Legendary Telugu filmmaker K Viswanath died on Thursday due to age-related ailments. Celebrities like Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi, Mammootty, Radikaa Sarath Kumar, Ravi Teja and Ram Gopal Varma are pouring in their emotional tributes on social media.
Veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who worked with Viswanath in three iconic films, tweeted, &lsquo;Salute to a master (sic).&rsquo; He shared a photo of a handwritten note that read, &lsquo;Kalathapasvi K Viswanath fully understood the transience of life and immortality of art. Hence, his art will be celebrated beyond his lifetime and reign. Long live his art. An ardent fan. Kamal Haasan (sic).&rsquo;
Veteran Telugu actor Chiranjeevi tweeted, &lsquo;Shocked beyond words! Shri K Viswanath &lsquo;s loss is an irreplaceable void to Indian / Telugu Cinema and to me personally! Man of numerous iconic, timeless films! The Legend Will Live on! Om Shanti (sic).&rsquo;
Chiranjeevi had worked with <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/south/veteran-telugu-filmmaker-k-viswanath-passes-away-at-92-1675394587580">Viswanath</a> in &lsquo;Swayam Krushi&rsquo;, &lsquo;Subhalekha&rsquo; and &lsquo;Aapadbhandavadu&rsquo;.
Mammootty, who had worked with Viswanath in &lsquo;Swathi Kiranam&rsquo;, tweeted, &lsquo;Deeply saddened by the demise of Sri K Viswanath Garu. Had the privilege of being directed by him in Swathi Kiranam. My thoughts and prayers with his loved ones (sic).&rsquo;
Actor Radikaa Sarath Kumar tweeted, &lsquo;Viswanath garu. Shanti to a legend. A person in his own way leaves a huge vacuum of his art and thinking. Who made films with a purpose. Who was the calm in a storm. Will miss you dearly (sic).&rsquo;
The legendary filmmaker's last rites are being held today. Chiranjeevi, SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravani and veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao are among others who reached K Viswanath's residence in Hyderabad for final rites.

Legendary Telugu filmmaker K. Viswanath, who is best known for iconic films like 'Sankarabharanam', 'Sagara', 'Swati Muthyam' among others, died at his residence in Hyderabad on Thursday. He was 92. Viswanath, five-time National Award winner, was suffering from age-related ailments.
Viswanath started his career as an audiographer for Vauhini Studios in Madras. After a brief stint as a sound engineer, he began filmmaking under director-screenwriter Adurthi Subba Rao. He worked as an assistant director on 1951 Telugu film &lsquo;Pathala Bhairavi&rsquo;.
&lsquo;Aatma Gowravam&rsquo; (1965) marked his directorial debut which went on to win the state Nandi award.
He became a national phenomenon with the 1980 Telugu film &lsquo;Sankarabharanam&rsquo; that spoke about the gap between Carnatic music and Western music based on the perspective of people from two different generations.
&lsquo;Sankarabharanam&rsquo;, which won four National awards, was later remade in Hindi as &lsquo;Sur Sangam&rsquo;, also directed by Viswanath.
