The 2022 Grammys are officially on hold. 
The Recording Academy and CBS have announced on Wednesday that the music award show will be postponed from its originally scheduled airdate on January 31, 2022.
They said that ‘holding the show right now simply contains too many risks.
They revealed that a new date for 64th Grammys will be announced ‘soon’. 
The news comes as the the global outbreak of the Covid-19 omicron variant continues to scare the lives. 
This marks the second year in a row that the pandemic has forced the Grammys to postpone the award night.

Citing the ongoing surge in Covid-19 cases due to the Omicron variant, the Recording Academy announced that the 2022 Grammys are postponed for now.

'God’s Plan' Singer Drake doesn't want any part in competing for a Grammy.
The four-time Grammy winner and his management asked the Recording Academy to withdraw his two nominations from the final-round ballot.
And as a result Grammys on Monday, has already removed Drake’s nominations from the nominee list on its website.
Drake was nominated for best rap album 'Certified Lover Boy' and 'Way 2 Sexy' which earned a nomination for best rap performance.
Drake had earlier called out the Grammys in previous years. The rapper has shown his displeasure for not being nominated outside the rap category.
