The Delhi Police has arrested a suspected gangster allegedly involved in the firing at comedian Kapil Sharma's restaurant in Canada, an official said on Friday.
The accused, Bandhu Man Singh, is a close associate of Canada-based gangster Goldy Dhillon, who is believed to be involved in multiple extortion rackets targeting businessmen and high-profile individuals abroad, he added.
According to investigators, Singh was coordinating with Dhillon's network and part of a broader conspiracy to target the popular artist's restaurant as an act of intimidation.
A senior police officer said the arrest followed specific intelligence inputs.
"A Chinese pistol along with cartridges was recovered from his possession. His role in the conspiracy and his links with overseas operatives are being further probed," the officer said.
Further investigation is underway to identify additional conspirators and ascertain the extent of the gang's activities in India and abroad, officials said.&nbsp;

Shots have been fired at comedian Kapil Sharma&rsquo;s recently-opened restaurant in Canada&rsquo;s Surrey for the second time in less than a month, police said.
Surrey Police Service (SPS) said its officers are investigating the incident that occurred at the Newton neighbourhood business in the early hours of Thursday.
SPS did not name the business establishment, however, media reports said Sharma's Kap's Cafe was the target of the attack.
&ldquo;At approximately 4:40 am on August 7, 2025, SPS Frontline officers responded to a report of shots fired outside a business in the 8400 block of 120 Street. The same business was the location of a similar incident on July 10, 2025,&rdquo; SPS said.
Police further said that the staff on the premises were not injured while multiple shots caused damage to the windows and the building.
A day after last month&rsquo;s attack, the cafe had said in an Instagram post that they were "processing the shock" but stand firm against violence.
"We opened Kap's Cafe with hopes of bringing warmth, community, and joy through delicious coffee and friendly conversation. To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock but we are not giving up," the cafe said in its statement.
The cafe opened in Surrey, British Columbia, on July 4.

It said "the investigation is continuing and connections to other incidents and potential motives are being examined." The cafe's team also extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Surrey Police and the Delta PD for their "prompt response" and ensuring everyone's safety "during this difficult time." The Vancouver Sun reported that the police do not have a description of the suspect yet and the motive for the shooting has not been determined.
The cafe opened in Surrey, British Columbia, on July 4.

In an interview with Lallantop, Sunil dismissed their infamous fight as a mere &lsquo;publicity stunt&rsquo;.
Sunil Grover joked that the fight was pre-planned during a flight when they heard about Netflix's arrival in India. He also humorously mentioned Netflix India's involvement in the idea.
&lsquo;We were seated on the flight and we learnt that Netflix was coming to India. So, kuch aisa ho ke (acha) publicity stunt ho,&rsquo; Sunil said.

Sunil is reprising his role as Guththi in the show once again, and fans have consistently showered him with love whenever he has portrayed the character.
&lsquo;The Great Indian Kapil Show&rsquo; made its debut on Netflix on March 30. The show's first guests were the Kapoor siblings, Ranbir and Riddhima, with their mother and veteran actress Neetu Kapoor. The trio spoke about the late Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir's bond with his daughter Raha, and a few revelations from their childhood.
In the episode, Sunil's character Guththi was also upset with Ranbir for having married Alia Bhatt.

Comedian Kapil Sharma and actors Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan have sought a week from the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The trio was summoned by the central agency on October 6 in connection to the Mahadev betting app case.
Now, according to the News18 report, Kapil Sharma has informed ED about his shoot abroad due to which he will not be able to appear. Meanwhile, Huma and Hina have cited personal reasons.

Shraddha Kapoor was also summoned by the ED official, but she has not responded as of now. Ranbir Kapoor was also supposed to appear before the agency on October 6 but had sent a mail seeking a time of 1.5 weeks. His request has been accepted.

Ranbir Kapoor was spotted outside a clinic in Mumbai on October 6 morning. As he walked towards the clinic, he asked paparazzi to stay out. &lsquo;Andar mat aana (do not come inside),&rsquo; he said. The reason for Ranbir&rsquo;s visit to the clinic is not known as of now.

Actor-comedian Tirthanand Rao, who has worked with Kapil Sharma in &lsquo;Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe&rsquo;, attempted suicide during a live session on Facebook. In a live video, he claimed that he was in a &lsquo;live-in&rsquo; with a woman, who allegedly emotionally blackmailed him and also extorted money from him. &lsquo;I am in debt of Rs 3-4 lakh because of this woman. I have known her since October last year. She had filed a police complaint against me in Bhayandar and I didn&rsquo;t even know for what reason. Then she would also call me and say she wanted to meet,&rsquo; Tirthanand said. The actor drank insect repellent while narrating his ordeal. Seeing Tirthanand Rao&rsquo;s video, his friends immediately reached his house.
The actor was found in an unconscious state and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Tirthanand Rao attempted suicide in December 2021 too. When News18.com contacted the actor, he revealed, &lsquo;The last two years have been really tough. My financial status is in shambles and I really don&rsquo;t have any savings. I have got some work including a film called Pav Bhaji which is yet to release but they haven&rsquo;t paid me and so have the couple of web-series which I did. There have been days when I haven&rsquo;t eaten anything or just survived on one vada pav. I realised the only way out of this mess is to end up my life.&rsquo;

Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma walked the ramp with his three-year-old daughter Anayra Sharma for the first time at the Beti fashion show in Mumbai on Sunday. He held her hand as she walked along with him with confidence. A video of the same has surfaced online and it is too cute to be missed.
In the viral clip, Anayra, dressed in a black maxi dress, blew kisses at the audience as she walked the ramp, while the comedian waved at them.

The official Twitter handle of the CM announced the news and wrote, 'CM @Naveen_Odisha has approved a proposal to waive off the entertainment tax for 'Zwigato', a film based on the struggling life of a food delivery boy and his family. The Hindi language film has been directed by @nanditadas and its entire shooting has been done in #Bhubaneswar.'
'State Govt is promoting #Odisha as a destination for film shooting via proactive policies. It will promote tourism potential &amp; provide job opportunities for talented youth. CM appreciated efforts of Ms Das for promoting #Odisha as a destination to shoot commercial movies,' the statement concluded.
