The 72-year-old producer is currently undergoing treatment behind bars, but his legal healthcare representative, Craig Rothfeld, has opted to keep details of his health private.
&lsquo;Craig Rothfeld, Mr. Weinstein&rsquo;s authorized legal healthcare representative in New York State, expresses deep concern over the speculation surrounding Mr. Weinstein&rsquo;s medical condition,&rsquo; stated Weinstein&rsquo;s spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, in a statement to Variety.
&lsquo;It is troubling and unacceptable that such private and confidential health matters have become public fodder. Out of respect for Mr. Weinstein&rsquo;s privacy, we will not provide any further comments,&rsquo; he added.
The former movie mogul made his latest appearance in a Manhattan court in September, marking his first outing after heart surgery. Arriving in a wheelchair, assisted by courthouse security guards, he pleaded not guilty to an additional criminal sex act charge, which had been leveled against him just a week earlier in New York.
Earlier this year, Weinstein's health took a serious turn when he was transferred from a New York City jail to a hospital in July, battling a slew of health issues including COVID-19 and pneumonia in both lungs.

However, the New York Court of Appeals overturned his conviction in April, citing unfair trial conditions due to improperly admitted testimony from uncharged accusers. He now awaits retrial while facing additional charges, including a first-degree criminal sexual act and third-degree rape.
Weinstein, once a powerhouse producer behind hits like Django Unchained, Shakespeare in Love, and Good Will Hunting, now grapples with the consequences of his actions, both in health and in justice.

Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced Hollywood mogul serving a prison sentence for sexual assault, has been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19 and double pneumonia, his representative told The Hollywood Reporter. Weinstein has been moved from New York City's Rikers Island jail to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.
In addition to COVID-19 and double pneumonia, Weinstein is also being treated for diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, and fluid in his heart and lungs, according to a statement from Weinstein's publicist, citing Craig Rothfeld, Weinstein's prison consultant.
&lsquo;We continue to express our gratitude to the officers, doctors and nurses at DOCS, CHS, and NYC H+H who saw to it that Mr. Weinstein was immediately transferred to the Bellevue Hospital Prison Ward and will continue working hand in hand with them to ensure Mr. Weinstein receives proper medical treatment,&rsquo; his rep added in a statement.
Weinstein has previously been admitted to Bellevue Hospital after being brought to New York City for legal proceedings related to his rape case.

Weinstein, 72, was serving a 23-year prison sentence following his 2020 rape conviction in New York, but it was overturned earlier this year. A tentative new trial date has been set, with jury selection expected to start on November 12.
In the original New York case, Weinstein was found guilty of two charges: criminal sexual assault in the first degree, based on testimony from former Project Runway production assistant Miriam Haley, and rape in the third degree, based on testimony from former aspiring actress Jessica Mann.
Additionally, Weinstein was convicted in 2022 by a Los Angeles jury on three counts of sexual assault involving Jane Doe No. 1, who later identified herself as former Russian model Evgeniya Chernyshova. Weinstein has also filed an appeal against his 16-year prison sentence from that case.

Critics, including complainants, lawyers, and #MeToo activists, viewed the overturning of Weinstein's New York conviction as a setback for abuse survivors.
Ashley Judd, the first actor to accuse Weinstein, expressed her day being disrupted by the news of a new trial. She, a member of the Silence Breakers group, called the decision a betrayal to sexual assault survivors, noting that the system's betrayal and moral injury can be worse than the initial assault.
&lsquo;Oftentimes survivors say that the betrayal and the moral injury we suffer within the system is worse than the sexual body invasion we experienced in the first place,&rsquo; Ms Judd said.
She praised those who had stepped forward in the New York case against Weinstein.

In a four-three ruling, the New York Appeals court stated that Weinstein's 2020 trial had wrongly included testimony of uncharged prior sexual acts and allowed prejudicial cross-examination. The court ordered a new trial, noting these errors. Weinstein was convicted in 2020 of assaulting Mimi Haleyi in 2006 and raping Jessica Mann in 2013, resulting in a 23-year sentence.
Weinstein's defense team claimed that the sexual encounters between the movie executive and the accusers were consensual.
Weinstein received a 16-year sentence in California last year for raping an Italian model and actress in a Beverly Hills hotel in 2013. This separate conviction is unaffected by the New York appeal. Weinstein will stay in the Mohawk Correctional Facility in New York while the Manhattan district attorney considers a new trial.
Critics, including complainants, lawyers, and activists, condemned April 25th&rsquo;s ruling as &lsquo;tragic&rsquo; and a &lsquo;step backward&rsquo; for victims' rights in cases of sexual abuse by powerful individuals.
Gloria Allred, a lawyer who represented Mimi Haley, the key prosecution witness in the New York case, said that her client would consider testifying again &lsquo;even though the process of testifying was gruelling and retraumatising for Mimi&rsquo;.
The Silence Breakers earlier said its members would not be bowed by a decision they regarded as &lsquo;profoundly unjust&rsquo;.
At a news conference in New York, members including Ms Judd said that they would continue to seek justice for victims of sexual abuse and violence.

New York's highest court on Thursday overturned disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein's 2020 conviction on sex crime charges, a shock reversal in the landmark case that launched the #MeToo movement.
In their 4-3 decision, judges cited errors in the way the trial had been conducted, including admitting the testimony of women who were not part of the charges against him.
"Order reversed and a new trial ordered," the ruling said.
"The accused has a right to be held to account only for the crime charged and, thus, allegations of prior bad acts may not be admitted against them for the sole purpose of establishing their propensity for criminality," wrote Judge Jenny Rivera, in an opinion for the majority.
"The court compounded that error when it ruled that defendant, who had no criminal history, could be cross examined about those allegations as well as numerous allegations of misconduct that portrayed defendant in a highly prejudicial light."
Weinstein, 72, was convicted in February 2020 of rape and sexual assault by a court in New York, and later sentenced to 23 years in prison.
It was not immediately clear what would happen to Weinstein, who is being held at the Mohawk Correctional Facility in Rome, New York state.
He was subsequently convicted and sentenced by a Los Angeles court to an additional 16 years in prison for the rape of a woman in a Beverly Hills hotel room, to be served after the first sentence.
Bombshell allegations broke against the Academy Award winning producer in 2017, launching the #MeToo movement and paving the way for hundreds of women to fight back against sexual violence in the workplace.

"With today's decision, this Court continues to thwart the steady gains survivors of sexual violence have fought for in our criminal justice system," Judge Madeline Singas, who dissented against the ruling, said.
"Forgotten are the women who bear the psychological trauma of sexual violence and the scars of testifying again, and again."
Before the allegations against him emerged, the producer and his brother Bob were Hollywood's ultimate power players.
They co-founded Miramax Films, a distribution company named after their mother Miriam and father Max, in 1979. It was sold to Disney in 1993.
Their hits included 1998's "Shakespeare in Love," for which Weinstein shared a best picture Oscar. Over the years, Weinstein's films received more than 300 Oscar nominations and 81 statuettes.
