&lsquo;Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah&rsquo; actor Gurucharan Singh broke his silence regarding his disappearance. In a new interview with The Times of India, he clarified that it was not a 'publicity stunt' and that he had gone on a 'spiritual journey.'
Singh went missing on April 22 and returned home after 25 days. He came back to Mumbai earlier this month for the first time since his disappearance.
Gurucharan said, &lsquo;I have always been spiritual because of my parents and at this point in life when I was feeling low, I turned towards God. I went on a spiritual journey and had no plans of coming back. But God gave me a sign and that made me return home. Many people think I planned my disappearance for publicity, but that&rsquo;s not true. If I wanted publicity, I could have given interviews to talk about the pending dues for my work in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. I could have used social media to do that, but I didn&rsquo;t. Even after coming back home, I didn&rsquo;t give any interviews, but now I am speaking up because I want to clarify certain things that people are saying about me.&rsquo;
Gurucharan also expressed his desire for support from the industry by offering him work. &lsquo;I am back and eager to take on many projects. I aim to repay all my loans and debts gradually through my work, and I am prepared to work diligently. I've realized that I can continue my spiritual journey while fulfilling my other life responsibilities,&rsquo; he said.
The actor disappeared in April after leaving his home in Delhi to catch a flight to Mumbai. He was scheduled to board a flight from Delhi to Mumbai on the evening of April 22 but did not reach his destination. Upon his return to Delhi, he was questioned by the Delhi Police, and his statement was recorded before a local court. Gurucharan Singh portrayed the character of Roshan Singh Sodhi in &lsquo;Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah&rsquo;.

Actor Gurucharan Singh missing: cops reach Mumbai, suspect 'planned' disappearance

Gurucharan Singh, who essayed the role of Sodhi from the popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, had been missing since April 22. His last location was traced to Delhi.

With popular TV actor Gurucharan Singh yet to be traced, the Delhi Police has now reportedly widened its search to Mumbai, and has started questioning his castmates and friends.
According to a Hindustan Times newspaper report, the police have reached Mumbai. Meanwhile, News18, quoting Delhi Police sources, has reported that the actor may have planned his disappearance. The police believe that he may have moved out of Delhi.
Singh, who essayed the role of Sodhi from the popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, had been missing since April 22. His last location was traced to Delhi.
His father filed a missing complaint four days later which stated, &ldquo;My son Gurucharan Singh, Age: 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on 22nd April to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn&rsquo;t reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing.&rdquo;
Rohit Meena, DCP South West Delhi, had told ANI, &lsquo;Gurucharan's family registered a complaint that he has been missing since April 22. He was supposed to go to Mumbai, but he didn't. We have registered a case under Section 365 of the IPC. We have put together a team to probe the matter and our technical team is also working on the case. We are in the process of going over the CCTV footage, where he is seen walking by himself.&rsquo;
Sodhi's close friend, Ms. Soni, spoke to Pinkvilla and disclosed that the actor had been unwell for the past few days, undergoing several tests. She also mentioned that he hadn't been eating properly recently.
&lsquo;Before leaving for Delhi, his blood pressure was high and he had undergone a few tests as well. He wasn&rsquo;t even eating much before he left for Delhi. I really hope and pray that he is fine, and returns back safe and sound,&rsquo; Ms Soni said.
Gurucharan, who gained fame for his comedic roles in &lsquo;Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah&rsquo;, left the show a few years ago.
