According to reports, he was rushed to Mumbai's GT Hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
32-year-old Thapan, who was arrested from Punjab on April 26, was accused of providing weapons to the shooters. &nbsp;
The two arrested accused, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), allegedly fired outside 58-year-old Khan's house at the Galaxy Apartment in the Bandra area of Mumbai on April 14 and then fled the spot on a motorbike.
Based on the technical surveillance, they were apprehended on April 16 from the premises of a temple at Mata No Madh near Bhuj town in Gujarat by joint teams of the Mumbai and Kutch police.
They were subsequently handed over to the Mumbai police for further investigation.
According to sources, the duo told the police during interrogation that they threw the weapon into the Tapi river from a railway bridge when they were fleeing to Bhuj in a train after reaching Surat by road from Mumbai following the firing incident.
Prima facie, the duo's main objective behind firing outside Khan's residence was to create "terror", police had said.
The Mumbai police have declared jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi as "wanted accused" in connection with the incident.
Gupta and Pal were allegedly receiving instructions from the two Bishnoi brothers, they have said.
While Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in the Sabarmati central prison in Gujarat in another case, his brother is believed to be in Canada or the US, an official earlier said.&nbsp;

According to India Today, miscreants fired several shots in the Moirang Assembly constituency. The Hindu reported that three people have been injured.

A total of 15.44 lakh voters, including 8.02 lakh women and 246 persons of the third gender, are eligible to cast their votes in the first phase of elections in the state.
A total of 18,091 people displaced due to ethnic strife in the state can cast their votes at 85 special polling stations.
Manipur has witnessed violent ethnic clashes between hills-based Kukis and valley-based Meiteis that left over 200 dead and thousands homeless since May 3 last year.
A total of six candidates, including state Education Minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh of the BJP and Angomcha Bimol Akoijam of the Congress, are contesting the Inner Manipur seat.
Republican Party of India (RPI) has nominated Thounaojam Maheshwar, while there are three other Independent candidates.
Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat has 9.91 lakh voters, while Outer Manipur has 10.22 lakh voters.
In Inner Manipur, the highest concentration of 3.81 lakh voters is in Imphal West, District Election Officer Th Kirankumar said.
Voting will be held in 1,319 polling stations in Inner Manipur, in addition to 29 special polling stations set up for people displaced due to the ethnic strife, he said.

A total of 22 special polling stations have been established for internally displaced people in Churachandpur district and 24 in Kangpokpi, officials said.
Campaigning ended at 4 pm on Wednesday for the segments that are going to polls in the first phase. Canvassing has been low-key in the state due to the ethnic strife.

Of the three women who died of their wounds, one was Nicoletta Golisano, 50, mother of a 10-year-old boy, who was attending the meeting as treasurer.
Meloni revealed on Facebook they were friends and paid tribute to "a protective mother, a sincere and discreet friend, who was also a strong and fragile woman".
The killer had been arrested, she said, adding she hoped that "justice will quickly follow its course".

A large group of people were listening to a DJ near Atlanta University Centre's Robert W. Woodruff Library around 12:30 am on Sunday when officers on patrol in the area heard gunshots, Atlanta police said.
A preliminary investigation found three students and another person were injured when shots were fired from a vehicle, Clark Atlanta University said.
Atlanta police said multiple people were shot. One of the victims was grazed and refused medical attention. Three others were taken to a hospital, though they were conscious and alert.

A 26-year-old person died and three others were injured after two men on a motorcycle allegedly fired at them in suburban Kandivali, police said on Saturday.
The incident, which the police say was a fallout of personal enmity, occurred around 11.30 pm on Friday at Laljipada on Link Road.
"The two accused came on a motorcycle and fired four rounds, in which one person was killed and three others injured. The victims were standing in a group when the miscreants fired at them and fled from the spot," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-11) Vishal Thakur said.
The deceased was identified as Ankit Yadav, police said.
The prime accused in the case, Sonu Paswan, knew the victim well. During the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations last month, a quarrel had broken out between the two and it is suspected that Paswan committed the crime out of a grudge he harboured against Yadav, he said.
A case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 302 (murder) and others, as well as the Arms Act, was registered against the accused, who have not been arrested so far, police said, adding that the injured were admitted to Shatabdi Hospital.

A Jamia Millia Islamia student was shot at and injured by another student inside the Holy Family Hospital in southeast Delhi's Jamia Nagar area Thursday evening, police said.
Around 8.50 pm, information was received regarding a quarrel at Jamia Millia Islamia university library, they said.
During inquiry, it was found that the fight had ensued between two groups of students, a senior police officer said.
In the incident, one student, Noman Chaudhary (26), a resident of Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh, sustained blunt injury on his head and had gone to the Holy Family Hospital for treatment, the officer said.
Another student, Nauman Ali, an associate of Nauman Chaudhary, also visited the hospital to see his friend, they said.
Meanwhile, one student of the second group, Zalal, a resident of Mewat in Haryana, accompanied by his friends came to the hospital and fired at Nauman Ali outside the emergency ward, the officer said.
Nauman Ali had a superficial injury on the scalp. The injured had been shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. The crime team is inspecting the scene of crime. Legal action has been initiated accordingly at Jamia Nagar and New Friends Colony police stations, the officer added.

A Bihar minister's son and brother were roughed up in West Champaran district on Sunday, after they allegedly opened fire on a group of villagers following a dispute.
Bablu Kumar, whose father Narayan Prasad is a BJP leader and the state minister for tourism, was attacked at Haradiya Koeri Tola village in Mofussil police station area.
News channels beamed footage in which the minister's son can be seen being thrashed by a group of villagers, who also snatched away a gun he was carrying.
According to Superintendent of Police Upendra Verma, Kumar was accompanied by uncle Harendra Prasad, manager Vijay Sah and other associates, all of whom sustained injuries in the clash.
They claimed they went to the spot upon learning about an "encroachment" on an orchard, and were assaulted there and robbed of the licensed gun, and that their vehicles were vandalised.
However, the villagers alleged that the minister's family members had taken exception to some children playing cricket there, and the situation went out of hand when Kumar fired a shot in the air.
The minister's son, who along with other injured persons is admitted to a hospital, has asserted that no shot was fired.
Heavy police deployment has been made in the area to maintain order and further investigation is underway, said the SP.
