An all-party delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad highlighted concerns over the use of cross-border terrorism as a tool to destabilise progress in Kashmir and to incite communal tensions as it held a meeting with the Vice-President of the European Parliament in-charge of Asia here on Thursday.
The delegation, which arrived in Belgium from the United Kingdom on Tuesday, is one of the seven multi-party delegations India has tasked to visit 33 global capitals to reach out to the international community to emphasise Pakistan&rsquo;s links to terrorism.
"All-Party Parliamentary delegation had a productive and constructive meeting with Ms. Christel Schaldemose, Vice-President of the European Parliament in-charge of Asia," the Embassy of India in Belgium &amp; Luxembourg said in a post on X.
"A good opportunity to brief at senior parliamentary level the use of cross border terrorism as an instrument of state policy to disrupt progress in Kashmir and communalize the situation. Condemnation of heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam and appreciation for India&rsquo;s firm policy of zero-tolerance on terrorism," it said.
The delegation also interacted with media in Brussels and highlighted India&rsquo;s decisive response to terrorism, the goals of Operation Sindoor, and the roadmap for a stronger India-EU partnership, including in combatting terrorism, the embassy said in another post.
On Wednesday, the delegation met members of the European Parliament, think tanks and Indian diaspora and reaffirmed India's "unwavering commitment" to combating cross-border terrorism. It also asserted that New Delhi stands united in its "resolve and action".
Besides Prasad, the delegation comprises Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP), Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shia Sena), Gulam All Khatana (BJP), Amar Singh (Congress), Samik Bhattacharya (BJP), M Thambidurai (AIADMIC), M J Akbar (BJP), and former diplomat Pankaj Saran.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after the Pahalgam terror attack, with India carrying out precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the early hours of May 7.
Pakistan attempted to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9, and 10. The Indian side responded strongly to the Pakistani actions.
The on-ground hostilities ended with an understanding of stopping the military actions following talks between the directors general of military operations of both sides on May 10.

US president-elect Donald Trump on Friday threatened the European Union with tariffs if the bloc does not reduce its "tremendous" trade gap with Washington through oil and gas purchases.
"I told the European Union that they must make up their tremendous deficit with the United States by the large scale purchase of our oil and gas," Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform in the early hours of Friday.
"Otherwise, it is TARIFFS all the way!!!"
According to US figures, goods imports from the EU were $553.3 billion in 2022, while its exports to the bloc were $350.8 billion.
This puts the US goods trade deficit with the EU at $202.5 billion that year.
Trump, who takes office in January, has made sweeping threats of slapping tariffs on US trading partners -- including Canada, Mexico and China -- which could send reverberations across the global economy.
Accusing Canada and Mexico of allowing the United States to be flooded with illicit drugs and undocumented migrants, he had announced a 25 percent import tariffs, while also vowing at least 10 percent against China, Washington's Asia-Pacific rival.
Canada, Mexico and China make up three of the biggest US trading partners.
Earlier this month, the European Union concluded a massive trade deal with four South American countries -- Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay -- which aims to create a 700-million-customer free-trade area.
EU Commission Chief Ursula von der Leyen had said the agreement would build trade bridges as "strong winds are blowing in the opposite direction, towards isolation and fragmentation" -- comments largely seen as a nod to Trump's threats to hike tariffs.
Some analysts have said Trump's tariff threat could be bluster, or an opening shot for leverage in future trade negotiations when he comes into office.
But Trump has continually insisted that "properly used" tariffs would be positive for the US economy.
"Our country right now loses to everybody," he told reporters at his Florida residence earlier this week. "Tariffs will make our country rich."

Eva Kaili, a 44-year-old Greek former TV news anchor, was suspended by her party in Greece and the EU assembly's Socialists and Democrats group Friday after Belgian police staged 16 raids across Brussels as part of a probe into corruption and money laundering at the parliament.
Four people were detained for questioning, and investigators recovered around 600,000 euros (USD 633,500) in cash and seized computer equipment and mobile telephones. Prosecutors did not identify the four but at least one was an EU lawmaker and one was a former member.

Authorities have not identified the Gulf country suspected of offering cash or gifts to officials at the parliament in exchange for political favours, but several members have linked the investigation to Qatar.
Parliament President Roberta Metsola &ldquo;has decided to suspend with immediate effect all powers, duties and tasks that were delegated to Eva Kaili in her capacity as vice president of the European Parliament,&rdquo; Metsola's spokesman said late Saturday.
The decision was taken &ldquo;in the light of the ongoing judicial investigations by Belgian authorities,&rdquo; he said, without providing further details.
The EU assembly is set to hold its last plenary session of the year in Strasbourg, France, beginning Monday.
The co-president of the Greens group, Philippe Lamberts, called for a parliamentary inquiry and for the issue to be put to debate this week, echoing calls from some other political groups.

It is "only a matter of time when stronger tools will have to be used anyway", Zelenskyy added. "It is a pity that this time will be lost.
"The logic is obvious: if the price limit for Russian oil is $60 instead of, for example, $30, which Poland and the Baltic countries talked about, then the Russian budget will receive about a hundred billion dollars a year...
"This money will also be used to further destabilize precisely those countries that are now trying to avoid big decisions."
During the negotiations on where to set the price cap, Poland in particular tried to hold out for a lower level of $30, before finally agreeing on Friday to the higher ceiling. G7, EU agree oil price cap to reduce Russia war funding

The price cap is designed to make it harder to bypass the sanctions by selling beyond the EU.

The G7 and EU on Friday agreed a $60-per-barrel price cap on Russian oil in an attempt to deny the Kremlin of war resources, as President Vladimir Putin said more strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure were "inevitable".
The price cap, previously negotiated on a political level between the G7 group of wealthy democracies and the European Union, will come into effect with an EU embargo on Russian crude oil from Monday.
The embargo will prevent shipments of Russian crude by tanker vessel to the EU, which account for two thirds of imports, potentially depriving Russia's war chest of billions of euros.
"The G7 and Australia... reached consensus on a maximum price of 60 US dollars per barrel for seaborne Russian origin crude oil in line with" the European Union, the G7 said in a statement.

Poland had refused to back the price cap plan over concerns the ceiling was too high, before its ambassador to the bloc confirmed Warsaw's agreement on Friday evening.
The price cap is designed to make it harder to bypass the sanctions by selling beyond the EU.
Poland's ambassador Andrzej Sados also said Brussels would take into account Polish and Baltic state suggestions for a "painful and expensive" ninth round of sanctions against Moscow.
The White House described the deal as "welcome news", saying a price cap will help limit Putin's ability to fund the Kremlin's "war machine".

With this vote, the EU has officially adopted the USB-C connections used by Android-based smartphones, making it mandatory for Apple to redesign the charging port for the iPhone and other iOS devices.
Complaints from iPhone and Android users about needing to buy new chargers for their devices sparked the shift, which had been considered for years.
Although Apple is predicted to be among the most affected among major providers of electronic products to European customers, experts also anticipate a possible positive influence as it may encourage shoppers to purchase the company's newest gadgets rather than ones without USB-C.

As Russia's offensive against Ukraine intensified with fierce shelling and missile attacks on Day 6 of the war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the European Parliament.&nbsp;The speech, delivered virtually from Kyiv, received a standing ovation at the meeting.
Zelenskyy sought Ukraine's induction into the European Union, a demand which has been a thorn in Vladimir Putin's side and is believed to be one of the main reasons that Russia invaded its neighbour.

A day earlier, Zelenskyy had signed an application for Ukraine to join the European Union.
Meanwhile, the second round of negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv are set to happen on March 2.&nbsp;The first round of talks near the Belarus-Ukraine border on February 28 did not lead to any breakthroughs, but the two sides "found certain points on which common positions could be foreseen".
Ukraine has claimed that over 350 civilians have died so far in Russian attacks.

Data is very important to Meta&rsquo;s advertisement business, and the frameworks that transfer said data through countries are currently non-functional.
"We have absolutely no desire and no plans to withdraw from Europe, but the simple reality is that Meta, and many other businesses, organisations and services, rely on data transfers between the EU and the US in order to operate global services," the firm said in a statement.

The US and EU&rsquo;s Privacy Shield online data sharing arrangement was invalidated by a top European court, and has left many global tech businesses in lurch.
Meta had earlier wrote in its Securities and Exchange Commission filing that &ldquo;If a new transatlantic data transfer framework is not adopted... we will likely be unable to offer a number of our most significant products and services, including Facebook and Instagram, in Europe.&rdquo;
Meta recently saw a US-record drop in market value after an earnings call that reported Facebook&rsquo;s first-ever drop in global user base.
