Preparations are in full swing for the grand Ram Temple inauguration in Ayodhya. While many Bollywood stars like Kangana Ranaut, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have received the invitation for the mega event, &lsquo;Dreamgirl&rsquo; Hema Malini has confirmed herself to the media that she will also be present in Ayodhya to witness the historic consecration. Not only will the actor turned politician mark her presence but also perform a dance drama based on 'Ramayana'. &nbsp;
In a video clip released by Hema Malini&rsquo;s office, the BJP MP informed her fans and devotees that she will attend the &lsquo;Pran Prathisha&rsquo; and perform along with her team. The dance drama performance of the veteran actor is scheduled on January 17, five days ahead of the grand consecration ceremony. It will be based on &lsquo;Ramayan&rsquo; and would set the tone for the upcoming events.
The veteran Bollywood actor is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. Last year, she performed a dance drama in her Lok Sabha constituency Mathura in the honour of Sant Mirabai&rsquo;s 525th birth celebration. Several celebrities including Jaya Bachchan attended veteran actor Hema Malini&rsquo;s 75th birthday party in Mumbai on October 16. Several videos and pictures from the bash have surfaced online.
Jaya, who is often seen in a not-so-friendly mood with paparazzi, happily posed for photographers with her friends. But when photographers kept telling her where to look, Jaya snapped at them and asked them not to give her so many directions for photos.
For the occasion, Jaya wore a traditional beige ensemble. She tucked her hair into a bun adorned with a gajra.
The actor, along with Padmini Kolhapure, arrived at the photo booth for pictures.
Jaya told the media, &lsquo;Yeh Padmini mujhe yaha le kar aayi hai (Padmini brought me here.)&rsquo; Someone from the photographers replied, &lsquo;Jaya Ji ko lana bohot mushkil hai (it's difficult to convince Jaya Bachchan for photos).&rsquo;
As photographers kept telling Jaya where to look at the cameras, she said, &lsquo;Avi aap log itna direction mat dijiye (now don't give me so much direction for photos).&rsquo; She wrapped up the photo session with a namaste before walking away with Padmini.
Padmini looked beautiful in a floral teal anarkali suit.
Reacting to the video shared on Instagram, someone wrote in the comments, &lsquo;Why all click her photos when she insult media every moment,&rsquo; asked another. Another commented, &lsquo;Can&rsquo;t believe she is smiling.&rsquo;

For the night, Hema donned a lavender heavily embroidered sheer saree, while Rekha arrived in an embroidered ivory sari and her signature jewellery and makeup.

In a new interview, Hema Malini opened up about turning 75 and revealed her husband, actor Dharmendra gave her the best gift he could which made her day extra special. The actor especially flew down to India from the US just in time to ring in Hema&rsquo;s birthday.
&lsquo;He is here for my birthday, and the biggest gift he gives me is spending time with us,&rsquo; she said.
Dharmendra and Hema have been married for over four decades now. They have two daughters together, Esha and Ahana.

Welcoming the Allahabad High Court order on Gyanvapi mosque, BJP MP from Mathura Hema Malini on Thursday said, "The decision should come as soon as possible otherwise talks keep happening. It will be good for the country if the final decision comes soon."
Earlier in the day. the HC dismissed a petition challenging a district court order directing the ASI to conduct a survey to determine if the mosque located next to the Kashi Vishwanath temple is built upon a temple.
Pertinently, following the nod for a survey by HC, the Muslim side moved SC challenging the order on Thursday.&nbsp;
The Varanasi district court had on July 21 directed the ASI to conduct a "detailed scientific survey" - &nbsp;including excavations, wherever necessary -- to determine if the Gyanvapi mosque is built upon a temple.

Sharing the series of pictures and videos, she wrote, 'I must share with all of you my unique, wonderful experience. Drove 2 hours to reach Dahisar by car, so tiring! In the eve decided I would try the metro and OMG! What a joy it was! True, we went through tough times during the constr, but worth it! Clean, fast &amp; ws in Juhu in 1/2 hr.'
She added, 'After my metro experience, decided to go by auto from DN Nagar to Juhu &amp; that too was fulfilled. Landed by auto at my house &amp; the dazed security could not believe their eyes! All in all, a wonderful, pleasurable experience for me! In the metro with the public.'
In the video, she can be seen wearing a pink shirt and white trousers and was seen taking selfies with co-passengers inside the Mumbai Metro. The post of the actor has garnered immense love and fans are appreciating her gesture.

At a poll meeting in Mathura, from where Hema Malini is the MP, Jayant said that Home Minister Amit Shah asked an RLD leader to join the BJP. He added that Shah promised to make him next Hema Malini. The comment obviously drew the ire of the BJP.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur has demanded an apology from Jayant.
Jayant's snarky comment on Hema Malini is not the first such sexist rant.
In the 90s, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was attributed for a comment about constructing roads in Bihar ”as smooth as the cheeks of Hema Malini”. Lalu however denied having made such a comment.
But this "cheeky" comment has become the most distasteful constant in political references.
In 2019, Congress Madhya Pradesh minister PC Sharma again promised to turn Bhopal roads as smooth as Hema's cheek.
In 2013,  the then UP minister Raja Ram Pandey promised to build roads as smooth as the cheeks of Hema Malini and Madhuri Dixit.
Then there was another MP minister Sajjan Singh Verma who said that BJP makes Hema Malini dance to get votes.
Recently, Maharashtra minister Gulabrao Patil compared the smoothness of roads in his Assembly constituency, Jalgaon district, to Hema Malini's cheeks. The minister later apologised for the remark.

Hema Malini reacted to Maharashtra water supply and sanitation minister Gulabrao Patil as he compared the smooth roads in his constituency to her cheeks. She said that such comments were not in good taste.
In a political party, Gulabrao Patil, Maharashtra water supply and sanitation minister compared the development that he intend to make in his constituency to the actor-turned-politician's cheeks. In an interview with ANI, Hema said,“Better I keep my cheeks properly, safely. Waise karna nahi chahye (Such statements should be avoided).”
She said that the comment was not in a good taste as it was made by a Member of Parliament.
