Asserting that there are no differences between him and his deputy D K Shivakumar, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said that they both are running the government unitedly, and will continue to do so in the future too.
Reiterating that both of them will abide by the decision of the Congress high command on the leadership issue, he said, Shivakumar will become the CM, when the high command decides.
In an apparent display of unity, Siddaramaiah on Tuesday visited Shivakumar's residence for breakfast, just days after the two broke bread in the wake of a raging power tussle.
"This understanding will always be there. There are no differences. D K Shivakumar and I are united; we run the government unitedly. In the future also we will run the government unitedly," Siddaramaiah told reporters after the breakfast meeting.
On the leadership issue, he said, as decided in the previous breakfast meeting organised at the CM's residence on Saturday, both of them will abide by the high command's decision.
So far, there is no communication from the high command on the timeline for any decision on the matter. The CM, in response to a question said, "If they (high command) call us, we will definitely go and meet them. Tomorrow, I will be meeting AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal at a function, where both of us are invited."
Asked when Shivakumar will become the CM, Siddaramaiah said, "When the high command says."
Stating that he was invited by Shivakumar for breakfast, he said, after the breakfast, he and Deputy CM discussed regarding the upcoming legislature session starting from December 8 at Belagavi and the strategy to be adopted, also on organising a meeting of MPs from Karnataka in Delhi during the ongoing Parliament session on December 8 to discuss on issues concerning the state.
Regarding the cabinet reshuffle, Siddaramaiah said, the high command has to take a decision on it. Shivakumar, replying to a question, said that all MLAs are united in the Congress party and there are no differences.
Following the initial breakfast meeting on Saturday, at the CM's official residence, as part of an attempt by the Congress high command to break the logjam over the leadership row involving the two leaders, both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar had publicly stated that "there won't be any confusion", and that they would obey the high command on the leadership issue.

Siddaramaiah drove down to the Deputy CM's Sadashivanagar residence here, where he was received by Shivakumar and his brother and former Congress MP D K Suresh.
Suresh and Kunigal MLA H D Ranganath (a relative of Shivakumar), joined the two leaders for breakfast, which apparently had a combination of veg and non-veg dishes.
"Hosted the Hon'ble CM for breakfast at my residence today as we reaffirm our commitment to good governance and the continued development of our state under the Congress vision," Shivakumar posted on 'X'.

Though this is being projected as a reciprocal visit, after Shivakumar visited the CM's official residence three days ago for a similar breakfast meeting, the political ramifications of it are being keenly watched, as it is taking place as per the directions of the Congress high command.
On Monday, Shivakumar had said that he and CM were "working like brothers", while asserting that there were no groups in the state Congress, and blamed the media for creating confusion.

"It's a good thing that our leaders are getting together again for breakfast. All we want is a peaceful settlement of whatever has happened over the month or so. As suggested by the high command, they are meeting for the second time. I hope all the issues are settled," he told reporters here.
Stating that it is just a reciprocal breakfast meeting, and nothing else, he said, "Siddaramaiah had called Shivakumar, and now Shivakumar has called Siddaramaiah. It's a nice development. We see it as a nice development."
On other leaders not being invited for the breakfast meeting, Parameshwara said, "We normally have a CLP (Congress Legislature Party) meeting, which is followed by dinner together. There is nothing wrong with it. We also feel that everything is going smoothly."
Regarding the demand from some sections to see him as CM, Parameshwara said, "Different people have different aspirations. I don't think it is wrong. Naturally, people want to see their own leaders (as CM), and express their aspirations when the time comes."

However, Siddaramaiah said he is yet to receive a formal invitation and would go on receiving it, while Shivakumar maintained that it's a matter between him and the CM, and that they were working like "brothers".
In an attempt to break the logjam over the leadership row involving the two leaders, Shivakumar had visited the CM's residence for a similar breakfast meeting, convened by Siddaramaiah at the behest of the Congress high command.
Following the initial meeting held on Saturday both leaders had publicly stated that "there won't be any confusion".
On the leadership issue, Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar maintained that they would obey the high command.
The development is seen as a move by the high command to pause the leadership tussle between the two, and signals Siddaramaiah's continuation as the CM for time being, especially ahead of the Belagavi legislature session from December 8.
"As told by the CM on Saturday, he is scheduled to visit Shivakumar's residence for breakfast tomorrow," official sources said.
However, speaking to reporters on Monday, Siddaramaiah said, "On that day (Saturday) he (Shivakumar) asked me to come to his house for breakfast on Tuesday. I have not received any call till now, other than what he said day before yesterday. If invited, I will go. He may call. I think he will invite me."
Meanwhile, responding to a question if he has extended an invitation to the CM to join him for breakfast, Shivakumar said, "It's a matter related to me and the CM, we both are working like brothers."
"We met under your (media) pressure (on November 29). There was no need for it. You are alleging groupism, but there are no groups. You are creating groups -- DK group , Siddaramaiah group and others," the state Congress chief said.
Asserting that he is not in any group, Shivakumar added, "I have 140 people (MLAs) with me."
"When we are born or die, we are alone. When it comes to the party, we will take everyone together. There is no need for anyone to worry."

Shivakumar on Thursday wrote on social media, "keeping one's word is the greatest strength in the world! Word power is world power." In the same post, he added, "The biggest force in the world was to keep one's word."

The cryptic post is seen as his reminder to the Congress and Siddaramaiah about a rumoured power-sharing agreement between the two in 2023 when both vied for the CM's chair after the party swept the state polls.
In his post explaining how he "bettered the world", Siddaramaiah spoke about the five guarantee schemes -- Shakti, Gruha Lakshmi, Yuva Nidhi, Anna Bhagya and Gruha Jyoti.
These are schemes in various sectors including providing free electricity, cash dole to women heads and free bus rides for women.
Siddaramaiah said that in his first term from 2013 to 2018, 157 of 165 promises were fulfilled with over 95 per cent delivery. In the current term, over 243 assurances out of 593 are already completed, and "every remaining promise will be fulfilled with commitment, credibility, and care", he added.
"The mandate given by the people of Karnataka is not a moment, but a responsibility that lasts five full years. The Congress party, including me, is walking the talk for our people with compassion, consistency, and courage. Our word to Karnataka is not a slogan, it means the world to us," the Chief Minister said.
There was stiff competition between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar for the chief minister's post after the declaration of Assembly election results on 20 May 2023, and the Congress had managed to convince the latter and made him the Deputy CM.
There were some reports at the time that a compromise had been reached based on a "rotational chief minister formula," according to which Shivakumar will become CM after 2.5 years, but they have not been officially confirmed by the party.
However, Siddaramaiah rejected these reports and asserted that he will be the chief minister for five years.
MLAs and ministers loyal to Shivakumar have been going to Delhi to impress upon the party high command to make their leader Chief Minister "as agreed upon", Congress sources said.

Shivakumar, who is also the state Congress President, said that he doesn't want to cause any embarrassment for the party and weaken it.

If karyakartas are there, we are there," Shivakumar said in response to a question about whether him becoming the CM would be final.
Speaking to reporters in his home constituency, Kanakapura, he said, "The CM has spoken. He is a senior leader. He is an asset for the party. He has completed 7.5 years as CM (including an earlier 5 years term from 2013-2018)."
Siddaramaiah has said that he will be presenting the next budget too. "I'm very happy. He had served as opposition leader in the past. He has also worked and built the party. We should all work together with the target of 2028 (assembly polls) and target 2029 (Lok Sabha polls)," he further said.
When told that the people of Bengaluru South (earlier Ramanagara) had given all the four seats in the district to Congress to see him as the CM, Shivakumar said he had not asked anyone for anything.
"During the election time, I had gone to all constituencies, including Mahadevappa (Minister close to Siddaramaiah), to vote looking at my face. I have asked everywhere in Mandya too. I don't dispute it. People have voted. In all 224 assembly segments karyakartas have worked tirelessly more than us and have brought this government to power. The MLAs and ministers are the beneficiaries," he said.
To a question on legislators backing him traveling to Delhi to meet high command with a demand to make him the CM, Shivakumar said he was not aware of it, and that they might be making efforts to become ministers. "I have not telephoned or called any of them (legislators) or spoken to them. I'm not asking them why they went. I don't need it," he said.
A batch of six Congress legislators backing Shivakumar had traveled to New Delhi on November 23 to meet the high command leaders, party sources said on Monday, adding that a few more legislators are likely to travel soon to pitch for Shivakumar as CM.
Last week, some legislators, about ten of them, supporting Shivakumar had travelled to Delhi and met Kharge, as the Congress government completed 2.5 years in office on November 20.
Asked whether there was a power-sharing agreement after the Assembly polls in 2023, Shivakumar said, "Why should I speak about it. You (media) have written things."
Not willing to comment on the statements of other leaders from within the party and opposition on the CM change issue, he said he was not a spokesperson for any of them.
When told that his supporters and party workers were offering prayers for him to become the CM, he said, "Prayers offered today are not that important when compared to prayers offered by mothers and sisters, youths, elders and workers when I was in jail. They prayed that I should be released.... today I'm Deputy CM and party president. They prayed when I did not have any of these positions. They stood by me and gave me moral courage. That's big."
While Siddaramaiah is pushing for a reshuffle of his Cabinet, Shivakumar wants the party to first decide on leadership change, party sources said. According to several party insiders, if the Congress high command approves the Cabinet reshuffle, it would signal that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will complete the full five-year term, which will scuttle the chances of Shivakumar from occupying the coveted post.

A minister and few MLAs loyal to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar headed to New Delhi on Thursday to meet the Congress top brass, indicating a power tussle in the ruling party, sources said.
The development came a day after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah completed two-and-a-half years in office.
There was stiff competition between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar for the chief minister's post after the declaration of Assembly election results on May 20, 2023. The Congress had managed to convince the latter and make him the deputy chief minister.
There were some reports at the time that a compromise had been reached based on a "rotational chief minister formula," according to which Shivakumar will become chief minister after two-and-a-half years, but they have not been officially confirmed by the party.
However, Siddaramaiah rejected these reports and asserted that he will be the chief minister for five years. Some Shivakumar loyalists are said to have wanted their leader to occupy the chief minister's chair.
According to sources, Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy, MLAs Iqbal Hussain, H C Balakrishna and S R Srinivas have headed to Delhi on Thursday. Twelve more MLAs are likely to reach Delhi on Friday, they said.
A few days ago, about a dozen MLCs had camped in the national capital and spoke to the Congress general secretaries, sources said.
Addressing a gathering in Chamarajanagar on Thursday, Siddaramaiah hinted that he would continue as the chief minister. He emphasised that his position has been strong from the beginning and will continue to remain so in the future.
Reacting to the MLAs heading to Delhi, Shivakumar said he is not aware of it and that he is not keeping well.
When a reporter pointed out Siddaramaiah's assertion that he will remain chief minister for the full five-year term, he said, "I am very glad about it. No one has said no. No one questioned that he will not be the chief minister. Our party has given him responsibility to him to work as the chief minister. We all are working together."
Regarding some Congress MLCs meeting him at his residence, the deputy chief minister said the meeting was about having the legislative council chairman and deputy chairman from the Congress.
Meanwhile, Shivakumar's brother and former MP D K Suresh said Siddaramaiah never backtracks from his promises.
When asked whether Siddaramaiah would keep his promise made to Shivakumar, Suresh said he has no clue about it. "You should ask about big things only to big people. How can I answer such questions?" he asked reporters in Bengaluru.
Suresh said his brother had communicated to party seniors whatever was needed. "The matter is now left to the party, its leadership, the AICC president and Rahul Gandhi to decide," he added.

"When I first became finance minister, a newspaper wrote -- this Siddaramaiah (a Kuruba) can't count a hundred sheep, how will he function as Karnataka's finance minister -- I accepted this as a challenge..... I have presented 16 budgets. Next, I will present the 17th budget," Siddaramaiah said, drawing loud applause.
The 2026-27 budget is likely to be presented in March next year, and preparatory work has already begun.
Siddaramaiah's comments come amid speculations about a possible leadership change in the state, when the Congress government reaches the halfway mark of its five-year term in November.
There was stiff competition between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar for the chief minister's post after the declaration of Assembly election results in May 2023, and the Congress had managed to convince the latter and made him the Deputy CM.
There were some reports at the time that a compromise had been reached based on a "rotational chief minister formula," according to which Shivakumar will become CM after two-and-a-half years, but they have not been officially confirmed by the party.

Elon Musk-owned X through its official handle said orders issued by police officers to arbitrarily take down content from its platform through a "secretive online portal called the Sahyog" is a violation of Indian citizens' constitutional rights to freedom of speech and expression.
"X respects and complies with Indian law, but this order fails to address the core constitutional issues in our challenge and is inconsistent with the Bombay High Court's recent ruling that a similar regime was unconstitutional," the social media platform said on Monday.
The Karnataka High Court had on Wednesday dismissed X Corp's petition challenging the authority of government officials to issue content takedown orders under the Information Technology Act and maintained that social media needs to be regulated.
The bench presided over by Justice M Nagaprasanna stressed on regulation of social media, especially in cases of offences against women.
It further said the Indian marketplace cannot be presumed as a mere playground where information can be disseminated in defiance of statutes or disregard to legality.
"We respectfully disagree with the view that we have no right to raise these concerns because of our incorporation abroad -- X contributes significantly to public discourse in India and the voice of our users is at the heart of our platform. We will appeal this order to defend free expression," X said.
The social media firm said it is deeply concerned by the recent order from the Karnataka court, which will allow millions of police officers to issue arbitrary takedown orders through a secretive online portal called the Sahyog.
"This new regime has no basis in the law, circumvents Section 69A of the IT Act, violates Supreme Court rulings, and infringes Indian citizens' constitutional rights to freedom of speech and expression. The Sahyog enables officers to order content removal based solely on allegations of "illegality," without judicial review or due process for speakers, and threatens platforms with criminal liability for non-compliance," X said.

A stream at Narayanpur village in Aurad taluk was also reported in spate.
Bidar Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Sharma declared a holiday for schools and colleges in affected areas as a safety measure.
In Dakshina Kannada district, with the India Meteorological Department issuing an orange alert and forecasting heavy rainfall, the district administration declared a holiday on Thursday (August 28), for all anganwadi centres, primary and high schools, government-aided and private institutions, and pre-university colleges in Mangaluru, Puttur, Mulki, Moodbidri, Ullal and Bantwal taluks.
Parents have been advised to ensure children stay away from low-lying areas, lakes, seashores and riversides.
Fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea. Taluk-level officers have been instructed to remain at headquarters. Nodal officers have been asked to stay alert and respond to public complaints, and tahsildars have been directed to maintain constant contact with the administration.
The Meteorological Centre, Bengaluru, has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph at isolated places over the next three hours.
A yellow alert has been sounded for Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Kalaburagi and Bidar districts.
According to IMD, temporary power disruptions, minor traffic snarls and uprooting of weak tree branches are likely. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was being misused for political purposes, and cited his own case as an example of such "abuse".
Speaking to reporters in Kodihalli, Kanakapura on Monday, he said the Supreme Court's observations in the MUDA case, where it dismissed the ED's appeal, reflected a pattern of selective targeting.
"My case itself is proof of the ED being misused politically. They filed a case against me, sent me to Tihar Jail, and eventually the case was dropped," he said.
The Deputy CM urged the ED to introspect and examine whether it is succumbing to political pressure.
Referring to the MUDA case, he said, "Once a 'B' report was submitted, there was no question of further appeal. That is probably why the Supreme Court made such observations." Shivakumar questioned why ED cases were being filed only against Congress leaders.
"Why are there no ED cases against BJP leaders? Why are only Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Robert Vadra and other Congress leaders targeted? Has everyone who joined the BJP suddenly become pure? Isn't this the BJP's washing machine?" he asked.
Shivakumar's remarks follow the Supreme Court's dismissal of the Special Leave Petitions (SLPs) filed by the ED in the MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) land allotment case involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi B M and Congress MLA Byrathi Suresh.
The Karnataka High Court had earlier quashed the ED's notices in the case, observing that the agency acted without legal basis under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The Supreme Court upheld that decision, stating that it found no fault in the High Court's ruling.
The MUDA case involves the allotment of compensatory sites to Parvathi in an upmarket Mysuru locality in lieu of 3.16 acres of land acquired from her by MUDA.
The ED had issued notices alleging irregularities in the allotment, but the courts have now rejected those proceedings.

"Hello. I am writing to let you know that I have placed several explosive devices (Trinitrotoluene) within school classrooms. The explosives are skillfully hidden, in black plastic bags," it stated.
Authorities of a number of schools immediately alerted police, who reached the institutions concerned with the bomb disposal squads and anti-sabotage check teams, they said.
The students and staff were immediately evacuated from the premises, police said, adding no suspicious objects were found.
"At least four schools in the Central division (Bengaluru police) limits received a bomb threat email this morning, triggering panic. All necessary measures were taken as per protocol. Nothing suspicious was found, and it turned out to be a hoax email," a senior police officer said.
Besides, Central division, schools located in other police divisions of the Bengaluru City Police are also said to have received bomb threat emails, which later turned out to be a hoax, but the exact number of schools has not been confirmed by the police yet.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, speaking to reporters in Mysuru, said, "I got to know about it (bomb threats to schools), I have asked officials to check whether it is a hoax bomb threat." Asked about such repeated incidents of threats, he said, "We are bringing a law against fake news, giving false information, instigation, among others." Home Minister G Parameshwara said that the police will not take such threat messages lightly and are verifying them.
"There were instances of bomb threat calls and mails in Bengaluru and other parts of the state early too. They come now in the same way. We will verify which schools have received calls and emails. We will not take anything lightly, we will verify everything," he said.

Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries M B Patil on Tuesday said he, along with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, would meet Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to request the sanctioning of two defence corridor projects for the state.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to meet Singh in the national capital on Wednesday evening.
"As the country&rsquo;s leading contributor to the aerospace and defence sector, Karnataka deserves two defence corridors&mdash;one in the Kolar&ndash;Chikkaballapura region and the other in the Hubballi&ndash;Belagavi belt. We will present this request during our meeting with Rajnath Singh," Patil said.
Speaking to reporters, he said there was a need for one corridor each in south and north Karnataka, pointing out that leading companies such as Aequs already operate in Belagavi.
Noting that Karnataka should have been granted a defence corridor when Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh were allotted theirs, Patil said even the central government had realised this oversight, and Rajnath Singh himself had acknowledged it.
He added that the matter was also discussed during Rajnath Singh&rsquo;s participation in the Global Investors Meet&mdash;Invest Karnataka 2025.
"We are not against projects being sanctioned for other states. We are only demanding what Karnataka rightfully deserves," he said.
Patil also mentioned that the Chairman of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) had recently met him and assured government support for land requirements.
Highlighting Karnataka&rsquo;s 65 per cent contribution to the country&rsquo;s aerospace and defence sector, Patil said the state ranks first nationally and third globally in this domain.
"The state is home to major players such as HAL, Safran, Boeing, Airbus, Collins, and Lockheed Martin. We already have an aerospace park near the Devanahalli airport. To further strengthen our position, the government now proposes another aerospace and defence park nearby. Farmers who lose their land will be compensated under the Land Acquisition Act, 2013," he said.
Farmer representatives and organisations have been protesting against the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board&rsquo;s (KIADB) notification for acquiring fertile land in Devanahalli for the proposed park.
CM Siddaramaiah will meet the farmers&rsquo; representatives on July 15 to clarify the government's stand. He had recently cited legal constraints, as the final notification for acquisition had already been issued.
In response to a question, Patil urged actor Prakash Raj to raise his voice against land acquisition in other states as well, just as he has done in Karnataka over the Devanahalli project.
"Here in Devanahalli, the government plans to acquire just 1,282 acres for the proposed hi-tech aerospace and defence park. In contrast, neighbouring Andhra Pradesh has acquired 10,000 acres from Madakasira to Penukonda for a similar project and is offering the land free of cost," he said.
Additionally, he said the Chandrababu Naidu-led Andhra Pradesh government has acquired another 45,000 acres for industrial use.
"It's been widely reported that Andhra Pradesh has allotted land to companies such as Infosys, Cognizant, and TCS at just 99 paise per acre. Does Prakash Raj not see these developments?" he asked.
Patil further noted that the Tamil Nadu government has been actively expanding industries in Hosur, just 50 km from Bengaluru, and also plans to build an international airport there.
For such projects, land is being allotted at highly subsidised rates. If Andhra succeeds in attracting the aerospace and defence park, companies in this sector may shift operations there, resulting in massive losses for Karnataka, he warned.
Clarifying his remarks, Patil said he "held no personal grudge" against Prakash Raj.

Similar conditions are expected to persist along the coast for the next two days, gradually decreasing in intensity thereafter, though light to moderate rain is likely to continue, the statement added.
In north interior Karnataka, Belagavi district is likely to receive "heavy to very heavy rain" with wind speeds of 40&ndash;50 kmph on July 3 and 4.

By lying they are trying to mislead the people," he added.
Responding to a question on ministerial aspirants in the Congress, the CM said the Congress high command will decide.
"In a democracy, everyone has the right to become a CM. The high command (of Congress) will ultimately decide. There are about 140 people (legislators) in our party. Only 34 people can be made ministers. Can everybody be made minister?" he asked.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to seek the Centre's support for a pro-growth approach in tax devolution among states by the 16th Finance Commission.
During the meeting, Siddaramaiah briefed Sitharaman on Karnataka's significant losses under the 15th Finance Commission award, an official statement said.
The state's share in tax devolution declined from 4.713 per cent to 3.647 per cent -- a reduction of over 23 per cent. Karnataka was also denied Rs 11,495 crore in special grants, resulting in a total loss of Rs 80,000 crore during the award period.
The chief minister attributed this decline primarily to the over-reliance on the income-distance criterion, which received 45 per cent weightage under the 15th Finance Commission.
Karnataka has requested the 16th Finance Commission to reduce the weightage for income-distance by 20 percentage points and reallocate it to fiscal contribution -- the state's share in national GDP.
The state has also proposed discontinuing Revenue Deficit Grants in their current format, arguing they contradict fiscal discipline principles outlined in the FRBM framework. Instead, Karnataka suggested redistributing the same amount -- 1.92 per cent of Gross Union Receipts under the 15th Finance Commission -- among all states using the horizontal devolution formula.
Siddaramaiah highlighted the developmental challenges facing Bengaluru, Kalyana Karnataka and Malenadu regions, emphasising that fair and pro-growth devolution would accelerate the state's growth trajectory.
The chief minister clarified that Karnataka's proposals were not a request for special treatment but would improve overall national resource mobilisation and foster cooperative and competitive federalism.
The meeting concluded with Siddaramaiah requesting the finance minister to include these proposals in the Union government's memorandum to the 16th Finance Commission, arguing that growth-friendly devolution would empower all states to contribute effectively to India's development journey.
The Finance Commission gives suggestions on financial relationship between the Centre and states.
The 16th Finance Commission, set up in December 2023 under the chairmanship of Arvind Panagariya, is expected to give its recommendations by October 31, 2025, which will be applicable for a five-year period beginning April 1, 2026.
The 15th Finance Commission headed by N K Singh had suggested that states be given 41 per cent of the divisible tax pool of the Centre for a five-year period from April 2021 to March 2026.

The Enforcement Directorate on Monday said it has attached assets worth about Rs 4 crore as part of a money laundering investigation against a Karnataka-based woman, who is alleged to have cheated a number of people by threatening and claiming proximity to "high profile" politicians.
Congress leader D K Suresh, the younger brother of Karnataka deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar, appeared before the federal probe agency and recorded his statement in this case on Monday in Bengaluru.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested the woman -- 33-year-old Aishwarya Gowda -- earlier in April following searches against her, Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni and some others.
The provisionally attached properties include flats, building and land worth Rs 2.01 crore apart from cash and Rs 1.97 crore vehicle, the ED said in a statement.
An order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) was issued on June 19 for attaching these properties, it added.
The total value of the attached properties is Rs 3.98 crore, the ED said.
The ED did not specify in the statement as to whom the attached assets belonged to.
The money laundering case against Gowda, her husband Harish K N and some others stems from multiple FIRs filed by Karnataka Police against them.
The allegation in the FIRs is that Gowda, her husband and others have entered into a "criminal conspiracy" to defraud and cheat several individuals by taking gold, cash and funds through bank accounts promising high rate of returns, the agency said.
However, it said, that the accused neither returned the money nor gave the promised return and also "threatened" the investors of dire consequences in case of further pursuance of the matter by "claiming her proximity to various high profile politicians".
Gowda is alleged to have used the name of D K Suresh, a former MP, and claimed to be his sister. Suresh had denied knowing her and filed a police complaint against her.
He spoke to the press in Bengaluru before appearing before the agency.
"The ED issued a notice asking me to appear before the investigation officer at 11 am. So, accordingly, I am reaching there. They had sought some information. So, today I am meeting the ED officers with my lawyer," Suresh said.
He said that this case was unrelated to him.
"I am unable to understand why the notice was served to me. I was the one who had lodged a complaint with the police commissioner against the woman, who had orally said that she is my sister. I have no connection with the cheating case," Suresh said.
