Local market associations and Hindu-right wing groups have asked Muslims in Uttarakhand's Purola not to hold Eid gatherings and prayers saying it will be provocative and disturb the peace in the town.

The tension began with an alleged attempt to kidnap a minor girl on May 27. Even though the accused were from both the communities and were arrested the next day, Hindu-right wing groups protested and put up posters asking Muslims to leave Purola.&nbsp;

"Abraham told Ishmael about Allah's order and the son said that the order be followed. Then Allah told Abraham that he was successful, and he should sacrifice an animal," the ex-CM recounted.

A dispute erupted at a housing society in Thane, Maharashtra ahead of the Islamic festival of Eid-al-Adha. After one person brought some goats to his house on June 27, other residents staged protests.
The person who faced the protests, identified as Mohseen Sheikh, said that he used to get space in the society to keep goats every year, and never slaughtered them on the property.
This year, he was not allotted space, so he took the goats to his house, as per an India Today report. After the police intervened, Sheikh took the goats out of the society.

At least 3 rockets landed near the Afghan presidential palace in Kabul on Tuesday during the Eid-al-Adha prayers, according to Afghan officials.
Reports say the rockets were fired at around 8 am and the sound was heard across the heavily guarded Green Zone, where the Presidential house and various embassies are located.
Afghanistan's Interior Ministry said that the rockets hit different parts of the city and according to&nbsp;initial information no casualties have been reported.
Despite the sound of rockets striking, the gathering continued with the prayers, shortly after which President Ashraf&nbsp;Ghani&nbsp;addressed the nation.
Unlike some previous years, the Taliban did not declare a ceasefire during the Eid holiday this year.
On Monday, 15 diplomatic missions and the NATO representative in Kabul urged the Taliban to halt offensives, just hours after the insurgents and the Afghan government failed to agree on a ceasefire at talks in Doha.
