<p>Veteran actor Govardhan Asrani, known for his unforgettable role as the jailer in &lsquo;Sholay&rsquo; and his comic brilliance across decades of Hindi cinema, passed away at 84 in Mumbai.</p>

<p>Veteran actor Govardhan Asrani, who endeared himself to the audiences by playing the eccentric jailer in &ldquo;Sholay&rdquo; and many other memorable roles in over 300 films, passed away in a hospital on Monday (October 20, 2025). He was 84.</p>
<p>The actor, popularly known as Asrani in the industry, was known for his impeccable comic timing in Hindi cinema but fans most remember him for the role of the dictatorial jailer in &ldquo;Sholay&rdquo; who often mouths the dialogue &ldquo;Hum angrezon ke zamaane ke jailer hain&rdquo;.</p>
<p>His role in the 1975 film still evokes laughter all these years later. Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar modelled the character after Charlie Chaplin in &ldquo;The Great Dictator&rdquo;.</p>
<p>According to Asrani&rsquo;s manager Babubhai Thiba, the actor was admitted to Bharatiya Arogya Nidhi Hospital in suburban Juhu four days ago.</p>
<p>&ldquo;He was a bit unwell. He was admitted following breathing issues. He passed away today at 3:00 PM. We were told by the doctors that water had accumulated in his lungs,&rdquo; Thiba told PTI.</p>
<p>Asrani acted with some of the biggest directors in each era of his five-decade-long career and worked with almost every top star be it Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan or others. Though trained at the FTII, Asrani was pigeonholed in comedic roles, often playing the hero&rsquo;s friend. He first got noticed for his role in &ldquo;Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar&rdquo;. His other memorable role is of a man competing with the hero for the attention of the same woman in &ldquo;Chhoti Si Baat&rdquo;.</p>
<p>Asrani started his Hindi cinema career with 1967 film &ldquo;Hare Kaanch Ki Churiyan&rdquo; and then went on to act in several movies. Hrishikesh Mukherjee was a mentor and guide to the actor and always gave him a role in his movies. He also acted in many of Gulzar&rsquo;s films like &ldquo;Mere Apne&rdquo;, &ldquo;Koshish&rdquo; and &ldquo;Parichay&rdquo;. Asrani&rsquo;s other popular roles were in movie such as &ldquo;Bawarchi&rdquo;, &ldquo;Abhimaan&rdquo;, &ldquo;Do Ladke Dono Kadke&rdquo; and &ldquo;Bandish&rdquo;.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Chupke Chupke&rdquo;,&rdquo;Rafoo Chakkar&rdquo;,&rdquo;Balika Badhu&rdquo;, &ldquo;Heeralal Pannalal&rdquo;, &ldquo;Pati Patni Aur Woh&rdquo; are also the films where Asrani impressed fans with his impeccable comic timing.</p>
<p>In the 2000s, he paired up with Priyadarshan for many of the director&rsquo;s comedies like &ldquo;Hera Pheri&rdquo;, &ldquo;Chup Chup Ke&rdquo;, &ldquo;Hulchul&rdquo;, &ldquo;Bhool Bhulaiyaa&rdquo; and &ldquo;Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal&rdquo;.</p>
<p>There were a few movies where he went against his popular image and starred in negative roles such as &ldquo;Chaitali&rdquo; and &ldquo;Koshish&rdquo;. He also directed the movie &ldquo;Chala Murari Hero Banne&rdquo;.</p>
<p>In a 2017 interview with PTI, Asrani spoke about his love for theatre and how it helped actors reinvent themselves. He felt the audience was not accepting experimental cinema.</p>
<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s good that people are expermenting with cinema. They are trying to do serious and soulful cinema but such films don&rsquo;t stay in theatres for over a week. People ultimately go and watch Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan films. Quality cinema is not changing anything,&rdquo; he said at the time.</p>
<p>The actor&rsquo;s last rites were held this evening at Santacruz crematorium which was attended by family and close friends.</p>
<p>&ldquo;We did not inform anyone about his demise as it was his wish that we should keep it a private thing,&rdquo; Thiba added.</p>
<p>Many in the industry mourned the actor&rsquo;s death.</p>
<p>Penning a heartfelt note about his frequent co-star, Akshay Kumar wrote: &ldquo;Speechless with grief at the passing of Asrani ji. We had just shared the warmest of hugs just a week back at the shoot of &lsquo;Haiwaan&rsquo;. Bahot pyare insaan the&hellip; He had the most legendary comic timing.</p>
<p>&ldquo;From all my cult films &lsquo;Hera Pheri&rsquo; to &lsquo;Bhagam Bhag&rsquo; to &lsquo;De Dana Dan&rsquo;, &lsquo;Welcome&rsquo; and now our unreleased &lsquo;Bhoot Bangla&rsquo; and &lsquo;Haiwaan&rsquo;&hellip;I had worked and learned so much from him. What an absolute loss to our industry. God bless you Asrani Sir, for giving us a million reasons to laugh. Om Shanti.&rdquo; Akshay also shared a picture with Asrani.</p>
<p>Filmmaker Anees Bazmee, who has worked with Asrani on films like &ldquo;Welcome&rdquo; and &ldquo;Singh is Kinng&rdquo;, fondly recalled his on and off-screen equation.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m deeply saddened. He was a fantastic actor and an equally great human being. It&rsquo;s a treat to work with him, he would make us laugh off-screen as well, on-screen he has successfully entertained us.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;ve known him for 40 years. He had a trademark style in terms of how he would laugh, and that no other actor could do it. He was a versatile actor but people know him more so for his comedy. I&rsquo;ll miss him a lot,&rdquo; Bazmee told PTI.</p>
<p>Lyricist and poet Manoj Muntashir expressed grief over the demise of Asrani.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The jailer from the British era, you left behind an era of comedy! We will miss you a lot, Mr. Asrani! May God grant you a place at His feet! Om,&rdquo; he wrote on X.</p>
<p>Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan expressed his fondness for Asrani, who he referred to as a &ldquo;true icon&rdquo; of Indian cinema.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Grew up watching the incredible comic timing and charisma of Asrani ji. A true icon of Indian cinema. His legacy will live on forever.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Television star Pankaj Dheer, known for playing Karna in B R Chopra's "Mahabharat" and king Shivdutt in fantasy drama "Chandrakanta", has died at the age of 68 following a battle with cancer.</p>
<p>"He passed away due to cancer this morning. He had been in and out of hospital in the past months," producer and friend Ashoke Pandit told PTI.</p>
<p>The cremation will be held later in the day.</p>
<p>Dheer, who hailed from Punjab, started out as an actor in the 1980s, featuring in minor roles in many movies.</p>
<p>His big break came in 1988 when he was cast as Karna in the small screen adaptation of Hindu epic "Mahabharata". After that, his popularity peaked and he starred in many movies such as "Sadak", "Sanam Bewafa" and "Aashik Awara".</p>
<p>From 1994 to 1996, Dheer starred in TV series "Chandrakanta", loosely based on author Devaki Nandan Khatri's 1888 novel of the same name. He essayed the popular role of Shivdutt, the king of fictional kingdom of Chunargarh.</p>
<p>Some of his notable movies also include Bobby Deol's "Soldier", Shah Rukh Khan's "Baadshah", Akshay Kumar's "Andaz", and Ajay Devgn's "Zameen" and "Tarzan'.</p>
<p>In the late 2000s, Dheer appeared in many daily soaps "Teen Bahuraaniyaan", "Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat" and "Sasural Simar Ka".</p>
<p>Dheer is survived by wife Anita Dheer and son Nikitin Dheer, who is also an actor.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Actor Paresh Rawal's upcoming film "The Taj Story" has sparked a huge controversy over its poster depicting him removing the dome of the Taj Mahal and a statue of Lord Shiva emerging from it, prompting the filmmakers to say it does not "deal with any religious matters".</p>
<p>Presented by Swarnim Global Service Pvt Ltd, the movie is directed by Tushar Amrish Goel and produced by CA Suresh Jha.</p>
<p>Rawal and the filmmakers released the poster of the film on Monday.</p>

<p>The backlash was swift with many social media users terming it "propaganda" and "fake".</p>
<p>Swarnim Global Service Pvt Ltd countered with a statement shortly after.</p>
<p>"The makers of the film 'The Taj Story' clarify that the movie does not deal with any religious matters, nor does it claim that a Shiv temple resides within the Taj Mahal. It focuses solely on historical facts. We would kindly request you to watch the film and form your own opinion," it said.</p>

<p>But the debate continued.</p>
<p>Several people said it appeared to be the latest example of propaganda in cinema after recently released titles like "The Udaipur Files" and "The Bengal Files".</p>
<p>"Looking at the poster, it seems like an attempt to portray the Taj Mahal as a religious site. The Taj Mahal is the tomb of two lovers. Nothing more than that.</p>
<p>"In the medieval period, all the European travelers who came to India, whether Fran&ccedil;ois Bernier, Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, or Peter Mundy, described the Taj Mahal as a mausoleum built by Shah Jahan, not a temple," said one user on X.</p>
<p>Another user criticised Rawal for doing a movie like "The Taj Story".</p>
<p>"What a downfall @SirPareshRawal. From 'OMG' to #fake 'The Taj Story'," posted the user, referring to Rawal's critically-acclaimed 2012 movie "Oh My God", in which he played an atheist lawyer who sues God.</p>
<p>"The film The Taj Story revives the debunked claim that the Taj Mahal was once a Hindu temple. Historians reject it as pseudo-history, but critics fear it fuels communal divides. The Taj remains a 17th-century Mughal masterpiece - India&rsquo;s shared heritage," a user posted.</p>
<p>Another post read, "Bollywood now pushing propaganda with #TheTajStory a film twisting history by showing the Taj Mahal as a temple. A country boasting of being the 4th largest economy is drowning in fantasy &amp; communal myths. When propaganda feels ashamed, you know it&rsquo;s India 2025." A person called Taj Mahal "India&rsquo;s pride in global tourism".</p>
<p>"But BJP/filmmakers wants to rewrite its story with The Taj Story movie&mdash;turning heritage into propaganda. History doesn&rsquo;t change just because you want votes," the person posted.</p>
<p>Rawal was BJP MP from Ahmedabad East from 2014 to 2019.</p>
<p>Though the plotline film remains unclear, the makers had said in an earlier statement that the film raises the "questions and the secrets that are buried behind the 22 sealed doors of The Taj Mahal".</p>
<p>The movie also "promises to present a chapter from Indian history that no one has ever dared to present before", the makers claimed.</p>
<p>On August 14 this year, Rawal, 70, had shared a brief scene from the movie on his social media handles. He captioned it, "After 79 year of Independence are we still a slave of Intellectual Terrorism?" The courtroom scene showed Rawal's character arguing in front of the judges and saying, "Azaadi ke 78 saal baad bhi humari soch, nazariya unhi logo ke talve chaat raha hai jinhone lesh matra sankoch nahi kiya humari poori sabhyata ko khatam karne ki, humare astitva ko mitane ki. (Even after 78 years of independence, our thinking and perspective still bow down to those who did not hesitate in the slightest to try and destroy our entire civilisation and erase our existence)." The character then says it is time to now raise questions.</p>
<p>"If we do not raise them today, our history and our very existence will remain nothing more than questions," he adds.</p>
<p>The cast of "The Taj Story" also includes actors Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sneha Wagh, and Namit Das.</p>

<p>Zubeen Garg, who passed away at 52 in Singapore, leaves behind 38,000 songs across 40 languages, a legacy of rebellion, compassion, and unmatched artistry that made him an icon beyond music.</p>

<p>His music captured the hearts and imagination of millions without any doubt, 'Ya Ali' may have catapulted him to national fame, but there was much more to singer Zubeen Garg's larger-than-life persona that made lakhs mourn him since Friday when he died in Singapore.&nbsp;</p>
<p>His 38,000 songs in 40 languages and dialects, numerous films he acted in and directed, and stage shows may have mesmerised people across generations, but it was his irreverent outbursts, often replete with common slangs, that resonated more with people and made him an icon among generations, irrespective of language, religion, community, caste or creed.</p>
<p>Zubeen ranted against the hypocrisy of established institutions, called a spade a spade which often led to controversies, made politically incorrect but honest statements on issues of the day, extended a helping hand to the poor and the troubled, passionately loved nature and animals&mdash;all these and many more of his personality traits locked in his frail frame of steel inspired millions and made them his ardent fans.</p>
<p>His antics on stage, often in an inebriated state, irked many who expected a proper behaviour from a popular artiste and the elder generation, used to the lilting socially relevant music of Bhupen Hazarika and other music legends of Assam, was initially hesitant to accept his music, which created a fresh, new and path-breaking trend.</p>
<p>Zubeen, however, marched on undeterred, cocking a snook at his critics, and went on to create music with lyrics that embodied passion, romance, beauty, loss, desolation, hope and much more, converting critics to admirers.</p>
<p>He took on the might of the proscribed outfit, ULFA, when he defied their diktat of not singing Hindi songs during Bihu functions, took on the traditional institution of 'Sattras' saying that the head of these Vaishnav monasteries should not be called 'Prabhu Ishwar' (Gods) as they, too, are mere human beings, asked present Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to give him a copyright fee for imitating his style of dancing on stage during election campaigns, was at the forefront of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and there are many more from Zubeen's repertoire that endeared him to the masses.</p>
<p>There was a section that tried to give a political colour to his singing for BJP during the last elections but he shut them up by saying that he had also sung for Congress on many occasions and "I am non-political. I am a singer, will sing for anyone who pays me".</p>
<p>His well-wishers, on many occasions, requested him not to make controversial statements, but he said that he cannot stop himself from speaking what he feels, and his spontaneous- 'Ghenta, kakou khatir no koru' (Damn! I don&rsquo;t have to please anyone) struck a chord with the younger generation in search of an icon.</p>
<p>Zubeen's tender and emotional side came to the fore when he spoke about his deceased mother and younger sister, Jonki Borthakur, who died in a road accident while returning from a Bihu function, popular poet late Hiren Bhattacharya, his pet dogs and the many animals and birds he rescued, giving each a name with his surname attached to it.</p>
<p>It was these contradictions in him that led to the creation of music that touched the hearts of all, irrespective of social, economic, religious and political affiliations, with lakhs of people thronging the Arjun Bhogeswar Sports Complex here, where his body lay in state since Sunday after arriving from Singapore, where he died while swimming in the sea.</p>
<p>The 52-year old singer, music composer, film director and actor, named Jibon Borthakur by his family in his childhood, went on to become Zubeen Garg with his mother, inspired by the famed Zubin Mehta&rsquo;s music, calling him so but the Brahmin surname was discarded by the singer who claimed he was an atheist and believed in the "religion of humanity".</p>
<p>He began singing from the age of three and be it popular Assamese or western, folk or classical-based songs, Garg gave voice to varied genres of music and excelled in all, with most later year singers emulating his inimitable style. The Bollywood music industry beckoned him in the mid-1990s and belted out many popular numbers in films and albums alike but was soon disenchanted, returning to Assam to climb the height of popularity with his numerous songs.</p>
<p>He often said that he could have stayed on in Mumbai (he still has a house there) and made a lot of money, but he returned as he felt a responsibility towards his people.</p>
<p>Zubeen's ill-health, mostly due to an erratic lifestyle, was a matter of concern for many, and he was hospitalised several times during the last few years.</p>
<p>His fans and well-wishers often admonished him to take care of his health but he always came out of the hospital with a smile on his face, saying, "nothing will happen to me, I still have many dreams to fulfil".</p>
<p>Zubeen often talked about the many songs he was yet to sing and compose, the films he wanted to make, write his autobiography titled 'Eucalyptus', about the house he was building overlooking the mighty River Brahmaputra, the many more people he wanted to help as their happiness brought a smile to his lips and several other unrealised dreams which has been cut short by his death.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Prepping for an action movie is becoming increasingly more challenging with each passing year, month and day, says superstar Salman Khan, who terms his next feature one of the most "physically demanding" projects of his career.</p>
<p>Salman, who will turn 60 in December this year, is pouring his heart and soul into "Battle of Galwan" directed by Apoorva Lakhia of "Shootout at Lokhandwala" fame.</p>
<p>The much anticipated war drama is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict between India and China.</p>
<p>"It is physically demanding. Every year, every month, every day it gets more and more difficult. I've to give more time now (for training). Earlier, I would do it (train) in one or two weeks, now I'm running, kicking, punching, and all that stuff. This film demands that," Salman told PTI.</p>
<p>"For instance, in 'Sikandar' the action was different, the character was different. But this is physically difficult. Besides, shooting in Ladakh, in high altitude and in cold water (is another challenge)," he added.</p>
<p>The actor said the team will be heading to Ladakh later this month for a shooting schedule.</p>
<p>"When I was signing the film, I thought it's amazing but it's a very, very difficult film to do. I've 20 days (of work) in Ladakh and then seven to eight days (of shoot) in cold water. We will be shooting this month," he added.</p>
<p>According to the makers, the film is based on one of India&rsquo;s most brutal battles, fought at over 15,000 feet above sea level without a single bullet being fired.</p>
<p>Twenty Indian Army personnel laid down their lives in the Galwan valley clashes in June 2020 that marked the most serious military conflicts between India and China in decades.</p>
<p>"Battle of Galwan" will not have the traditional Eid release, a date often associated with Khan's films, but instead arrive in theatres in January, Salman said.</p>
<p>The actor also confirmed that a sequel to his 2015 movie "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is in the works.</p>
<p>"I liked that movie (first of the film). It will kind of have the same theme and emotional beat. But it will be a different film," Salman said about the film, which completes 10 years on Thursday.</p>
<p>The Kabir Khan-directed movie was about a Lord Hanuman devotee who embarks on a mission to reunite a mute Pakistani girl with her family across the border.</p>
<p>The actor, a cycling and biking enthusiast, was speaking on the sidelines of a press event for season two of Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL). He is the brand ambassador of ISRL.</p>
<p>"I've always been a rider, from cycles to motorbikes, I've loved them all. Though I don't get to ride as often now," the actor said but cautioned fans against racing on the roads.</p>

<p>A video showing the singer standing on the edge of the sea link bridge has been widely circulated on social media platforms.</p>
<p>According to the officials, an onlooker had seen him climbing on the edge of the sea link bridge and two of his associates shooting the performance.</p>
<p>After performing the stunt, the group left the bridge in their car.</p>
<p>The onlooker, who had also recorded the incident, sent the video to the Mumbai Police following which they tried to locate the car with the help of its number plate.</p>
<p>During the investigation, it came to light that the man standing on the edge of the bridge was singer Desai, the official said.</p>
<p>The Bandra police here on Tuesday registered a case against the singer and his two associates under sections 285 (danger or obstruction in public way), 281 (rash driving), 125 (endangering life or personal safety of others) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, he said.</p>
<p>The police were trying to contact the singer and his two associates for further legal action in the case, the official said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The makers of "Ramayana", billed as an ambitious cinematic event, on Thursday unveiled the first glimpse of the upcoming mythological epic, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles.</p>
<p>Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra&rsquo;s Prime Focus Studios and DNEG, in association with Yash&rsquo;s Monster Mind Creations, the film is a two-part live-action saga set 5,000 years ago and rooted in one of Indian mythology&rsquo;s most enduring epics, a press release said.</p>

<p>The first part is slated to release worldwide in IMAX during Diwali 2026, with part two following in Diwali 2027.</p>
<p>"Ramayana" features Ranbir as Lord Rama, "KGF" star Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita as Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lord Lakshman.</p>
<p>The film's crew includes renowned international artists, including Oscar-winning composers Hans Zimmer and A R Rahman, who are collaborating on the score.</p>
<p>The action sequences are choreographed by Hollywood stunt veterans Terry Notary and Guy Norris, and the film&rsquo;s visual world is being shaped by production designers Ravi Bansal of "Dune 2" fame and Ramsey Avery as "Captain America".</p>

<p>Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the official organisation which administers the Hollywood Walk of Fame, shared the news on its official Instagram page on Wednesday night.</p>
<p>"A new group of entertainment professionals in the categories of Motion Pictures, Television, Live Theatre/Live Performance, Radio, Recording, and Sports Entertainment have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by the Walk of Fame Selection Panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce," the post read.</p>
<p>"We are honoured to welcome you to the Walk of Fame Class of 2026!" it added.</p>
<p>Padukone will receive the star along with a host of popular Hollywood actors including Emily Blunt, Timothee Chalamet, Marion Cotillard, Stanley Tucci, Rami Malek, Rachel McAdams, Demi Moore, filmmakers Chris Columbus and Tony Scott.</p>

<p>"Silaa" will also star Karan Veer Mehra, who has appeared in shows and movies such as "Ragini MMS 2", "Mere Dad Ki Maruti", "Blood Money" and "Sacred Games".</p>
<p>The movie, which is presented by Zee Studios, is produced by Blue Lotus Pictures, Stark Entertainment, and Innovations India.</p>
<p>Besides "Silaa", Rane will also star in "Ek Deewane ki Deewaniyat" alongside actor Sonam Bajwa as well as "Sanam Teri Kasam 2", a sequel to his 2016 film.</p>
<p>Khateeb was most recently seen in "The Diplomat", co-starring with John Abraham. She also has an upcoming project alongside Neetu Kapoor and Kapil Sharma, tentatively titled "Dadi Ki Shaadi".</p>

<p>Actor Tusshar Kapoor on Wednesday said it's natural for audiences to have high expectations from star children but they are on their own once their first film is released.</p>
<p>Kapoor, son of veteran star Jeetendra and producer Shobha Kapoor, was speaking at the trailer launch of his new film "Kapkapii".</p>
<p>"There is no pressure from the audience. I feel they like a movie for what the movie is. They like an actor or an actress for the kind of work that they put in. Our hard work, talent, screen presence, all these things and they don't compare or judge enough. Before the first film there were expectations.</p>
<p>"But thereafter you're on your own and the work has to do the talking. It's also about how you conduct yourself, how you choose the right projects, where you take your career, your attitude towards your work," the actor told reporters here.</p>
<p>Also starring Shreyas Talpade, "Kapkapii" is a horror comedy, which is the last film by director Sangeet Sivan, who died in 2024.</p>
<p>Kapoor, who did his first comedy film "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum" in 2005 with Sivan, credited the filmmaker for teaching him everything he knows about the genre.</p>
<p>"My first comedy film was with him 'Kya Kool Hai Hum' and before that I didn't do any comedy films. Whatever I have learnt about comedy first I learnt from him. He gave me a role of a lifetime then and he's given me a role of a lifetime now," he said.</p>
<p>"Kapkapii" also features Sonia Rathee, Siddhi Idnani, Abishek Kumar, Jay Thakkar, Varun Pandey, Dherendra Tiwari, and Dinkar Sharma.</p>

Some of his most recent films, 'Radhe', 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan', and 'Sikandar', demonstrate just how true this is!&nbsp;</p>
<p>One aspect of these films is that his character somehow makes an appearance in every scene. Even if he isn't present in a particular scene, the other characters seem to have compelled to maintain his presence through their gestures! The fact that the other actors seem to be competing with one another in every scene to win over 'Bhaijaan' is a more serious and dangerous worry, albeit!&nbsp;</p>
<p>Stars and megastars have always had an impact on mainstream Hindi cinema. Even though the main reason people go to the movies is to see their favorite celebrities, it is irrefutable that the star's importance frequently outbalances that of the character they play. But, the question remains. To what extent, though? To the stretch that the celebrity himself is unable to control his own image?</p>
<p>In December 2025, Salman Khan will celebrate his 60th birthday. Everyone is aware that aging will show on his face in films, and hardly any amount of technical skill can camouflage that. The fact that Salman Khan has never been hailed as one of Bollywood's best actors may also be easy to accept.</p>
<p>But despite all of this, he has an unquestionably huge on-screen persona and a special way of enthralling audiences with his dancing&nbsp; ( remember his unorthodox moves in "Munni Badnam Hui"!) or dialogues (&ldquo;Mujhpe ek ehsaan karna, mujhpe koi ehsaan mat karna" or "Mere Baare Me Itna Mat Sochna&hellip; Dil Me Aata Hun Samajh Me Nahi&rdquo; or &ldquo;Hum tum mein itne ched karenge ki confuse ho jaoge ki saans kahan se le aur p**in kahan se.")- that personifies his effortless charisma- leading even his most eager critics to applaud!</p>
<p>Are those days really over? The fans' favourite 'Bhaijaan' and Bollywood's cherished 'Prem' seem to have become only a shadow of his former selves. Is he able to return? Salman Khan's past inspires hope that he will return! But without a fundamental shift (as much as possible for 'Bhaijaan'! At least if he understands that things can't go on like this, &nbsp;that something has to change and that what is happening cannot continue, then there&rsquo;s a chance!) his battle will be extremely difficult in the absence of strong scripts and direction. It will be interesting to see how well he manages to overcome these challenges despite having some real turbulances in his personal life, too. &nbsp;</p>
<p>The good news is that the movie 'Andaz Apna Apna', which was first released thirty years ago, will be re-released on April 25. Salman Khan and Aamir Khan's comedy classic has already earned the title of 'cult film.'</p>
<p>Given that thirty years ago Salman Khan wasn't 'Bhaijaan' and lacked that swagger, I am not sure how much the current bunch of fans of 'Bhaijaan' will enjoy watching the modest Salman Khan dance to "Yeh Raat Aur Ye Doori" with those hopeful, dreamy eyes from the 1990s. Yet, it's safe to say that many people who long for that era will become a little more nostalgic and fall in love with the lead character in 'Maine Pyar Kiya' after seeing 'Andaz Apna Apna' on the big screen once again.</p>
