The platform attracted 11.3 crore viewers on the first day, a 51% increase from the previous year's opening day, and logged 59 crore video views, resulting in 660 crore minutes of watch-time. JioCinema introduced the Brand Spotlight during the first six overs of the opening match, featuring six major brands. By the end of the season, JioCinema had secured 28 sponsors and over 1400 advertisers.

It was all down to a few good deliveries, said Sunrisers Hyderabad assistant coach Simon Helmot as he tried to explain his team's poor batting performance in the IPL final against Kolkata Knight Riders, conceding that the plan to be aggressive fell flat quite early in the match.

"We were not going to change our brand or approach. We wanted to be aggressive but also smart and work the situations through," Helmot said in the post-match press conference.
"Our plan certainly wasn't to get bowled out for 113 in the 18th over. We played in a really positive way, but a few good deliveries (from KKR bowlers) early on put us on the back foot. Unfortunately, it was one of those days," he added.
Batting first, the SRH top-order failed to get going, with the three batters getting dismissed for single figures. Big-hitting opener Travis Head fell for his third duck in four matches, dismissed by left-arm pacer Vaibhav Arora.
"Travis is experienced in playing left-arm pace. We have had games where both he and Abhishek (Sharma) have scored runs," the Australian said.
"Obviously, we couldn't get as much (support) from the middle order as we would have liked, but it was a fairly good ball to get rid of him (Head)," he added.
Hailing KKR's performance this season, Helmot said the Shreyas Iyer-led franchise displayed an aggressive mentality throughout the season.
"We have got to give credit to KKR. They have had a great season, winning 79 per cent of their games and playing an aggressive brand with the bat, ball and on the field. But, we will come (back) hard next season," he continued.
"They (KKR) are a very balanced unit with their four pace bowlers and two very accomplished spinners. They have been a terrific team with an excellent batting depth and are deserving victors in this IPL." KKR pacers had a brilliant day in office with Andre Russell grabbing three wickets, while Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana finishing with two wickets each.
Rana has been the talk of the season and has signed off as the team's second-highest wicket-taker, next to spinner Varun Chakravarthy.
"He is a tricky competitor. He has some variations, especially with the quicker and full balls. He's got those slower ones as well," Helmot said in praise of Rana.
"He certainly has the ability to adapt. There is a rich battery of fast bowlers in India, and that's what the IPL often brings out, which is a good offer for the Indian team. Also, we will be looking for a lot of players like him." When asked to pick positives in SRH's performance this season, Helmot credited pacers T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar along with all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy.
"I think Nattu and Bhuvi had a terrific finish to the season, along with Nitish Reddy, who is also probably one of the best fielders in the competition.
"...it's no fluke that we managed to turn the tables from our (bottom-place) finish last year. We will use it as a catalyst coming into the season next year," he concluded.

Describing them as "unsung heroes", BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Monday announced that groundsmen and curators of all the 10 regular IPL venues will be given Rs 25 lakh each as a token of appreciation for providing "brilliant pitches" during the league.
The IPL concluded in Chennai on Sunday with Kolkata Knight Riders lifting their third overall trophy with an eight-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
"The unsung heroes of our successful T20 season are the incredible ground staff who worked tirelessly to provide brilliant pitches, even in difficult weather conditions," Shah posted on X.
"As a token of our appreciation, the groundsmen and curators at the 10 regular IPL venues will receive INR 25 lakhs each, and the same at the 3 additional venues will get INR 10 lakhs each. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!" he said.
The 10 regular venues for the IPL are Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
The additional venues this year were Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Dharamsala. While Guwahati was the second home venue for Rajasthan Royals, Visakhapatnam hosted Delhi Capitals' first leg of home matches.
Dharamsala served as the second base for Kings XI Punjab. This year's IPL has been talked about for high-scoring matches with the peak team total record shattered twice. The 250-run mark was crossed as many as eight times this season.
Shah also congratulated KKR for their title triumph.
"Congratulations to the @KKRiders for clinching the 2024 #TATAIPL! The team showed great consistency throughout the tournament and kudos to @ShreyasIyer15 for leading the side brilliantly.

After the IPL, Shreyas will have to wait for more game time as he is not a part of India's squad for the T20 World Cup.
The Mumbaikar hoped to keep in touch with the game.
"All we demanded from ourselves was to back each other whatever the situation is. Looking forward to playing more competitive cricket," he said.
The elegant right-hander reserved a special word of praise for Mitchell Starc, whose two wickets in the Power Play denied SRH early momentum.
"That's when all the big players stand up, right! It was a high-pressure game and he's been so good off the field. He's never shown any complacency in his work ethic. He stepped up to the right occasion," he noted.
The Mumbai man also heaped accolades on all-rounder Andre Russell, who produced a three-wicket burst in the final.

Will it rain during the IPL final?

Can they beat SRH in the final dance or will the Sunrisers avenge 2 losses this season when it matters the most? Here is everything you need to know before IPL 2024 final.

It's been 10 years since a Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata Knight Riders turned a poor start around and lifted the IPL title back in 2014 and it's once again a Guru Gambhir-mentored KKR who is just 1 step away from ending their 10-year IPL trophy drought.
But standing in their way are the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who might have lost both of their games against the Knights from Kolkata this season but none of that matters in the ultimate showdown.
Marquee sporting clashes always pit one leader against another but this IPL final will be about Gambhir's brain, which is always ticking against Pat Cummins the captain, who has transcended boundaries to turn into a leader of men.
Somewhere along the line, KKR's Shreyas Iyer, who is playing his second final as skipper, has turned into bit of a side-show as a global cricketing royalty in Cummins faces an IPL czar in Gambhir.
A decade ago, no one would have placed a bet on Cummins being a captain and winning the ODI World Cup, World Test Championship and Ashes in a space of six months, and now, leading SRH to their maiden IPL title would be the icing on the cake.
"A very practical guy, very humble, very empathetic to his fellow teammates and coaching staff. He is into the statistics and gets the information that he needs against a particular opposition in certain conditions," SRH assistant coach Simon Helmot described the skipper in a nutshell after the team's win against Rajasthan Royals in the second Qualifier.
"He doesn't waste time in (team) meetings. Our team meeting today was 35 seconds. But, a lot of information has already been spoken about," he said.
The two teams met in the first qualifier in which KKR outwitted SRH with clever bowling plans on a massive Motera ground and in Chennai, Iyer's men will again start as favourites.
The last time KKR played an IPL final in Chennai, it was against Chennai Super Kings in 2012 in one of the most epic contests, which established Gambhir's credentials as an astute leader of men.
He not only had the right game plan but also had his heart in the right place during those heady years.
Gambhir went on to win another title in 2014, which made him a sentimental favourite and now he is on the cusp of becoming the man, who as captain and mentor has won the IPL trophy for the same team.
Obviously a bigger perk in Indian head coach's assignment awaits Gambhir and a trophy would not only burnish his credentials but also raise the demand to have him in that Indian dressing.
If one looks at man-to-man comparison, KKR tick more boxes in terms of overall match-winners with Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, the two Iyers -- Shreyas and Venkatesh -- the two Ranas -- Nitish and Harshit -- and spinner Varun Chakravarthy in their ranks.
However, SRH's uncapped domestic stars like Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy have done really well along with out-of-favour India internationals such as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan and Jaydev Unadkat.
SRH's 36-run win over Royals on a difficult track will certainly boost their confidence but they also must realise that the Chepauk wicket will be tailor made for Varun (20 wickets) and Narine (16 wickets), who have been in stellar form through the season.
SRH's spin department might be short on confidence but not in terms of heart as Abhishek and Shahbaz Ahmed showed during their cumulative haul of 5 for 37 in 8 overs, which changed the course of the second qualifier.
Any target between 180 to 200 could be a very competitive one if the pressure of playing the final is also factored in.
Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen did get runs on a tricky surface but the likes of Abhishek, Rahul Tripathi and Reddy would need to play the match of their lives for SRH to emerge triumphant.
On a track where taking the pace off deliveries will be the key, young KKR pacers Harshit and Vaibhav Arora will have to think out of the box against Head, who has so far amassed 567 runs.
One interesting aspect of the IPL final is that the match features no member from India's main T20 World Cup squad. The only Indian player associated with the final will be Rinku Singh, who is in the reserves.
That again tells a story that IPL is won mostly by teams where 'Orange Cap' or 'Purple Cap' doesn't get much precedence in the face of team culture developed by Gambhir and Cummins.

Shimron Hetmyer of Rajasthan Royals has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad here.
SRH won the match by 36 runs on Friday.
While the organisers did not specify why Hetmyer was fined, it could be because of his reaction following his dismissal. After Abhishek Sharma bowled him in the 14th over of the chase, Hetmyer tried to smash the stumps in frustration.
"Shimron Hetmyer of the Rajasthan Royals has been fined 10 per cent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the Qualifier 2 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on May 24," the IPL said in a statement.

Rajasthan Royals' talented young pretenders miserably failed in a 'Slow Track Test' as Sunrisers Hyderabad's unfancied spin twins Abhishek Sharma and Shahbaz Ahmed spun a web to set-up a 36-run win in the Qualifier 2 and an IPL summit date with Kolkata Knight Riders at Chepauk on Friday.
The title clash will be played at the same venue on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 176, Royals were restricted to 139 for 7 ensuring a third IPL final for SRH after 2016 and 2018.
On a slow track that offered significant turn and grip as the evening progressed and no dew to help batters, Abhishek (2/24 in 4 overs) and Shahbaz (3/23 in 4 overs) forced the Yashasvi Jaiswals, Sanju Samsons and Riyan Parags to press the unwanted 'Harakiri button' in 15 minutes of pure brain fade that ended their hopes of a third final.
Their combined figures of 5 for 47 in 8 overs completely overshadowed the celebrated duo of Ravichandran Ashwin (0/43 in 4 overs) and Yuzvendra Chahal (0/34 in 4 overs), who gave away 77 runs in their quota of overs.
That difference also became the difference between the two sides eventually.
From a comfortable 65 for 1 in 7.4 overs, it suddenly became 79 for 5 by the end of the 12th over.
Abhishek, who had bowled only three overs in 15 games prior this night, suddenly got the ball to dip and turn while Shahbaz's deliveries gripped and one such saw the back of Samson, who waited for an eternity to pull over the cow corner.
Jaiswal and for that matter Parag also couldn't simply get the distance as the ball stopped on them.
The humidity was around 80 percent and hence the absence of dew only made matters worse.
Dhruv Jurel (56 not out off 35 balls) tried his bit but save Jaiswal (42 off 21 balls) all others flattered to deceive.
It must be mentioned that the highly-rated Samson, again failed to score on days when it mattered. Samson's failures on big days have been his biggest undoing and Royals expected a much better effort from their skipper.
It was imperative after Sandeep Sharma, the master operator on tacky surfaces, put his skill-sets to optimum use while restricting Hyderabad to a decent yet manageable 175 for 9.
The Royals bowling could be segregated into three distinct parts despite Heinrich Klaasen's half-century (50, 34b) that had four maximums.
Trent Boult (3/45) started the slide in the Powerplays, Sandeep choked the 'Orange Army' batters in the middle overs while Avesh Khan 2.0 was as menacing at the death (3/27) as he has been throughout the tournament.
But it was the canny Sandeep (2/25 in 4 overs), who took pace off his deliveries as Sunrisers batters were literally 'Short Third-Manned' with four batters failing to clear the fielder stationed at the edge of the 30-yard circle.
Chahal manning the slot took three catches while Ashwin also got one at the same position.
The problem SRH batters, including the in-form Travis Head (34 off 28 balls), faced was the lack of pace in the surface that became a hindrance while using it for the traditional T20 ramp scoops.
Abhishek (12) at the start became indiscreet when he played one shot too many off Boult and was holed out.
The ploy to use Ashwin (0/43 in 4 overs) with the new ball because of his familiarity with Chepauk didn't work as Rahul Tripathi (37 off 15 balls) hit the senior off-spinner out of the attack.
Just when it seemed that he was taking control on a day when Head wasn't getting his timing right, his poor shot selection while trying to hit Boult over short third became his undoing.
Aiden Markram's re-entry in playing XI didn't pay dividends as he was out slashing at short third-man. However with Klaasen for company, SRH were clawing back at 99 for 3 when Head paid for his profligacy with Sandeep rolling his fingers over.
Klaasen understood that the ball wasn't coming onto the bat and only went for the jugular to the deliveries that were in his arc as he got one of his better half-centuries in difficult conditions before a slower delivery on the blockhole rattled the furniture.
With Klaasen's departure, the chances of getting past 200 also went through the window.&nbsp;

"As all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time. We do expect that we will get a decision as and when he decides.
"But we are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK the next year. That is the view and expectations of the fans and mine." Dhoni, who had undergone surgery to treat a knee injury issue last year, scored 161 runs in 73 balls at a strike rate of 220.55 this season. He was also good behind the stumps.
A mega IPL auction has been scheduled later in the year and if Dhoni continues, CSK will undoubtedly be retaining him.
However, the number of players allowed to be retained still needs clarity.
Viswanathan said that discussions are yet to take place on the same with the BCCI.
"It is too early because we have still not heard from BCCI on the kind of retentions that are going to be part of the next cycle of auction.
"So we are expecting that the BCCI would discuss with all franchise owners before they take a decision on retention."

During a chat with Ravichandran Ashwin on his YouTube channel, Gauti said, "In the later half of my career, I feel franchise cricket became way more tougher than international cricket. Especially the IPL. I don't know about other leagues. Because if you see in the first 3 or 4 years when you play an international game, you face 5 or 6 top-quality bowlers. But when you play in the IPL in the first couple of years, when the standard was not as good as it's now, you could always target 2-3 domestic bowlers and for a batter, it was far more easy to get runs in franchise cricket."
"But today when I look at international T20 sides, apart from 2 or 3 teams, I don't think there's enough competition when it comes to playing for India as not many teams can match the quality that India has.
