The Karnataka High Court will hear the case on the June 4 Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede on June 12. The tragic event during an RCB celebration led to eleven deaths, prompting a judicial investigation.

The Karnataka High Court set a petition hearing for the June 4 stadium stampede, which killed eleven, for June 12.

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday posted to June 12, further hearing on a petition initiated by it on the June 4 stampede at the Chinnaswamy stadium.
Eleven people were killed in the stampede during a celebratory event to mark Royal Challenger Bengaluru's (RCB) maiden IPL triumph last week.
On Tuesday, the court ordered Advocate General Shashi Kiran Shetty to file a reply in a sealed cover.
During the hearing, AG Shetty submitted that he has not yet filed his reply. He said a judicial commission has been constituted, giving a one-month timeline for a report. He also noted that police officers have been suspended.
Shetty requested for a sealed-envelope submission, stating that in the pending bail petitions being heard concurrently, any statements made in the case were being used by the accused.
The court permitted Shetty to file the reply in a sealed cover by June 12, emphasising safe custody by the Registrar General.
The suo moto petition was heard by a division bench of acting Chief Justice V. Kameshwar Rao and Justice C. M. Joshi.
A former member of the Legislative Council sought to be impleaded in the petition.
Meanwhile, a lawyer mentioned that he is also filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding the stampede.
The court also noted that the investigation has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), as mentioned by Shetty in a prior hearing.
On June 5, Karnataka HC had taken cognizance of the stadium stampede event and directed the state government to file a status report.

A local court here on Wednesday heard arguments in connection with framing of charges in the ongoing trial of the July 2024 stampede case before setting the next date of hearing to June 4, a lawyer said.
The case pertains to the stampede that broke out on July 2 last year during a religious gathering led by preacher Surajpal alias Narayan Sakar Hari alias Bhole Baba in Sikandrarao tehsil of Hathras district, in which 121 people lost their lives. Most of the victims were women and children.
The court of Additional District Judge (ADJ) Mahendra Srivastava heard the case. The matter was previously being heard in the District Judge's court but has now been transferred to the ADJ-I court.
During Wednesday's proceedings, senior advocate A P Singh appeared on behalf of the accused event organisers and reiterated the defence's stance.
Singh claimed that the stampede was the result of a conspiracy.
"There have been past attempts to malign the Uttar Pradesh government and this was one such orchestrated effort," he alleged.
Singh said he argued that the accused have no criminal history or background and have been volunteering for the spiritual event. Those who lost their lives were also "their own people" (followers of the preacher), he added.
Singh is also the legal counsel of Surajpal, who, however, is not mentioned as an accused in the police FIR.
"The case has now been transferred to a new judge. We have apprised the court of the entire scenario -- there are 700 witnesses, the charge-sheet runs into 10 volumes and an SIT has been constituted to probe the incident. Following this, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also ordered a judicial inquiry commission," he said.
Singh further stated that an FIR was registered and a reward of Rs 1 lakh was announced for the main accused Devprakash Madhukar.
"Eleven people have been arrested and none were apprehended by the police. We presented them ourselves. Justice must be done in this case," he said.

"If you experience pain, itching, discharge, or reduced hearing in your ears during or after the monsoon season, consult an ENT specialist promptly. Early detection and treatment can prevent complications." he said.
The doctor also mentioned proper precautions you must take if you are stepping out in the rain. He said that proper water proof clothing is important to avoid water from entering the ears. One must consider wearing earplugs or a waterproof hat with ear flaps to protect your ears from getting wet.
Dr Sachdeva cautioned people against putting anything inside their ears. According to him people have the bad habit of inserting things like fingers, pencisl etc. into their ears which can harm the ear skin and tissues. So, it's advisable to avoid using cotton swabs or any other objects to clean inside your ears. This can push wax deeper into the ear canal or cause damage to the delicate skin inside.

The result of the study was published in the journal BMJ Global Health where the team found out that around 24% of 12 to 34 year olds listen to loud music. &nbsp;
Their analysis of previous studies have also found out that 23% of adults and 27% of minors are regularly exposed to excessive noise. Hence, they have urged implementation of policy on safe listening habits worldwide to promote hearing loss prevention.&nbsp;

The emotions conveyed by Fayyaz Hashmi’s ‘Aaj Jaane Ki Zidd Na Karo’ are universal. They fall beyond the purview of language, and that’s exactly what this cover of the song is showing us.  

The Ghazal made famous by the legendary Farida Khanum, has been presented by singer Abhishruti Bezbaruah in Indian Sign Language for the hearing impaired. This is among the first times that the song has been presented in such a manner.  


Before this too Abhishruti has ventured down unchartered paths with songs on the lives of transgender persons, along with working on films such as Highway, Viceroy’s House and The Second Best Exotic Marigold hotel.  


In order to perform this special version of the Ghazal, she also underwent training for Indian Sign Language.
