The team found that the risk factors contributed to a higher chance of complications like&nbsp;pre-term birth, low birth weight, and&nbsp;fetal&nbsp;death.&nbsp;&nbsp;
With every additional cardiovascular risk factor, the research team observed&nbsp;there was a graded and consistently higher risk for each of the pregnancy complications.&nbsp;Making matters worse,&nbsp;more than 50% of the women studied were found to be living with at least one of the risk factors and younger women had a tendency to be unaware of their own cardiovascular disease risk.&nbsp;

But, Minneapolis-based cardiologist Dr. Elizabeth Klodas pointed that the study particularly aimed to observe populations with a high risk of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, she added that these findings may not be applicable to the younger population who do not have any heart disorders. In fact, a recent study published&nbsp;in the journal&nbsp;Circulation claims that just a 20 per cent reduction of sugar from packaged foods and 40 per cent reduction from beverages, 2.48 million cases of cardiovascular disease in the U.S. could be avoided.

The proposal also says that the&nbsp;reduction&nbsp;could help prevent nearly 7,50,000 cases of diabetes in the U.S.

The claims are based on a model designed by researchers from&nbsp;Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Tufts University, and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
The report urges people to choose unsweetened versions of products and call upon food companies to reduce portion sizes for products that are designed to serve a single person. A new study has found that frequently eating out is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer. The findings of the study appeared in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, published by Elsevier.
Investigators analysed data from responses to questionnaires administered during face-to-face household interviews from 35,084 adults aged 20 years or older who participated in the National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey 1999-2014. Respondents reported their dietary habits including the frequency of eating meals prepared away from home.
According to researchers, restaurant meals tend to be higher in energy density, fat and sodium but lower in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and protective nutrients such as dietary fiber and antioxidants.
During 291,475 person-years of follow-up, 2,781 deaths occurred, including 511 deaths from cardiovascular disease and 638 deaths from cancer. Future studies are still needed to look more closely at the association of eating out with death from cardiovascular disease, cancer, dementia and other chronic diseases.
