<p>Following the massive box office success of "Dhurandhar", Ranveer Singh on Tuesday shared the highly anticipated teaser of "Dhurandhar: The Revenge", the film's second part, which showcases his character of spy-gangster Hamza Ali Mazari transform into a killing machine in his quest for vengeance.</p>
<p>At the end of the over one-minute-long teaser, Singh's voiceover declares "Ye naya Hindustan Hai, ghar me ghusega bhi aur maarega bhi" (It's new India. We will not only infiltrate the enemy territory but also kill).</p>

<p>After earning over Rs 1,000 crore in theatres, Aditya Dhar&rsquo;s blockbuster Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and others, is now streaming on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, reaching audiences worldwide.</p>

<p>After smashing box office records by earning over Rs 1,000 crore in its theatrical run, "Dhurandhar" started streaming on Netflix from Friday with director Aditya Dhar calling it a new chapter for the movie that stayed in cinemas for more than a month.</p>
<p>Starring Ranveer Singh, Akshay Khanna, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, the film broke many records to emerge as the highest-earning single-language Hindi film in India with India net collections crossing a massive Rs 1,000 crore.</p>
<p>The film released in theatres on December 5 but continued to be watched till January before its Netflix premiere. The audiences can also watch the film in Tamil and Telugu in addition to Hindi on the streaming platform.</p>
<p>"The theatrical response to 'Dhurandhar' was deeply humbling, especially witnessing audiences connect with its story, characters, and scale. With its release on Netflix, the film begins a new chapter. <p>Sunny Deol-starrer Border 2 surpasses ₹200 crore net domestic box office in just five days, with a Day 5 collection of ₹23.31 crore, continuing its strong run.</p>

<p>Sunny Deol-starrer "Border 2" raked in Rs 23.31 crore on day five, pushing its net domestic box office collection past the Rs 200-crore mark, the makers said on Wednesday.</p>
<p>A sequel to Deol's 1997 blockbuster "Border", the movie released in theatres on January 23. It is backed by T-Series and J P Films.</p>
<p>In a press note, the makers said the film has so far grossed Rs 216.79 crore at the box office.</p>
<p>"&lsquo;Border 2&rsquo; has achieved a sensational new milestone, breaching the coveted Rs 200 plus crore mark at the Indian box office in just five days of release. After a massive long weekend, the film has held up remarkably well on its first working day, adding a strong Rs 23.31 crore in net box office collection (NBOC) on day five and taking its total collection to a thunderous Rs 216.79 crore NBOC," the note read.</p>
<p>According to the makers, "Border 2" collected Rs 32.10 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 40.59 crore on day two, Rs 57.20 crore on day three and Rs 63.59 crore on day four.</p>
<p>"Border 2" also stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.</p>
<p>While the 1997 film was based on the events of the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, "Border 2" is also set against the backdrop of the same conflict.</p>
<p>The movie reportedly didn't find a release in six Gulf nations -- Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) -- due to its alleged anti-Pakistan narrative. A response from the makers is awaited.</p>
<p>It is the second Indian film in recent times to be denied clearance for theatrical release in the Gulf countries after director Aditya Dhar&rsquo;s spy action movie "Dhurandhar".</p>
<p>"Border 2" is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. It also features Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana in pivotal roles.</p>

<p>The Indian Motion Picture Producers&rsquo; Association (IMPPA) has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene on the "unilateral" ban on Hindi film "Dhurandhar" in the United Arab Emirates and several other Middle Eastern countries, terming the move a suppression of freedom of expression.</p>
<p>In a letter addressed to the prime minister, the IMPPA said the film has been banned in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia despite receiving certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).</p>
<p>"We earnestly appeal to your kind self to intervene regarding the unilateral and uncalled for ban imposed on the film &lsquo;Dhurandhar&rsquo; by the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia. Our member producer has made this film and has released the same after getting certification by the Central Board of Film Certification and the ban imposed by the above countries is a suppression of the freedom of expression of our member as the film has emerged as one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema," the letter read.</p>
<p>The letter follows reports last month stating that &ldquo;Dhurandhar&rdquo; has been banned in the Gulf.</p>
<p>Written and directed by Aditya Dhar of "Uri: The Surgical Strike" fame, "Dhurandhar" is a high-octane spy thriller and features Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The film follows covert intelligence operations set against a backdrop of geopolitical and terror events like Kandahar plane hijack, 2001 Parliament Attack and 26/11 Mumbai attacks.</p>
<p>The film, which has led to polarising reactions from many critics and people in India, is mostly set in Lyari town of Karachi, an area known for its history of gang wars and violent turf battles.</p>
<p>The IMPPA, which described itself as the country&rsquo;s largest and oldest producers&rsquo; association, said India shares friendly relations and regular business engagement with the countries concerned across multiple sectors.</p>
<p>"We therefore humbly request that the Government of India take up this matter with the concerned authorities in these countries and make efforts to ensure that freedom of expression is respected and the ban is revoked at the earliest. We shall be highly obliged to you if you could kindly do the needful at the earliest as it is a matter of great importance to the country," the association said.</p>
<p>The letter has also been sent to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.</p>
<p>Since its release on December 5, "Dhurandhar" has emerged as the highest-earning Hindi film ever with a net India collection of over Rs 831 crore. Globally, the movie has grossed over Rs 1,220 crore. <p>Filmmaker Aditya Dhar's "Dhurandhar" has become the highest-earning Hindi film ever with a nett India collection of over Rs 831 crore, the makers said on Wednesday.</p>
<p>With its Day 33 earnings on Tuesday standing at Rs 5.70 crore nett, the Ranveer Singh-starrer's total India nett collection climbed to Rs 831.40 crore, placing it at the No. 1 spot among all Hindi releases to date.</p>
<p>"History has been rewritten. With Tuesday&rsquo;s collections, 'Dhurandhar' has officially risen to become the highest-earning Hindi film of all time, a towering achievement that has redefined Indian box office success," the makers said in a statement.</p>
<p>The top position was earlier occupied by the Hindi version of Allu Arjun's 2023 blockbuster "Pushpa 2: The Rule". The Telugu movie had earned Rs 830 crore in Hindi.</p>
<p>The other highest-earning Hindi titles are Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" and horror comedy "Stree 2", which had earned Rs 643 crore and 627 crore respectively.</p>
<p>The India box office break-up shows a robust run across weeks, with Rs 218 crore in its opening week, followed by Rs 261.50 crore in week two, Rs 189.30 crore in week three and Rs 115.70 crore in week four.</p>
<p>The film added Rs 35.80 crore over its fifth weekend before continuing its steady run during the weekdays.</p>

<p>Aditya Dhar Films decided to make the changes on their own and there was no directive from the Information and Broadcasting ministry, officials said.</p>
<p>The filmmakers, they said, approached the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with the changes -- which include muting the dialogue with words 'Baloch' and 'intelligence' -- found to be offensive to certain communities.</p>
<p>The changes were made under Rule 31 of the Cinematograph Act, which allows producers to edit an already certified movie provided it does not change the larger meaning of the scene.</p>
<p>The film, which has earned over Rs 1,000 crore at the global box office, released on December 5 and has been creating waves -- and some controversy. Set in Pakistan's Lyari town, it centres on an Indian spy, played by Ranveer, who infiltrates a local gang of criminals and arms dealers.</p>
<p>On Friday, the spy action film was declared tax free in Ladakh.</p>
<p>Making the announcement, Lt Gov Kavinder Gupta's office said in an X post that it was shot extensively in the region. "The film spotlights Ladakh&rsquo;s cinematic landscapes, signalling strong support for filmmakers and reinforcing the UT&rsquo;s push to emerge as a preferred destination for film shoots and tourism," the X post said.</p>
<p>Directed by Aditya Dhar, it also features Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and R Madhavan. The second part of the movie will release in March this year.</p>

<p>Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar say their upcoming espionage thriller &ldquo;Dhurandhar&rdquo; is crafted to match global cinema standards, with a powerful cast, high technical finesse, and a vision to elevate Indian films on the world stage.</p>

<p>Actor Ranveer Singh on Tuesday said with his upcoming film "Dhurandhar", they've tried to push the envelope and have made something that is of international level.</p>
<p>The espionage-thriller is directed, written and co-produced by &ldquo;Uri: The Surgical Strike&rdquo; fame Aditya Dhar, and is based on true events and covert operations.</p>
<p>"It is an insane trailer. I&rsquo;m proud to be part of this movie. I&rsquo;m happy to be part of something where we are trying to push for something more, take our cinema to the world, it is India&rsquo;s moment on the world stage and we want to be at the centre of it, and represent Indian cinema on global stage," Ranveer told reporters at the trailer launch of the movie.</p>
<p>"It is a complex, layered story with technical finesse and execution that one will be blown away by. I&rsquo;ve to compliment the team, the DOP, he has created a visual world that is on par with any movie in the world,&rdquo; he added.</p>
<p>Dhar said he also aims to make films that will represent India on a global stage, and &ldquo;Dhurandhar&rdquo; is one such attempt.</p>
<p>"I don&rsquo;t believe in languages in India, I believe we are representing the Indian film industry and our job is to take it to the international level, and make it stand at the same podium where South Korea&rsquo;s &lsquo;Parasite&rsquo;, and China&rsquo;s &lsquo;Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon&rsquo; were standing. I also want to reach that position where everyone will watch an Indian film that&rsquo;s entertaining, and we are not putting it in the category of arthouse. That&rsquo;s the intent,&rdquo; he said.</p>
<p>Singh is hopeful that &ldquo;Dhurandhar&rdquo; will set a new benchmark with its visually appealing world and taut and entertaining narrative.</p>
<p>"We&rsquo;ve seen films like &lsquo;Sicario&rsquo;, &lsquo;Zero dark 30&rsquo;, &lsquo;Munich&rsquo;, &lsquo;American Gangster&rsquo; were made, we want to be counted amongst the most elite instalments in the genre in the world. We are Hindi cinema, we are Indian cinema, and we are here to make our country proud,&rdquo; the actor said.</p>
<p>Praising Dhar, the &ldquo;83&rdquo; actor said he is one of those rare directors who dares to dream big and never compromises on his vision.</p>
<p>"When a person is so righteous in their intent and has a purpose behind telling a story, something great comes out of it. We faced challenges along the way and he was leading from the front with such passion that it was infectious."</p>
<p>"We were at a very similar stage in life when we went for this film. Over the past two years, we've both grown together. He had a baby boy, I had a baby girl and we worked out of our skin to make sure that our people, our team, our families, our audience are proud of what we've made over here.&rdquo;</p>
<p>&ldquo;Dhurandhar&rdquo; boasts of an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, and Manav Gohil.</p>
<p>Arjun, who plays the antagonist, called &ldquo;Dhurandhar&rdquo; an ambitious film.</p>
<p>"We had to bring our triple A game for this film. I want to thank the whole team for giving us something special. This movie will be timeless for ages,&rdquo; the actor said.</p>
<p>Madhavan, who reportedly features in the role of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, said he feels blessed to be part of this "important" film.</p>
<p>"When I was doing a look-test for the film, and it would take us three-four hours to get that look, and I would often feel, there&rsquo;s something missing, and Aditya suggested I should make my lips thinner. And then we got that resemblance that we were looking for. I realised I&rsquo;m working with all Dhurandhars,&rdquo; the actor said, without divulging details about his role.</p>
<p>Sara Arjun expressed gratitude to the makers for choosing her from among the 1300 participants who had auditioned for the part.</p>
<p>"It is a blessing to be part of this madness. It is a dream to be working with these versatile actors. I&rsquo;ve dreamt this all my life, and I keep telling my parents to pinch me,&rdquo; the actor, who has been part of films like &ldquo;Jai Ho&rdquo;, &ldquo;Jazbaa&rdquo;, and &ldquo;Ponniyin Selvan&rdquo;, said.</p>
<p>Bedi, known for his impeccable comic timing in &ldquo;Chashme Buddoor&rdquo;, &ldquo;Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi&rdquo;, and &ldquo;Shrimaan Shrimati&rdquo;, said he has tried to add a little humour to his character in the film.</p>
<p>"When I read the script, I was amazed that this is such an intense film and role, and people would expect something from me (referring to comedy), I started looking at moments where I could sprinkle humour. Then I sat with Aditya, who was a bit reluctant, and I told him, &lsquo;Please allow me to do so as people will enjoy it&rsquo;, and he did so,&rdquo; the actor said.</p>
<p>Dhar thanked the team for putting their heart and soul into making &ldquo;Dhurandhar&rdquo;.</p>
<p>"When I started writing it, we started getting people on board who were there to prove themselves. Everyone performed brilliantly, it is extraordinary... It doesn&rsquo;t happen every time. This was a project where the intent was pure, from actors to HODs, assistants to spot dada, everybody worked hard, they worked for 16 to 18 hours for one-and-half year and not once anyone complained that you&rsquo;ve made us work a lot,&rdquo; the director said.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Dhurandhar&rdquo;, presented by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, and produced by Aditya alongside Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, will arrive in theatres on December 5.</p>
