The Enforcement Directorate is consucting raids at the premises of the Hiranandani Group in connection with Foreign Exchange Management Act violation, reported PTI. As per the report, search is going on at four premises including the group's head office in Mumbai.&nbsp;

As per News18, the enforcement directorate is conducting the raids after receiving some new inputs in connection with an alleged foreign exchange violation case.&nbsp;

Recently, the son of the group's co-founder Darshan Hiranandani had hit headlines in &lsquo;cash for query&rsquo; case involving former TMC MP Mahua Moitra. However, News18 quoted a source and said that this raid has no relation to the case.
In March 2022, the Income Tax Department searched around 25 premises of the Hiranandani Group in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. The search then was conducted over suspected tax evasion by the group. In response to ED's actions, an official spokesperson representing the Hiranandani Group asserted, &rdquo;we have extended full cooperation to the department by facilitating all the relevant information and clarification sought by them. Since the inquiry pertains to a 15 year old development - it took time to dig out old records. The Group understands that ED is satisfied that there were no FEMA violations. The group will remain cooperative and law abiding.

The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday searched premises of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's personal secretary Bibhav Kumar and some persons connected to the Aam Aadmi Party as part of a money laundering probe, official sources told PTI.
About 10 premises in the national capital are being covered as part of the raids. It was not immediately clear if the searches were part of an ongoing money laundering investigation or in connection with a fresh case, they said.
The locations of Bibhav Kumar and former Delhi Jal Board member Shalabh Kumar, office of party Rajya Sabha MP and national treasurer N D Gupta apart from some others are being covered by the officials of the central agency.
The ED action comes on a day when Delhi cabinet minister Atishi had said she will do an "explosive expose" on the agency.
"I will be doing an explosive expose on ED at 10am tomorrow! Watch this space #BigEDExposebyAAP," she said in a post on X on Monday.
Her Cabinet colleague, Saurabh Bharadwaj, also posted on X about it. "Big expose on BJP's Extortion Department (ED)," Bharadwaj said.&nbsp;

ED arrests 2 Ashoka University co-founders in alleged bank fraud case

Gupta brothers have been arrested in an alleged bank fraud case linked to money laundering.&nbsp;

The Enforcement Directorate has arrested two co-founders of Ashok University based in Sonipat.&nbsp; Vineet Gupta and Pranav Gupta are also promoters of Chandigarh-based pharma company Parabolic Drugs and the arrest along with the chattered accountant has been made in a money-laundering probe linked to an alleged bank fraud.
The central agency continued with its searches against the group for the second day, including at the Ashoka University's corporate and registered offices in Delhi and campus in Haryana's Sonepat. The Guptas are the co-founders of Ashoka University but had stepped down from their posts in 2022 after the CBI registered a case against them in 2021.

ED arrests Bengal minister Jyotipriya Mallick in alleged ‘ration scam’

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said Mallick was unwell and threatened to file a police case against the BJP and ED if anything happened to the minister during the searches at his residences.

West Bengal Forest Minister Jyotipriya Mallick was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate after being questioned for over 20 hours in connection to an alleged &lsquo;ration scam&rsquo;. Mallick, who was the former food minister of the state, was arrested at 3.23 a.m. on Friday. The ED sleuths had raided two houses belonging to Mallick at Kolkata's Salt Lake area. The probe agency also carried out a search at his ancestral house on Amherst Street in central Kolkata.

The Enforcement Directorate has already arrested a close aide of the minister in its probe in the alleged ration scam.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials began an early Thursday morning search at the residence of West Bengal minister Jyotipriyo Mallick in connection with an ongoing probe into the alleged multi-crore ration distribution scam, an officer said.
The ED sleuths raided two flats belonging to Mallick, who is currently the state Forest minister, at Kolkata's Salt Lake area, supported by a team of central forces, he added.
Search operations were also on at eight other flats including the residences of Mallick's former personal assistant while he was the Food minister, he said.
"The minister was not there during the raid. He came later and his phone has been taken away. There are eight officers inside. We are also conducting searches at his former personal assistant's residence in Dum Dum and a few other places," the ED officer told PTI.
The central probe agency has already arrested one person who allegedly has close links to the ruling Trinamool Congress as well as Mallick, the officer added.&nbsp;
