Sunny Deol, who is gearing up for the release of his film &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo;, expressed his views on cross-border love stories in a recent interview.
During his interview with Aaj Tak, the actor was questioned about Seema Haider, a Pakistan resident who came to India to marry her &lsquo;lover&rsquo; from Greater Noida, and Anju, who crossed the international border to be with her Pakistani &lsquo;friend&rsquo;.
When asked if his films were motivating people to engage in relationships across borders, Sunny Deol responded, &lsquo;I don&rsquo;t believe so&hellip; Nowadays, technology facilitates people meeting through apps. Once they develop feelings for each other, they naturally want to meet and be together. Instead of criticising or concerning ourselves with such matters, we should respect their choices, as it&rsquo;s their personal life. Whether it&rsquo;s right or wrong is for them to decide.&rsquo;
He added, &lsquo;Since my childhood, I&rsquo;ve rarely read newspapers or watched the news. I used to focus solely on the sports pages. News has become more like a commodity now.&rsquo;
&lsquo;Gadar: Ek Prem Katha&rsquo;, one of the most significant movies in Sunny Deol&rsquo;s career, holds a special place in the hearts of Indian audiences, even 22 years after its release.
Set against the backdrop of the partition era, the film follows the journey of a Sikh man and a Muslim woman who find solace in each other amid the tense situation.
Directed by Anil Sharma, who also helmed the first instalment, &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo; stars Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Manish Wadhwa and Gaurav Chopra in the lead roles. The film will release in theatres on August 11, 2023.

In a recent interview with Dainik Bhaskar, the filmmaker said, &ldquo;I have no clue why she said all of this. All I would like to say is that this is all false, none of it is true. At the same time, I would like to thank Ameesha Patel. She made my production house famous. What can be bigger than this? I thank her for making our new production house famous.&rdquo;&nbsp;

In a series of tweets, Ameesha wrote, &ldquo;Another concern of fans has been about certain incidents regarding Anil Sharma Productions to have taken place in regards to the final schedule of Gadar 2 that took place end May in Chandigarh!! There were certain queries that many technicians like makeup artists, costume designers, and others, etc. did not receive their rightful remuneration and dues from Anil Sharma Productions!! Yes, they did not!! But @ZeeStudios_ stepped in and made sure all dues were settled as they are a very professional company!" &nbsp;
She added, "Yes from accommodation, to transport to Chandigarh airport on the final day to food bills were left unpaid and cars were not provided to certain cast and crew members leaving them stranded! But yet again @zeestudios stepped in and corrected these issues caused by Anil Sharma Productions!!!"&nbsp;
&lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo; marks reunion of Anil Sharma with his lead stars Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol. The film also stars Anil&rsquo;s son Utkarsh Sharma - who featured as a child in the 2001 film.&nbsp;

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer &lsquo;Gadar Ek Prem Katha&rsquo; is back in theatres with a 4K version.
The movie, which was released in 2001, is sure to bring back fond memories to the viewers. Interestingly, on the day of its re-release, Sunny Deol arrived at INOX theatre in Delhi, triggering fan frenzy as he recreated his iconic dialogue, 'Hindustan Zindabad Tha, Hai Aur Rahega'.
Sunny interacted with the audience as well in his Tara Singh avatar. Hed spoke in Punjabi and asked his fans to enjoy the film in theatres ahead of the release of its sequel&ndash; &lsquo;Gadar 2&rsquo;.
The second installment is going to hit the screens on August 11 during the Independence Day weekend.
Sunny also informed the fans about a special surprise at the end of the film. The actor revealed that the film will give a glimpse into the new world of Tara Singh.
&lsquo;Gadar &ndash; Ek Prem Katha&rsquo; was set in the backdrop of the India-Pakistan partition in 1947 and the aftermath violence that followed. It focused on an interfaith love story. The film starred late veteran actor Amrish Puri as the antagonist Ashraf Ali.
The movie&rsquo;s tracks &lsquo;Udja Kaale Kaaga&rsquo; and &lsquo;Main Nikla Gaddi Leke&rsquo; are still fan-favourite.
