Over 55,000 farmers enter Delhi for protest; routes you should avoid 

The rally is being organised by the Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), an affiliate of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), from 11 am to 6 pm to seek various relief measures to improve the condition of farmers.

Traffic movement is likely to be affected in parts of central Delhi on Monday due to the 'Kisan Garjana' rally at the Ramleela Ground, police said.
The rally is being organised by the Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), an affiliate of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), from 11 am to 6 pm to seek various relief measures to improve the condition of farmers.
According to an advisory by the Delhi Police, around 50,000 to 55,000 people are likely to arrive at the ground in 700 to 800 buses, and 3,500 to 4,000 private vehicles.
The diversion points are Maharaja Ranjeet Singh Marg, Mirdard Chowk, Minto Road, Ajmeri Gate, Chaman Lal Marg, Delhi Gate, JLN Marg, roundabout Kamala Market to Hamdard Chowk, Bhavbhuti Marg and Paharganj Chowk, it said.

According to the advisory, traffic restrictions, regulations or diversion may be imposed on Ranjeet Singh flyover from Barakhamba Road to Guru Nanak Chowk, from Minto Road to roundabout Kamla Market, Vivekanand Marg, JLN Marg (Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk).
As commuters going to New Delhi, Old Delhi, and Nizamuddin Railway Stations and Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) could encounter delays, they should plan their travel accordingly, the advisory said.&nbsp;

 VO: A man claiming to be an eyewitness of the accident which killed Deep Sidhu spoke to editorji and described the entire incident. Mohammad Yusuf said that his car was right behind Deep Sidhu's when the accident occurred. Actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu was in a Mahindra Scorpio car with his friend Reena Rai when the vehicle hit a moving truck from behind, the witness claimed. The accident occurred at the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal, or KMP, expressway near Delhi on February 15. While the witness claimed that Deep Sidhu was breathing when he was pulled out of the vehicle, hospital officials reportedly declared him dead on arrival. Sidhu was an accused in the violence that occurred on Republic Day 2021 amid a tractor rally by protesting farmers in Delhi.

In the meantime, I pulled the woman (Reena Rai) out. She was conscious and talking. She gave me the phone number of Deep Sidhu's brother. When I called him, he said he's sending someone from Delhi. Subsequently, Phool uploaded another video, this time claiming that the protestors were not aware that the Prime Minister would be taking that route to reach his destination. Phool claimed that BKU(K) members occupied the streets after police denied them permission to protest at the district headquarters. He said that when police told them that PM Modi would be travelling via that route, the protestors felt the cops were lying to break up the demonstration.

With the controversy over an alleged lapse in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's security snowballing, a farm union leader made a big statement a day after the incident.
Bhartiya Kisan Union (Krantikari) leader Surjit Singh Phool congratulated fellow workers for blocking the PM's path and forcing him to cut his Punjab trip short. PM Modi's convoy was stuck on a flyover for around 15-20 minutes between Punjab's Bathinda and Ferozepur on January 5 as protestors occupied the street. The Union Home Ministry called it a major security lapse, while the Bharatiya Janata Party accused the Indian National Congress - which rules Punjab - of trying to harm the Prime Minister.

After hailing BKU(K) workers, Phool uploaded another video in which he seemed to have softened his stance. He claimed that the protestors were unaware that PM Modi would be taking that route. They were forced to occupy the street after police denied them permission to protest at the district headquarters, he said. He went on to say that when the police told the demonstrators that the PM was going to be travelling through their protest site, they felt that it was a lie meant to make them vacate the spot.
Meanwhile, the issue has reached the Supreme Court with a public interest litigation (PIL) being filed against the Punjab government's 'serious and deliberate lapse'.
