Enhance the strength of your password with emojis. Security expert explains how and why it may work.

Did you know that you can use emojis as one of the characters for your passwords? Yes, that&rsquo;s true. Security expert, Stan Kaminsky at the cybersecurity giant Kaspersky suggests using emoticons to make all your cyber passwords stronger.&nbsp;
He told The Sun, "When intruders try to brute-force a password containing letters, numbers and punctuation marks, there are fewer than a hundred variations for each symbol they need to pick. But there are more than 3,600 standardized emojis in Unicode, so adding one to your password forces hackers to go through around 3,700 variants per symbol.&rdquo;
Emojis are easier to remember and are not generally used by hackers when they forcefully try log into someone else's accounts.
However, Kaminsky warned that not all websites accept emojis as passwords and it may also slow down your log in process. So, he advised against using emojis that might potentially reveal your identity, particularly the frequently used ones, and advocated the inclusion of one or two emojis alongside a conventional alphanumeric password.&nbsp;

A new study published in Frontiers in Psychology revealed that people also use emojis to hide their real emotions along with expressing themselves. Researchers observed 1,289 volunteers from Japan using emojis in response to online conversations. They found that participants used happy emojis mostly to hide negative emotions.&nbsp;
More negative emojis, such as sad face emojis, were only used in case of very strong negative feelings.&nbsp;
It was thus concluded that people mostly use positive emojis when they feel negative but do not want to express or when they talk to people, they do not want to hurt or cause trouble for.&nbsp;

Gen Z feels that thumbs-up emoji comes as passive-aggressive, hurtful and rude. Recently, 2,000 people from age 16 to 29 participated in a survey and it was found that the heart and thumbs-up emojis are for boomers.&nbsp;
