Shiv Thakare, who gained national recognition after he appeared on the reality show &lsquo;Bigg Boss 16&rsquo;, opened up about his casting couch experience in a recent interview. He shared that after coming to Mumbai, he realised that not just women, but even men should be scared of predators in the city.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Shiv recalled an incident where he went for an audition and was suggestively told by a man to come to a massage centre after that. &lsquo;I once went for an audition in Aram Nagar and he took me to the bathroom and said, &lsquo;Yahan pe massage centre hai (There is a massage centre here)&rsquo;. I didn&rsquo;t get the connection between an audition and a massage centre. He told me, &lsquo;Ek baar aap aao yaha audition ke baad. Aap workout bhi karte ho&hellip; (Come here after the audition. You work out too&hellip;)&rsquo; I just left the place, since he was a casting director and I didn&rsquo;t want to take any pangas (trouble). I am no Salman Khan. But I realised there is no discrimination between men and women when it comes to this (casting couch).&rsquo;
He narrated another incident where a woman asked him to come and audition at 11 pm and when he tried to refuse, she asked him if he does not want to work.
&lsquo;There was a ma&rsquo;am in Four Bungalows. She would tell me, &lsquo;Maine isko banaya hai, maine usko banaya hai (I&rsquo;ve made this person a star)&rsquo;. She was calling me for an audition at 11 in the night. Itna bhola toh nahi hoon main ki (I&rsquo;m not that innocent that) I won&rsquo;t understand what auditions happen at night. So, I told her that I have some work and I cannot make it. To this, she said, &lsquo;Kaam nahi karna? (Don&rsquo;t you want to work?)&rsquo; &lsquo;You won&rsquo;t get work in the industry&rsquo; and other such things. So they would demotivate you and manipulate you. But I would never get bothered by it,&rsquo; he said.
Shiv also shared how a few people tried to get money out of him in exchange for a role. &lsquo;A lot of people have asked me for money, saying you give us money and we will get you good gigs. I just knew this basic thing that if I don&rsquo;t fit in a character, no one can push me for a role,&rsquo; he said.
Shiv Thakare was the first runner-up on &lsquo;Bigg Boss&rsquo;. He previously participated in &lsquo;Bigg Boss&rsquo; Marathi and &lsquo;MTV Roadies Rising&rsquo;.

An FIR has been registered here against Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's personal assistant on a complaint from party member and actor Archana Gautam's father who alleged that his daughter was threatened with death, police said on Wednesday.
On a complaint from Gautam's father, Sandeep Singh has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult modesty of a woman), Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rohit Singh Sajwan said.
He has also been charged under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the SSP said and added that the case has been registered at the Partapur police station.
In his complaint, Gautam Buddha said Singh had called his daughter to Raipur in Chhattisgarh during the party's plenary session last month saying Priyanka Gandhi wanted to meet her. There he misbehaved with her and also "threatened with death", he said in his complaint.
Gautam Buddha also alleged that Singh made casteist remarks against Archana Gautam, police said and added that he claimed a video of the incident can be obtained from a camera person in Raipur.
Actor-turned-politician and Big Boss-fame Archana Gautam had unsuccessfully contested from the Hastinapur reserved seat in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls on a Congress ticket and was considered a Dalit face of the party in the region.

National Commission for Scheduled Caste has sought action against 'Bigg Boss 16' contestant Vikkas Manaktala for his alleged casteist remark against co-contestant Archana Gautam, according to news agency PTI.
The remark was made during an episode that was aired on TV Wednesday.
A notice has been issued to the Maharashtra government, state Police, Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Endemol India Private Ltd, Viacom18 private limited and Colors TV. The NSCS said sou-moto cognizance is based on the information received via social media regarding Vikkas calling Archana a &lsquo;low caste person&rsquo;.
According to Indian law, the NCSC said, &lsquo;This is clearly an offence punishable under SC/ST Act, and the Commission has decided to investigate into the matter in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it under Article 338 of the Constitution of India. You are hereby requested to submit action taken report to the undersigned within seven days of receipt of this notice&rsquo;.
For the unversed, Archana Gautam had unsuccessfully contested the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections on a Congress ticket.

Sherlyn Chopra filed a complaint against #MeToo accused and &lsquo;Bigg Boss 16&rsquo; contestant Sajid Khan at Mumbai&rsquo;s Juhu police station on October 28. She talked to a section of media stationed outside the police station and alleged that Salman Khan is backing Sajid and she is not receiving much help from the cops.
In a video, Sherlyn said, &lsquo;Sajid Khan ke sar par kisi aur nahin, Salman Khan sir ka hanth hain. Unke hontein, Sajid Khan ka koi baal tak baka nahin kar sakta hai (Sajid Khan is being protected by Salman Khan. No one can touch him).&rsquo;
&lsquo;Maine Assistant police commissioner ko call kiya and bola &lsquo;Juhu Police meri madad nahin kar rahi hain. TV actor Karanvir Bohra, who is busy promoting his music video 'Jism Se' with co-star Poonam Pandey, was asked about 'Bigg Boss 16' at a press conference. The actor said he supports Sajid, Abdu Rozik and MC Stan as contestants and feels anyone who has committed a mistake in the past, deserves a second chance.

Sajid Khan was accused by multiple women of sexual harassment during the MeToo wave. He stepped down as the director of 'Housefull 4' following the allegations and was banned from the industry for one year by the FWICE.
Actor Sherlyn Chopra, who was one of the women to have accused Sajid, will be filing a statement against filmmaker at Juhu Police station on Saturday, October 29. The police will then decide further course of action.

Manya believes that she was probably &lsquo;too nice and vulnerable&rsquo; on the show, and she would like to change in case she is given a second chance to enter the house.
Manya was loved by majority of the audience, but she was also called out by many fans, including Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan, for continuously boasting about being Miss India. When she was asked if she was being arrogant about her title, Manya defended herself and said that people just noticed her words but did not understand what led to her outburst. She said she was being shamed for her look and background.

Actor Sherlyn Chopra filed a police complaint against filmmaker Sajid Khan in Mumbai on Thursday, October 20. The complaint has been filed to bring to notice a painful incident that took place in 2005 where she was molested. Sherlyn has also written to Union Minister Anurag Thakur to stop &lsquo;Bigg Boss 16&rsquo; telecast until Sajid is not ousted.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Sherlyn could be heard saying to paps, &lsquo;I have come to the police station to file a complaint against <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/throwback-to-when-sajid-khan-talked-about-his-break-up-with-gauahar-khan-the-video-is-going-viral-1666007213633">Sajid Khan</a>, who is a #MeToo accused. During the MeToo movement, Sherlyn had accused Sajid of allegedly flashing his private parts during a meeting at his Mumbai residence. &nbsp;
Sherlyn had shared a note on Twitter as well, saying, &lsquo;When I had met him in April 2005, a few days after my father's demise, he had taken his penis out of his pants and had asked me to feel it. I remember having told him that I know how a penis feels like and that the purpose of my meeting with him was not to feel or rate his penis. He has the &lsquo;superstars&rsquo; of Bollywood to vouch for his &lsquo;character&rsquo;. It&rsquo;s my word against theirs. The Bollywood mafia is a strong syndicate.&rsquo;
Sherlyn said the makers of &lsquo;Bigg Boss&rsquo; are not paying any heed to her request to remove Sajid from the house. She added that the channel does not understand the pain of women who have suffered because of him.
Following the MeToo allegations, Sajid had stepped down as the director of 'Housefull 4&rsquo;, and he was served a one-year ban by the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees).
