A cruise ship near Greenland has been stranded with 206 people on board.

A luxury cruise ship has been stranded after it ran aground in northwestern Greenland. Help for the 206 people on board will arrive on Friday, with the nearest vessel being 1,200 miles away.
To add to the passengers&rsquo; trouble, several cases of COVID-19 have been reported on board, as per Sydney Morning Herald. The Bahamas-flagged Norwegian cruise ship reportedly has enough supplies to last till help comes.
Brian Jensen of the Joint Arctic Command said in a statement there is no immediate danger to human life or the environment, but that officials &ldquo;take this incident very seriously,&rdquo; Associated Press reported.
The ship was expected to free itself by using the high tide on Tuesday, however, its attempts failed. &ldquo;Regardless, the most important thing for us is that everyone gets to safety.&rdquo; Jensen said.

US media reported that the outbreak occurred on the ship during the voyage from Texas to Mexico with at least 284 out of 2,881passengers and 34 out of 1,159 crew members falling sick

Over 300 passengers of a US cruise ship are down with an unidentified sickness.
The passengers of the infamous Ruby Princess cruise ship, which made headlines in 2020 for several COVID-19 outbreaks, have been ill following a mysterious outbreak during voyage from&nbsp; February 26 to March 5, as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
US media reported that the outbreak occured during voyage from Texas to Mexico with at least 284 out of 2,881 passengers and 34 out of 1,159 crew members falling sick.
Patients have been diagnosed with symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea as per the US health regulator with the cause of the outbreak still unknown.

In a chilling reminder of Titanic, a Norwegian cruise ship hit an iceberg off the Alaska coast on Saturday. 
In a video that is being shared online purpotedly shows the cruise liner hit a piece of the iceberg. Passengers can also be heard exclaiming that it is Titanic 2.0. 
According to a CNN report, the ship hit what is called a 'growler' - an iceberg that is less than two meters across and has less than one meter showing above the water. 
The report said that the ship has sustained damage to the front portion on its right side. 
The nine-night cruise was cancelled and it returned to its home port of Seattle for repairs.

The Hindustan Times has reported that the health authorities in Goa are testing all the 2,000 passengers onboard the cruise ship.
The ship had come from Mumbai and is docked at Mormugao cruise terminal. The infected crew member has been put under isolation, the report added.
Operators of the Cordelia cruise ship have been asked to conduct Covid-19 tests on all the passengers through the Vasco-based Salgaonkar Medical Research Centre Hospital. All the passengers have been asked to stay on the cruise ship till their test results arrive.

They said 388 cases were detected on Sunday from 3,604 tests, a positivity rate (cases per 100 test) of 10.7 per cent.
The addition during the day took the tally in the coastal state to 1,81,570, while one death increased the toll to 3,523, an official said.
