Director Anubhav Sinha&rsquo;s &lsquo;Bheed&rsquo; seems to be struggling at the box office. The film, which shows the struggles of migrant workers after a nationwide lockdown was imposed during the first wave of COVID-19, barely managed to attract any audience on its opening day.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Bheed' earned Rs 15 lakh on its first day. The film has got mixed reviews and lags behind filmmaker&rsquo;s previous release.
&lsquo;Bheed&rsquo; also got into controversy after the release of its first trailer. The audience didn&rsquo;t like the comparison between the mass immigration that took place during the COVID-19 lockdown and during the 1947 partition. Because of strict censorship, T-Series also distanced itself from the film.
&lsquo;Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, &rsquo; that released on March 8, is doing well at the box office. According to reports, Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor starrer earned Rs 3.39 cr on its 18th day. Its total collection has now come up to Rs 125 cr approximately.
While, 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway' which released last week, did a business of Rs 80 lakh on its eighth day.

Now, actor Swara Bhasker has reacted to these edits. She tweeted, 'Nothing stings like facts. In India, we have a new affliction: Allergy to facts. #bheed #censorship.'
As per the list, a bunch of swear words and some nudity was removed from the film. One of the edits includes removal of 'all the (direct and indirect) speeches and references of the Hon'ble PM (voice-over).' In addittion, &lsquo;Pradhanmantri was replaced with Mantri and voice-over of the Delhi CM replaced, wherever they occurred/appeared (also removed from sub-titles).&rsquo; There are several more edits that were made.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film shows how migrant workers were stuck without basic needs after Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a nationwide lockdown in an effort to contain the COVID-19 pandemic and their struggles as they attempted to find their way home.

Veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, who is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film 'Bheed', has reacted to the criticism that the movie is receiving. He expressed disappointment as the trailer of his film was tagged as 'anti-India' on social media.
In an exclusive conversation with Indian Express, the actor said, 'You must realise that in our society, which is what you&rsquo;ll also see in our film before a drop of rain happens, people will announce monsoons. We are so impatient and opinionated. Instead of being patient and saying, Ok, let&rsquo;s reflect upon what is happening, we jump the gun. You can opine, but first, watch the film?'
He added, 'It&rsquo;s ridiculous that one small teaser, and you start saying it&rsquo;s a political film. It&rsquo;s an analytical film that talks about the mindset of our society, how we think, and how we reflect on a given situation! Very few films have shown authorities in a positive sense, the way this film has shown.'
