Actor Saiyami Kher is receiving immense praise for her performance in &lsquo;Ghoomer&rsquo;. She plays the role of a para-athlete in the R Balki directorial.&nbsp;
The movie has received a thumbs-up not only from the audience but also several Indian cricketers including Sachin Tendulkar.
Saiyami recently had an interaction with &lsquo;God of Cricket&rsquo; Sachin and the former Indian cricketer lauded the actor&rsquo;s bowling skills.
Saiyami posted a video on social media in which Sachin asked her to showcase her bowling skills and the actor managed to impress him with the same.
Saiyami wrote, &lsquo;What&rsquo;s the one dream you had as a child that you never thought could never come true? Mine was that someday, I would get to meet @sachintendulkar my hero, my inspiration, my teacher. I have loved and learnt this game watching him play. I&rsquo;ve bunked college to watch him play. I&rsquo;ve had the loudest &ldquo;Sachinnn Sachhhin&rdquo; chant in the North Stand. So, I can&rsquo;t seem to explain what this means to me (sic).&rsquo;
The caption further read, &lsquo;When I began acting, my friends ragged me and said, &ldquo;Ja ja, acting kar. Someday Sachin will watch your film.&rdquo; And that became my goal. After Indian cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle, former cricketer Virender Sehwag has shared his review of Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher starrer &lsquo;Ghoomer&rsquo;. He shared how he never respected spinners nor listened to his coaches but he was forced to listen to Abhishek and respect Saiyami's performance.
Sharing his review of &lsquo;Ghoomer&rsquo;, Sehwag said in the video, &lsquo;Kal maine Ghoomer picture dekhi. Bahut ajhi lagi. Bahut dino ke baad cricket ki picture dekhne mein bahut anand aaya. Kyunki isme cricket to hai magar emotion bhi hain aur sportsperson ki struggle kya hoti hai iska idea bhi aajayega aapko, khaskar injury se wapis aana kitna alag level ka struggle hai ye pata chal jayega (I watched Ghoomer yesterday. I loved it and enjoyed watching a cricket film after so long. It not just has cricket but emotions too. You will know the struggle of a sportsperson especially how coming back after an injury is struggle of another level).&rsquo;
He further said, &lsquo;Maine waise spinner ko respect nahi deta hu magar Saiyami Kher ne jo ghoomer dali hai wo lajawab hai. Ye role bahut hi mushkil tha magar unhone emotional kar dia. Indian cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle, who recently watched R Balki&rsquo;s &lsquo;Ghoomer&rsquo;, reviewed the film on social media. He shared how he was apprehensive before watching the Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher starrer but all his apprehensions and uneasiness were put to rest as the film was wonderful.
In a video posted on Twitter, Harsha said, &lsquo;I went to see a movie recently and I went with a combination of excitement and unease. A little bit of unease, because I didn't know how I'd react to film where I knew a lot of people in it. I've known Balki for a long time. There's been a debate in the house or whether we like Cheeni Kum more or Paa more. I was always on the Paa side, my wife was on Cheeni Kum side. I've been invested in Sayami Kher's performance as she is an outstanding anchor and also a cricketer. I wanted to see how she combined the two. So I was a little confused about how I'd react to the film with people that I knew in it.&rsquo;
He added, &lsquo;I was also a little concerned about how the cricket would be shot. We've all seen sports movies where the emotion is built up, the drama is built up and then suddenly the sport starts and you say, yeah, they tried to teach the actor cricket but it's not working. Within the first ten minutes or so, that first fear was gone.&rsquo;
He said that Saiyyami was making all the right moves and he was soon fascinated with how Balki focused on the little things carefully.
&lsquo;It's not just Saiyyami - who is a proper cricketer. She's an actor, but she's also a proper cricketer. So there was never going to be any doubt about that, but also on how the rest of the characters play. When there's an India-England game, they're all cricketers playing and he (Balki) didn't compromise on that. That gives the movie a touch of authenticity,&rsquo; he said.
He added that Saiyyami being an actor as well as a cricketer helped her bring all the nuances of her character and make it all look authentic.
Talking about Abhishek's performance, Harsha said, &lsquo;Then there was Abhishek Bachchan. I think he lives the role of the coach. Sometimes you can have a coach who's trying to motivate a player, whether it's the hard way or the soft way, but sometimes the lines can appear a little straight out of a motivational lecture. I love the way Abhishek married the two into his character. I could recognize a couple of cricketers within the character that Abhishek plays, but I'll leave it for you to decide. But needless to say, he is outstanding especially in the first half.&rsquo;
Harsha then said that the film is about hope, more than anything else. He added that he liked the fact that the film does not &lsquo;talk down women's cricket&rsquo;, or other issues that plague our society. He wrapped up his video saying that he is not a reviewer but he loved the way the story of a Hungarian athlete was woven into the Indian setup and the language of cricket was chosen for the same.
&lsquo;Ghoomer&rsquo; is set to release in theatres on August 18.

The trailer of Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher starrer &lsquo;Ghoomer&rsquo; has been released.
The R Balki directorial is about a paraplegic sportsperson who triumphs as a cricketer under the guidance of her coach.
The trailer shows Saiyami's character getting selected in the national team and just as everything is working out for her, she loses her arm in a car accident. Bachchan&rsquo;s character trains her to use her left hand just as effectively and we eventually see her playing for Team India. 
&lsquo;Ghoomer&rsquo; also stars Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi.
Amitabh Bachchan also appears in the trailer.
The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on August 18. It will also premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2023.
'Ghoomer's idea was inspired by the life of Hungarian right-hand shooter Karoly Takacs. He won two Olympic gold medals using his left hand after his right hand was injured.
He told PTI at the 53rd International Film Festival of India, 'I suggested let&rsquo;s make it a cricket film rather than a shooting film as people will take a lot of time to understand (the sport).'
R Balki recently directed Dulquer Salmaan starrer 'Chup Revenge of the Artist'.
He has previously worked with Abhishek Bachchan in 'Paa'.&nbsp;
