Rohit Shetty&rsquo;s &lsquo;Cirkus&rsquo;, starring Ranveer Singh, failed to make a mark on day one. The audience had high expectations from the film but they seem to be left disappointed.'Cirkus' opened to a low occupancy rate in the morning and afternoon shows and it could barely attract the audience in the evening. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, it has made between Rs 6.35 to Rs 7.35 crore on its first day.
Reports say that this is Rohit Shetty&rsquo;s worst opening in a decade. Even his last movie &lsquo;Sooryavanshi&rsquo; which released in the pandemic made a double-digit opening (Rs 26.29 cr.). Simmba made Rs. 20.72 crore on its first day.
As per reports, it is not just the bad reviews from the critics but also a tough competition from James Cameron&rsquo;s &lsquo;Avatar: the Way Of Water,&rsquo; that has affected the performance of Shetty&rsquo;s film on the box office.
&lsquo;Cirkus&rsquo; that shows Ranveer Singh in a double role also stars, Siddhartha Jadhav, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Murli Sharma, Sulbha Arya, and Vrajesh Hirjee, among others. It also has Deepika Padukone in special appearances.

Rohit Shetty's next film is <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/tv/ranveer-singh-is-already-shortlisting-baby-names-with-deepika-padukone-1634477075969" target="_blank">Ranveer Singh</a>-starrer comedy 'Cirkus', based on William Shakespeare's classic play 'The Comedy of Errors', which revolves around two sets of identical twins who were accidentally separated at birth.

In 'Cirkus', Ranveer plays a double role, so there's twice the amount of fun that fans can expect. The film is currently being shot and no release timeline has been announced. Reports say, Deepika Padukone will also be seen in a song from the film.
The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and Vrajesh Hirjee, among others.

Ranveer Singh also has a busy year ahead, he will be seen in Kabir Khan&rsquo;s directorial venture &rsquo;83&rsquo;. Apart from that, he is working with director Shankar for the Hindi remake of &lsquo;Anniyaan&rsquo;.
Ranveer will also be seen in comedy &lsquo;Jayeshbhai Jordaar&rsquo;, Karan Johar&rsquo;s 'Takht' and &lsquo;Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani&rsquo; along with Alia Bhatt.

Titled 'Cirkus' the film will be&nbsp;Shetty&rsquo;s take on William Shakespeare&rsquo;s classic play The Comedy of Errors. The film to star&nbsp;Pooja Hegde,&nbsp;Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra&nbsp;among others.&nbsp;It will go on floors in November and will&nbsp;be shot in Mumbai, Ooty, and Goa.
