The airline stated that the cascading impact of flight diversions caused by heavy rains in Delhi also contributed to the decision to cancel the flight. Moreover, the delayed arrival of diverted flights resulted in the operating crew reaching their regulatory flight duty time limits.
So, replacement crew could not be immediately arranged due to the weather-related delays and disruptions, the airline stated. It said the affected passengers were also provided with hotel accommodation to minimise the inconvenience. Full refunds on cancellations or complimentary rescheduling were also offered to them if they opted, it said.

Among the passengers on flight 6E-6313 were former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey.
Choubey told PTI over the phone that after landing in Raipur around 2.20 pm, the door of the flight remained locked for more than 30 minutes.
"When we asked about the reason for the delay in opening the door, the crew said there was some technical problem, and they were trying to open it. "After 30 minutes, we asked them to seek assistance from the people outside. Then the people on the ground opened the door," she said.
While making it clear that the passengers weren't "scared," Choubey admitted that "after the Ahmedabad (air crash) incident, minor glitches also remind you of that tragedy." Senior Congress leader and the former chief minister Baghel also told reporters at the airport that the passengers remained stranded inside the aircraft for 40 minutes as the door remained closed.
Later IndiGo spokesperson acknowledged the incident and expressed regret saying the "flight 6E 6313, operating from Delhi to Raipur, experienced a delay in opening the aircraft door upon arrival on June 18, 2025, due to a minor technical issue.
"Following standard safety procedures, the door was opened after necessary checks were completed. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate our customers' patience and understanding."&nbsp;

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft (AI171) with 230 passengers and 12 crew members crashed into the complex of a medical college moments after taking off from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon.
One person survived the crash, while 241 on board were killed, of whom 10 were from Maharashtra, an official said.
He said the aircraft's pilot, Captain Sumeet Pushkaraj Sabharwal (56), was a resident of Jal Vayu Vihar in the Powai area of Mumbai and lived with his elderly parents.
The co-pilot of the flight, Clive Kunder, was a resident of the western suburbs of Mumbai, as per his social media account.
Cabin crew member Deepak Pathak lived in Badlapur in neighbouring Thane district.
Pathak's sister had earlier said he spoke to his mother before leaving for London. He had been working with Air India for 11 years, she said.
Another crew member, Maithili Patil (23), was a resident of Nhava village in Navi Mumbai. Patil joined Air India two years ago, and her father, Moreshwar Patil, is a labour contractor with ONGC.
Patil had spoken to her father before her flight to London and promised to call him once she reached the city, a former sarpanch of Nhava said.
Aparna Mahadik (43), another crew member, was a resident of Goregaon in the western suburbs, and her husband also works with Air India as a crew member.
She was a relative of NCP leader Sunil Tatkare.
Roshni Rajendra Songhare and Saineeta Chakravarti, both crew members, hailed from Dombivli and Juhu Koliwada, respectively.
Songhare was also a travel influencer with more than 54,000 followers on Instagram.
The victims also included Mahadev Pawar (68) and his wife Asha (60), who hailed from Hatid village in Sangola of Solapur district.
The Pawars had left Sangola and settled in Gujarat 15 years ago, and they were heading to London to visit their son.
One of the passengers, Yasha Kamdar Modha (32), was the daughter of Nagpur businessman Manish Kamdar. She was travelling to London with her son Rudra and mother-in-law Rakshaben, and all three perished in the crash.

The IndiGo flight was coming from Patna to Ranchi, and the pilot had to make an emergency landing here," Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, Director R R Maurya told PTI.
He said all the passengers are safe, but the "aircraft suffered a dent after being hit by a vulture. Engineers are assessing the damage," he said.
The incident occurred at 1.14 pm.
Another official said that the aircraft, which was coming to Ranchi, was scheduled to go to Kolkata.
IndiGo officials, however, did not make any comment.

Aviation watchdog DGCA on Friday said the crew of the IndiGo flight from the national capital to Srinagar on Wednesday had sought permission to enter Pakistan airspace to avoid turbulence but the request was rejected.
In a detailed statement about the incident, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said there was no injury to any passengers who were on the flight and that the aircraft's "nose radome" was damaged. <img src="https://cdn.editorji.com/6830241b5c143_1747985435.jpg" width="353" height="300">
The incident of the aircraft encountering turbulence is being probed by the DGCA.
On Wednesday, IndiGo's A321 neo aircraft operating flight 6E 2142 encountered hailstorm and severe turbulence near Pathankot.
"As per crew statement, they requested Northern control (IAF) for deviation towards left (International Border) due to weather on the route, however, it was not approved.
"Later, the crew contacted Lahore to enter into their airspace to avoid the weather but the same was refused too," DGCA said.
According to the regulator, the crew initially attempted to return back but as they were close to the thunderstorm cloud, they decided to penetrate the weather.
"Subsequently, they encountered hailstorm and severe turbulence. Crew chose to continue at the same heading to exit the weather by the shortest route towards Srinagar," the statement said.
On Thursday, PTI reported that the Lahore ATC had rejected the flight pilot's request to use the Pakistan airspace to avoid turbulence.
While in a thunderstorm cloud, the regulator said warnings of Angle of Attack fault, Alternate Law protection lost, backup Speed scale unreliable were triggered.
"Due to updraft and downdraft encountered by the aircraft the Autopilot tripped and aircraft speed had wide variations. As a result, Maximum Operating Speed/Maximum operating Mach (VMO/MMO) warnings and repeated stall warnings were triggered," the statement said.
During this period, DGCA said the aircraft rate of descent reached 8,500 fpm (feet per minute) and crew flew the aircraft manually till they exited the hailstorm.
"After carrying out all checklist actions (ECAM actions), the crew declared 'PAN PAN' to Srinagar ATC and requested for RADAR vectors and made a safe landing with Auto Thrust operating normally," the statement said.
Generally, 'PAN PAN' refers to an emergency situation.
The regulator said the matter is under investigation and that there was no injury to any of the passengers on-board the flight.
"Post flight walk around revealed damage to the Nose radome," the statement said.

The airline, which has been expanding its fleet as well as overseas connections, will commence Mumbai-Manchester (UK) flight from July 1 and the Mumbai-Amsterdam (the Netherlands) service from July 2, according to releases issued on Wednesday.
Both services will be operated thrice a week and complimentary hot meals will be offered to the passengers on these routes.
IndiGo said it will be the only airline offering direct connectivity between India and the Northern UK with the flight to Manchester.
The airline's CEO Pieter Elbers said its long-haul foray marks a pivotal moment in its global expansion journey. "We are very proud as well as excited to open the sale of our first long-haul service connecting Mumbai with Manchester, a very special route in many ways," he added.
Generally, long haul flights have a duration of at least nine hours.
Recently, IndiGo signed agreements with Norse Atlantic Airways to damp lease six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and one of them is operating Delhi-Bangkok flights.
"These aircraft will support IndiGo's debut into the European market, starting with Manchester and Amsterdam, while the airline awaits the delivery of its A321XLR from this year and A350-900 aircraft from 2027 onwards," IndiGo said.
With a fleet of over 400 planes, IndiGo currently operates more than 2,200 daily flights connecting over 90 domestic and 40 international destinations.

Sources said that at least 18 airports in the northern and western parts of the country have been temporarily shut. These airports include Srinagar, Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla, Dharamshala and Jamnagar, they added.
According to the source, more than 200 flights to and from various airports have been cancelled by airlines, with IndiGo alone cancelling around 160 flights.
"Air India flights to and from the following stations&mdash;Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot&mdash;are being cancelled till 0529 hrs IST on 10 May following a notification from aviation authorities on the closure of these airports," the airline said.
In a post on X, the airline also said passengers holding valid tickets for travel during this period will be offered a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges or a full refund for cancellations.
IndiGo said that in the wake of the prevailing situation, flights to/from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, and Jodhpur stand cancelled for the day.
"We are anticipating changes in flight schedules across our network and sincerely advise all customers to stay updated on their flight status before heading to the airport," the airline said in a post on X.
In an update on X, SpiceJet said airports in parts of northern India, including Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar, are closed until further notice. Departures, arrivals, and consequential flights may be impacted. The affected passengers can opt for a full refund or an alternate flight as per availability, it added.
At least 35 flights to and from the Delhi airport, the country's largest and busiest airport, have been cancelled since 12 am, one of the sources said.
The source said that 23 domestic departures and eight arrivals were cancelled. Besides, four international departures were cancelled. Foreign carriers, including American Airlines, cancelled some of their services from the Delhi airport.
Akasa Air, in a post on X, said that due to the prevailing situation in the region, all its flights to and from Srinagar have been cancelled.
Regional carrier Star Air said its flights to/from Nanded, Hindon, Adampur, Kishangarh and Bhuj stand cancelled for the day.
Air India Express, in a post on X, said that in keeping with prevailing restrictions, multiple flights on our network are impacted, including cancellation of flights to and from Amritsar, Jammu, Srinagar, and Hindon, till mid-day. There was no further update immediatley.
"Kindly note, due to changing airspace conditions, some flights have been impacted at Delhi Airport," DIAL said in a post on X.
Delhi International Airport Ltd. (DIAL) operates the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).
Meanwhile, Qatar Airways, in a post on X, said it has temporarily suspended flights to Pakistan due to Pakistani airspace closure.

In a statement on Friday, a Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said the passengers were provided with overnight hotel accommodation on Thursday evening.
"With all necessary technical approvals now secured, the plane departed Diyarbakır Airport at 13:00 local time on Friday 4th April, operating as flight VS1358. Customers are now en route to Mumbai, with an expected arrival at approximately 20:49 local time," the spokesperson said.
A passenger, who was among those stranded at the airport, told PTI on Thursday that all passengers were sitting on the floor, and there were no blankets available.
Also, there was no vegetarian food available, the passenger said on condition of anonymity.
Over 250 passengers are stuck at the airport. An A350-1000 aircraft was operating the flight that has over 300 seats, according to sources.
"We're sorry that Virgin Atlantic flight VS358 from London Heathrow to Mumbai on 2nd April was disrupted following an urgent medical diversion to Diyarbakır Airport in Turkey.
"Due to the nature of the landing, the aircraft required extensive technical inspection before the aircraft was cleared to operate. The safety and security of our customers and crew remains our highest priority, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and prolonged delay," the spokesperson said in the statement on Friday.

The cheapest one way base fare is Rs 150 for a flight to and from Lilabari to Tezpur (Assam). The flights are operated by Alliance Air. While booking a ticket, there will be addition of convenience charge to the base fare.

Broadly, the duration of the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) flights on these routes are around 50 minutes. Majority of the routes where the base airfares range between Rs 150 and Rs 199 per person are in the North East. There are also routes in the South like Bangalore-Salem, Cochin-Salem where the base ticket prices are in this range, as per the analysis.
The base ticket price is Rs 400 for flights to and from Guwahati and Shillong.
For Imphal-Aizawl, Dimapur-Shillong and Shillong-Lilabari flights, the airfare is Rs 500. In the case of Bangalore-Salem flight, the base ticket price is Rs 525.
The analysis showed that the base airfare for Guwahati-Pasighat flight is Rs 999 and it is Rs 954 for Lilabari-Guwahati route. These are among the routes where there is a low demand and there are other transport options to reach these places in over five hours, according to an industry executive.
As many as 559 routes have been operationalised under the RCS also known as UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) till March 31, 2024, as per the latest update from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
For RCS flights, various incentives are extended by the central government, state governments and airport operators. Among others, there are no landing or parking charges for these flights.
