Taking a cue from the Yogi Adityanath government's method of punishing alleged miscreants, the Mumbai police on January 23 razed down what they claimed were illegal properties of the people involved in violence on the day of Ram temple consecration.&nbsp;
On January 22, at least a dozen people were arrested days after the clashes in Mira Road. The car and bike rally that was passing through the area was reportedly attacked.&nbsp;
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that anyone trying to disrupt law and order would be punished severely.
"The complete details of the incident in the Naya Nagar area of Mira-Bhyander were taken last night only. I was in constant touch with the Mira-Bhyander Police Commissioner till 3.30 am Monday," he said on X.
"Police have been instructed to take strict action against the accused. In this case, 13 accused have been detained so far and the process of identifying the other accused is underway by checking the CCTV footage. Anyone trying to disrupt law and order in Maharashtra will not be tolerated," he said.

More than 250 shanties on allegedly illegally occupied government land were razed in Haryana's Tauru, 20 kms from violence-hit Nuh. According to news reports, the police claimed that Bangladeshi immigrants had built houses on government land. News reports stated that the police have claimed that many people involved in July 31 violence in Nuh were from the settlement.&nbsp;

Disdained politician Shrikant Tyagi on Monday moved a surrender application in Noida court saying he was not evading. Tyagi's lawyers reportedly said their client was ready to cooperate, and was not hiding. 
They also urged for his judicial custody. The court has reserved the matter for August 10, as per a report by Republic World. 
Following Tyagi's 'fleeing' speculationt, Noida Police announced a bounty of Rs 25,000 for his arrest earlier in the day.

Self-proclaimed BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi, who has been booked for assaulting a woman at a society in Uttar Pradesh&rsquo;s Noida, on Monday moved a surrender application in court saying he was not absconding after the police announced a bounty of Rs 25,000 for his arrest.

The woman had objected to Tyagi planting some trees in the society's common area, citing violation of rules. He claimed he was within his rights to do so.

Stating that everything should be fair, the Supreme Court on Thursday  asked the Uttar Pradesh government to file a status report on the demolitions following the clashes over comments of Prophet Muhammad by now-suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma. The Supreme Court heard the pleas filed by Muslim body Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind seeking directions to the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure that no further demolitions of properties of alleged accused of recent Prophet row violence are carried out in the State.
The Muslim body in its plea has said that no demolitions of properties be carried out without following due process and such exercise is done only after adequate notice.
The plea alleged that the adoption of such extra-legal measures is clearly in violation of the principles of natural justice, especially when the apex court is hearing the present matter.

Thirteen FIRs have also been registered in nine districts in this connection, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said in a statement.
Of the 337 people arrested, 92 are from Prayagraj, 83 from Saharanpur, 52 from Hathras, 41 from Ambedkar Nagar, 40 from Moradabad, 18 from Firozabad, six from Aligarh and five from Jalaun, Kumar said giving in a district-wise breakup.
Of the 13 cases, three were registered each in Prayagraj and Saharanpur, and one each in Firozabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Moradabad, Hathras, Aligarh, Lakhimpur Kheri and Jalaun, the officer said.
A mob had pelted stones at the police during the violence in Prayagraj and Saharanpur. At least four other cities had witnessed similar scenes during the marches that were carried out in In Prayagraj, a mob had set a few motorcycles and carts on fire, and also attempted to set ablaze a police vehicle in protest against the controversial remark on Prophet Mohammad by the now-suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma. A policeman was also injured in the chaos. Police had used tear gas and lathis to disperse the protesters.
In Saharanpur, protesters shouted slogans against Sharma and demanded death sentence for her.
There were protests in Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur and Lucknow as well.
