Garba, a traditional dance form originated from the Indian state of Gujarat, has been included in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).&nbsp;
After the announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said "Garba inspires us to preserve and promote our heritage for future generations".
The head of the evaluation body of the committee described Garba as a "ritualistic and devotional dance performed during the Hindu festival of Navaratri, dedicated to honouring the feminine energy."
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendera Patel also shared a post on X, terming Garba's addition to the list as a "proud moment for Gujarat and India".
Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy also shared a post on the same, saying that the listing was a testimony to the "tireless efforts of this government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to showcase our rich culture, traditions and heritage to the world".&nbsp;

In the midst of the festival season, a video of people doing garba in an office has garnered social media's attention. A user shared the video saying it is from Axis Bank's Fort branch in Mumbai.&nbsp;
Several people reacted to the video and asked if the office allowed people to offer namaz too. People also reacted by saying that this is such a fun video to watch, and everyone is enjoying it.&nbsp;
Others reacted by saying that they hope that the office was secular enough to celebrate festivals of every religion. It is worth noting that this video has managed to get more than 82 thousand views, at the time of writing this.&nbsp;
However, the video caught the attention of Axis Bank's fort branch and they reacted to it by saying that 'this&nbsp; video does not pertain to Axis Bank&rsquo;s Fort branch. We request you to not to circulate this video while associating it with Axis Bank.'

In a shocking incident in Palghar's Virar town,  Maharashtra Manish Narapji Sonigr, 35, collapsed while dancing at a Garba event at Global City complex, Virar at the interveining night of Saturday and Sunday.  Seeing his son, collapse, his father immediately rushed him to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead. While hearing the news of the death of his son, Narapji Sonigra, father of the deceased collapsed and died on the spot.According to the National Newschannel NDTV, police officials confirmed the deadly incident and regestered a case of iccidental death.
The bodied of the deceased has been sent for postmortem, the officials further said.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has put up posters prohibiting the entry of "non-Hindus" in the Garba pandals during the ongoing Navratri festival in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam district.
The VHP said it has placed the posters stating the "entry of non-Hindus is prohibited" across 56 pandals.
The rightwing group alleged that non-Hindu men indulge in objectionable activities by entering the garba pandals where dance is performed hailing Goddess Durga.
The entry of non-Hindu youths had led to controversies at many places last year. "By putting up such posters, non-Hindu people are being told not to enter the garba and Durga pandals so that such incidents can be avoided,&rdquo; the VHP said.
Ratlam SDM Abhishek Gehlot said the administration has not received any complaint in this regard.

No Garba in Gujarat this festive season: new guidelines issued

The Gujarat govt has issued a set of guidelines to be followed during the festive season that says no&nbsp;Garbas&nbsp;will be allowed in public spaces this year

In the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak, the state government in Gujarat has issued a set of new guidelines to be followed during the&nbsp;Navratri and Diwali season.
All Garbas in public places have been prohibited, as per the guidelines which will come into effect from October 16.&nbsp;Setting up of idols and worshipping the deity&nbsp;will be permitted in public after seeking prior permission from local authorities, but distributing prasad and touching the deity&nbsp;will not be allowed.
Maximum of 200 people will be allowed to gather for an event, with full adherence to protocols issued by the government. All religious, cultural and entertainment events will be permitted only outside containment zones.
