The government on 10 February withdrew its appeal to celebrate February 14 as &lsquo;Cow Hug Day&rsquo;, three days after the Animal Welfare Board of India issued an order to this effect, The Indian Express reported. &nbsp;
"The appeal for celebration of Cow Hug Day on 14 February stands withdrawn as directed by the Animal Husbandary Ministry", the fresh order issued on February 10 read.&nbsp;

Kerala BJP president K Surendran has reportedly welcomed the Animal Welfare Board's appeal to celebrate Cow Hug Day on February 14.
According to a India Today report, Surendran on Thursday said that cows have done more good to people in the state that the present Left government.&nbsp;
