The Chairman of the Senior selection committee, alleged many players in Indian cricket take injections to get fit even when they are not. He highlighted that several cricketers have their own doctors outside of the BCCI medical team who provide them with the supplies. He further said that some star players get a green signal from the National Cricket Academy even when they are not fully fit.
The 57-year-old claimed that players know which injections to take ahead of big tournaments, and these are not detected by anti-doping agencies.&nbsp;

57-year-old Sharma revealed that the Kohli-Ganguly ego war started when Kohli called a press conference ahead of the South Africa tour and told the press that BCCI President never persuaded him not to step down as T20 captain.
The BCCI chief selector made it clear that Ganguly did ask Kohli to not quit captaincy in the shortest format during a video conference meeting where others were present. Sharma said Kohli probably didn't listen or might have missed what Ganguly said.
Chetan Sharma stated that 'Kohli tried to defame Ganguly in the media when he deliberately spoke about the change in captaincy ahead of India's South Africa tour as he felt it was the former Indian skipper behind his ODI captaincy sacking.'

The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), comprising Ashok Malhotra, Sulakshana Naik and Jatin Paranjpe, is likely to meet in Mumbai on December 29 to interview the prospective candidates for the new national selection panel.
It is understood that BCCI is in the process of shortlisting the names for interview and last committee's chairman Chetan Sharma has a bright chance of being in the pruned list along with his central zone colleague Harvinder Singh.

What next for Team India after T20 World Cup disappointment

While fingers were already being pointed out at Chetan Sharma’s selection committee before the 15-member squad travelled Down Under, the 10-wicket mauling in Adelaide will definitely force the BCCI to make some tough calls.

In the hindsight, for India, experience alone is not doing the magic in the ICC tournaments. And age, age can drive the BCCI up the wall for it has backfired yet again. Whether the board now opts for the flamboyance of youth, remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure, after another disappointing display, heads will roll! Even as there are a few between ages 30-35, their failure to justify their position in the side may pave the way for Team India to look to the future.
From the leadership perspective as well, India clearly need to change gears. Rohit Sharma has been the most successful skipper in the Indian Premier League, the victorious run even translated in the bilateral series, but it got all phased out when it mattered the most. India were first embarrassed in Asia Cup, then at the T20 World Cup stage. BCCI's chief selector, Chetan Sharma admitted that they made a mistake in rushing Jasprit Bumrah's recovery to make him available for the T20 world cup.

Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the Asia Cup due to a stress fracture on his back but was recalled for the South Africa and Australia series, only to be injured again, which ruled him out of the World Cup.

With Bumrah not being named in the recent squads that BCCI announced for the upcoming series against New Zealand and Bangladesh, Sharma said that it was to reduce the stress on the Indian pacer's workload.
Admitting that Bumrah wasn't fully fit to participate in the home series against South Africa and Australia, he said that rushing him to recover for the world cup led to him missing out the marquee event entirely.
"We hurried up with Jasprit Bumrah a bit, we tried as the World Cup was coming and see what happened. We are without Jasprit Bumrah for this World Cup," the chief selector said.
Bumrah who was not a part of India's squad for the Asia Cup due to a stress fracture in his back. But the fast bowler made a return to the side against South Africa only to be ruled out again.&nbsp;
The chief selector however said that Bumrah will be a part of the squad soon and also requested the media to understand that there's a reason for resting certain players as they are trying to manage the workload of every player.

With the Indian team's run of sub-par performances and average results in major tournaments, the BCCI is likely to appoint a new selection panel, which would likely mean curtains on Chetan Sharma's tenure as the Chairman of the National Selection Committee.&nbsp;

Chetan Sharma, the current Chairman of the National Selection Committee, has his fate hanging in the balance as a result of a string of sub-par performances of the Indian cricket team at the recent multi-nation events.
The BCCI is looking to rejig the senior selection panel after the T20 World Cup. That could mean an end to the former Indian pacer's tenure as Chairman. A senior BCCI official also stated that many people were not very happy with Sharma at the moment.&nbsp;
The Indian team, which is currently in Australia for the T20 World Cup hasn't won a major tournament since the Champions Trophy 2013, held in England. The Indian team has been inconsistent with their recent performances. The team's performance at the current T20 World Cup could prove pivotal in changing his fortune.
The current chairman will still be holding his post till the BCCI selects the new Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC). With Debashish Mohanty's tenure also coming to an end in the selection panel, it will be interesting to see who will be selected in his place with Shiv Sunder Das and Deep Dasgupta emerging as two possible candidates.
