You need to clear obstacles and bear the pain when you are down and play different kinds of bowling, various questions are asked on and off the field. To play 100 Tests, you need a minimum of 10 years and he has played for 13-14 years. It is a tribute to his skill which is there but so many other things are also there."

<li>Preparations for 2nd Test: "We were very lucky to get a week in Nagpur. In the five sessions, there was a lot of quality and specific work, and all the boys felt that we went into the series with good preparation and a lot of volume behind us."</li>

On counterattacking cricket: Sometimes on tricky wickets, in different conditions, you need to play slightly differently. You have to strike a fine balance between defence and being able to put the attack back on the opposition bowlers. Sometimes on wickets like these, if you sit back and are not able to put that pressure back, it can build up to a point where you can lose two to three quick wickets. Ability to put pressure back on bowlers made the difference and that&rsquo;s what Rohit did.

Reports suggest KL Rahul was hit on the hand while receiving throwdowns during a nets session. While there's some bruising, Rathour is hopeful that Rahul will be fine to lead India on Dec 22.
In case Rahul isn't fit, Cheteshwar Pujara, who was picked as the vice-captain ahead of the first Test, will lead India.

A brilliant batting display by Chesteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill saw both batters get a hundred each to their name. Cheteshwar Pujara (102*) ended a 3-year wait for his 19th Test century off 130 balls, which also became the 34-year-old's fastest ton so far. On the other end, Shubman Gill recorded his maiden Test century before he was dismissed from 110.
Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav had helped the team take a massive 254-run lead with his impressive figures of 5 for 40 as India bowled Bangladesh out for just 150. Mohammed Siraj also starred with the ball, snaffling three for 20.
The visitors will be hoping to wrap things up on Saturday to get an extra day's rest, with the second Test starting on December 22.
