth ahead of the state Assembly polls due later this year.
Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party and Sisodia, who is the education minister of Delhi, will meet people in Himmatnagar and Bhavnagar, Gujarat AAP's general secretary Manoj Sorathiya said in a video statement.
Their visit comes amid a row over alleged irregularities in Delhi's excise policy and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registering an FIR against Sisodia.
After landing at the Ahmedabad airport on Monday, Kejriwal and Sisodia will also hold a joint press conference in the city before starting their programmes in the state.
Kejriwal will on Monday attend a town hall programme in Himatnagar where he will make "an important announcement for the people of Gujarat," Sorathiya said.
This will be his fourth visit to Gujarat this month.
"On Tuesday, Kejriwal and Sisodia will hold discussions on employment and education with youth in Bhavnagar," Sorathiya said.
The Gujarat Assembly elections are due in December this year.

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday launched a national mission to make India the number one country in the world and called on all citizens and political parties to join it.
Providing free education and healthcare to citizens, employment to youths, equal rights and dignity to women and fair price to farmers for their produce are needed to achieve the goal, he said.
Kejriwal said he will travel across the country as part of the mission -- 'Make India No. 1' -- to encourage people to join the initiative and achieve its objectives.
He said the mission is apolitical in nature.
"This is not the mission of a political party, it's a national mission. I call upon the BJP and all other parties to come forward and join this initiative to make India the number one country in the world," the chief minister said.

A day after Kejriwal joined the debate on freebies calling for a referendum on spending taxpayers' money on healthcare and education, Sitharaman said that spending on these two has never been called or classified as freebies since Independence and to drag them now into the debate is to give a perverse twist.
"Delhi Chief Minister has given perverse twist to the debate on freebies. Health and education have never been called freebies," she told reporters here.
"No Indian government has ever denied them since Independence. So, by classifying education and health as freebies, Kerjiwal is trying to bring in a sense of worry and fear in minds of poor," she said.
In recent days, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hit out competitive populism of extending "rewaris" (freebies) which are not just wastage of taxpayers' money but also an economic disaster that could hamper India's drive to become Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant).

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Sunday alleged that the Centre tried to hijack an event of the Arvind Kejriwal government at the Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary with the Delhi Police putting up banners carrying pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the venue last night.
No immediate reaction was available from the police.
He said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was supposed to attend the event but decided not to participate in it following the incident.
Kejriwal had also skipped the weekly meeting with Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Friday, against the backdrop of the LG recommending a CBI probe into alleged lapses and irregularities in the implementation of the Delhi government's excise policy.
Rai alleged the Delhi Police acted on the directions of the prime minister's office.
The 'Van Mahotsav' which started from the Central Ridge on July 11 was to culminate with the plantation of 1 lakh saplings at the Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary on Sunday.
"The Delhi Police reached the location of the event and took control of the pandal last night. They forcibly put up banners carrying pictures of PM Modi... Banners carrying photos of Lieutenant Governor (VK Saxena) and Chief Minister Kejriwal were taken down," Rai alleged at a press conference.
The Delhi Police warned people not to touch banners carrying pictures of PM Modi while the banners belonging to the AAP government were torn down, he claimed.
The lieutenant governor and the chief minister were supposed to attend the event and all preparations had been made, he said.
"An event of the Kejriwal government has been turned into a political event of PM Modi and he was not even going to attend it... Following the incident, the Delhi chief minister and I have now decided not to participate in the programme," Rai said.
However, the LG participated in the event.
Attempts are being made to malign the Delhi government. Satyendar Jain was arrested on frivolous charges. Now a conspiracy is being hatched to arrest Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. The CM had to go to Singapore but the file was stalled, Rai said.
He alleged the incidents that have transpired in the last one and half months could not have happened "without the go ahead from the PMO".
“Who doesn’t know your face and name, PM Modi... But sending police to put up your photos in the dark of the night shows you have developed a deep-seated fear of Kejriwal,” Rai said.
He said the police are supposed to ensure the safety and security of people and not put up banners of PM Modi.
"I wonder what message they want to send out to people. This is not the first time we are conducting a tree plantation event," the minister said.
Rai told reporters that the banners carrying pictures of PM Modi were put up on an LED screen installed to show educational programmes to children.
“We do not want to fight anyone. We will continue our plantation drive. So far, we have planted around 9 lakh saplings. The target is to plant 35 lakh saplings this year,” he said.

He alleged the incidents that have transpired in the last one and half months could not have happened "without the go ahead from the PMO".
&ldquo;Who doesn&rsquo;t know your face and name, PM Modi... But sending police to put up your photos in the dark of the night shows you have developed a deep-seated fear of Kejriwal,&rdquo; Rai said.
He said the police are supposed to ensure the safety and security of people and not put up banners of PM Modi.
"I wonder what message they want to send out to people. This is not the first time we are conducting a tree plantation event," the minister said.
Rai told reporters that the banners carrying pictures of PM Modi were put up on an LED screen installed to show educational programmes to children.
&ldquo;We do not want to fight anyone. We will continue our plantation drive. So far, we have planted around 9 lakh saplings. The target is to plant 35 lakh saplings this year,&rdquo; he said.

The Punjab Police on Friday said it has arrested Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga from his residence in the national capital in connection with a case registered against him in Mohali last month.

The FIR registered on April 1 referred to Bagga's remarks on March 30, when he was part of a BJP youth wing protest outside the Delhi chief minister's residence.
The Delhi BJP spokesperson came under fire from the AAP, which is ruling both Delhi and Punjab, for his tweet against Kejriwal over 'The Kashmir Files' movie.
Bagga's arrest triggered a strong reaction from the BJP which accused the Punjab Police of "abducting" the party spokesperson, and alleged that AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal is pursuing vendetta through the state police. It also alleged that Kejriwal has a "dictatorial mindset".
BJP leader from Punjab and the party's national general secretary Tarun Chugh tweeted, "The manner in which Kejriwal is misusing Punjab Police is condemnable. The Punjab Police has arrested Bagga from his home." "They behaved inhumanly with Bagga and his father. But remember (Arvind) Kejriwal Ji, your such acts cannot scare a true Sikh," he said in the tweet.
Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta said a complaint has been lodged at the Janakpuri police station in the national capital over the Punjab Police allegedly beating Bagga's father.
"FIR was lodged at Janakpuri police station over the Punjab Police beating Tajinder Bagga's father. Sending 50-60 Punjab Police personnel to the house of the young BJP leader, forcibly lifting him and getting his elderly father beaten up is proof of the dictatorial mindset of Arvind Kejriwal," he tweeted in Hindi.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa alleged that a Sikh, a reference to Bagga, has been "insulted" despite Punjab having a Sikh chief minister in Bhagwant Mann.  Bagga had been "unmasking" Kejriwal's lies, and that is why he has been targeted, Sirsa said at a press conference.  Another Delhi BJP leader, Nupur Sharma, cited a court ruling to say that police from another state must inform local police before making any arrest. Punjab Police's action, she said, was illegal as it did not inform its Delhi counterparts.  In the morning, Delhi BJP leader Kapil Mishra claimed that "over 50 Punjab police personnel arrested Tejinder Bagga from his house. It seems Arvind Kejriwal has used the Punjab Police's might to silence Bagga".
In a video posted on Twitter, he alleged the Punjab Police was being "misused" against activists and not for maintaining law and order in the state.
Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said the party strongly condemns the arrest of Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga.
"It's highly shameful that Kejriwal has started political misuse of power and the police in AAP-ruled Punjab to scare his opponents. Every citizen of Delhi stands with Bagga and his family in this hour of crisis," he said.
Following the arrest, the Punjab Police, in a statement, said "The accused was served five notices under Sections 41 A CrPC to come and join the investigation. The notices dated April 9, 11, 15, 22 and 28 were duly served upon. Despite that, the accused deliberately did not join the investigation." "On Friday morning, by following due process of law, the accused has been arrested from his home in Janakpuri, New Delhi. He is being brought to Punjab and will be produced before a court," it said, adding that further investigation was on.
The FIR against Bagga was registered under relevant IPC sections, including 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place, etc.), 505 (whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement, rumour or report) and 506 (criminal intimidation).  According to the Punjab Police statement, the FIR was based on a complaint about "instigation/incitement/criminal intimidation to cause violence, use of force, imminent hurt in a predesigned and orchestrated manner by making/publishing provocative, false and communal inflammatory statements through his interview given to the media and through his Twitter posts".

The Kejriwal government on Wednesday banned the storage, sale and use of firecrackers in the national capital.
The AAP&nbsp;government had in 2020 also, placed a ban on the sale of crackers, but Kejriwal&nbsp;tweeted that the previous ban had been imposed too late.&nbsp;
