UK health minister Sajid Javid on Saturday informed that he has tested positive for Covid-19,&nbsp;&nbsp;but added that his symptoms were mild and he was thankful to have had had two doses of vaccine against the disease.
"This morning I tested positive for Covid. I&rsquo;m waiting for my PCR result, but thankfully I have had my jabs and symptoms are mild. Please make sure you come forward for your vaccine if you haven&rsquo;t already," he said in a tweet.

The study also found that the variant has much higher capacity to infect more people than the Wuhan strain. The collaborative study from India was conducted along with scientists from Cambridge Institute of Therapeutic Immunology &amp; Infectious Disease.
In terms of its increased transmissibility, the study said that the mutant variant has enhanced spike proteins for attachment to the lung epithelial cells, which had provided it with a much higher capacity to infect many more people than the Wuhan strain.

The Union Health Ministry has urged eight states and union territories to take up immediate containment measures including preventing crowds, conducting widespread testing as well as increasing vaccine coverage on a priority basis, in districts where the Delta Plus variant of coronavirus has been detected. 
The measures were suggested by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan in a letter to Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat and Haryana.

Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday reported its first Covid-19 death linked to the Delta Plus variant of SARS-CoV-2.
Genome sequencing of samples taken from a deceased Covid patient in Ujjain revealed that she had contracted the Delta Plus variant.
Ujjain's nodal Covid officer said that the woman died on May 23. He added that her husband had tested positive for Covid&nbsp;before the woman. The husband had received both doses of the vaccine while the woman was yet to receive the jab.
A total of five confirmed cases of the Delta Plus variant have come to light in the state so far. Three of those cases were reported from Bhopal and the remaining from Ujjain.Out of the five patients, four have recovered while one woman succumbed to the virus.

Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday reported its first Covid-19 death linked to the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/all-you-need-to-know-about-the-new-delta-plus-variant-of-coronavirus-1624008691604" target="_blank">Delta Plus variant</a> of SARS-CoV-2.
Genome sequencing of samples taken from a deceased Covid patient in Ujjain revealed that she had contracted the Delta Plus variant.
Ujjain's nodal Covid officer said that the woman died on May 23. He added that her husband had tested positive for Covid&nbsp;before the woman. The husband had received both doses of the vaccine while the woman was yet to receive the jab.
A total of five confirmed cases of the Delta Plus variant have come to light in the state so far. Three of those cases were reported from Bhopal and the remaining from Ujjain.Out of the five patients, four have recovered while one woman succumbed to the virus.

Karnataka Health Minister K&nbsp;Sudhakar on Wednesday said that the first case of Delta Plus strain of Covid-19 has been reported in Mysuru and the infected person is asymptomatic.

Monoclonal antibodies are clones of an antibody that targets one specific antigen. They are artificially created in the laboratory and bind to the spike protein of the SARS-COV-2 virus, blocking the entry to the healthy cells and protecting the body from the same.&nbsp;India recently approved monoclonal antibody cocktails like Casirivimab and Imdevimab.&nbsp;
