<h3>Cannes 2024 opening ceremony&nbsp;</h3>
The 10-day-long film festival was opened with the screening of 'The Second Act,' a French comedy starring Lea Seydoux, Vincent Lindon, Louis Garrel and Rapha&euml;l Quenard. During the opening ceremony, Hollywood veteran Streep was given an honorary Palme d'Or for her five-decade-long contribution to cinema through which she delivered countless masterpieces. &nbsp;

Godr&egrave;che's short film Moi Aussi will premiere on Wednesday. The organisers shared a list of films from across the globe which will be screened at this year&rsquo;s Cannes Film Festival.&nbsp;

After her documentary &lsquo;A Night of Knowing Nothing&rsquo;, which won the &lsquo;Golden Eye&rsquo; award at the French film festival in 2021, Kapadia is back with her fiction debut, &lsquo;All We Imagine As Light&rsquo; which will screen In Competition. The film follows the story of two nurses from Kerala who work in Mumbai. The film is an Indo-French co-production. &nbsp;
Kapadia's film will be presented under the segment alongside 19 highly anticipated titles, including &lsquo;Kinds of Kindness&rsquo; by Yorgos Lanthimos, &lsquo;Megalopolis&rsquo; by Francis Ford Coppola, &lsquo;Oh Canada&rsquo; by Paul Scrader, &lsquo;Bird&rsquo; by Andrea Arnold, &lsquo;The Shrouds&rsquo; by David Cronenberg, and &lsquo;Anora&rsquo; by Sean Baker. &nbsp;

Shahana Goswami is the lead actor in the film backed by British Film Institude, BBC Film, Zdf/Arte and Cnc.&nbsp;

Hollywood actor Michael Douglas will receive the honorary Palme d&rsquo;Or at the Cannes Film Festival awards. Organisers of the prestigious film festival said they would pay tribute to the two-time Oscar winner at the opening ceremony on May 16 in recognition of &lsquo;his brilliant career as well as his engagement for cinema&rsquo;. Douglas is known for his work in films such as &lsquo;The China Syndrome&rsquo;, &lsquo;Basic Instinct&rsquo;, &lsquo;Falling Down&rsquo; and &lsquo;Behind the Candelabra&rsquo;, all of which have been screened at Cannes. 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, who was a former scientist and aerospace engineer of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). He was accused of espionage. Bengaluru-based chef Manu Chandra was recently invited by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to handle the catering for the India Pavillion and the inaugural dinner at Cannes Film Festival. He wanted to showcase the diversity of India while also keeping the French Riviera setup in mind. He instantly decided to create an amalgamation of French and Indian cuisine. &nbsp;

His varied menu included canapes, vada pav with toasted French brioche buns, duck confit galouti kababs, keema biryani and jackfruit samosas. Some more interesting and mouth-watering dishes by the chef included Achari asparagus and baingan ka bharta in tart shells.&nbsp;
The menu for the inaugural dinner, the appetizers included pyaz ki kachori in croissant pastry while the main course&nbsp;included lal maas lamb medallion, which was served with a risotto-like dal and ker sangri.
