Kevin Conroy, who was best known for voicing Batman on Warner Bros. 'Batman: The Animated Series', has died at the age of 66. The actor and voice over artiste reportedly fought a brief battle with cancer. Kevin&rsquo;s 'Batman: The Animated Series' co-star Diane Pershing first broke the news of his death, and later it was confirmed by Warner Bros Animation.&nbsp;
A statement released by Warner Bros, Mark Hamil, the voice of Joker opposite Kevin&rsquo;s Batman in many projects said, &lsquo;Kevin was perfection. He was one of my favorite people on the planet, and I loved him like a brother. He truly cared for the people around him &mdash;his decency shone through everything he did. Every time I saw him or spoke with him, my spirits were elevated.&rsquo;&nbsp;
The writer of &lsquo;Batman: The Animated Series&rsquo; took to Twitter and posted a picture of Batman from the show to pay tribute to the star. Many other actors have also reacted to Kevin&rsquo;s demise.&nbsp;
Kevin started his career as a live action actor in the 80s. He made his &nbsp;soap opera debut with &lsquo;Another World&rsquo; and then made his way to theatre. He first voiced the role of Batman aka Bruce Wayne in &lsquo;Batman: The Animated Series&rsquo; in 1992. The credit for the trend of a heavier voice for Batman as opposed to his alter ego Bruce Wayne is in the name of Kevin. &nbsp;
Kevin has been a prominent LGBTQ activist. He is survived by his wife Vaughn C. Williams.

A new variant of the COVID-19 virus has been discovered even when the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic reels. A team of  US scientists have discovered coronavirus variant namesly Khosta-2 in Russian bats.
Reports suggest that the virus is capable of infecting humans and has been shown to interact with the ACE2 receptor, which is similar to the entry receptor of SARS-CoV-2.
Indian Council of Medical Research on the other hand has confirmed no Khosta virus cases in the country.Senior scientist at National Institute of Virology Pragya Yadav told ANI that "there are no cases of human infections with Khosta viruses have been reported yet." Though she did not rule out the possibility of Zoonotic spillover of the sarbecoviruses from animals to humans.
The Khosta-1 and Khosta-2  were identified in Russian bats in late 2020, but did not pose a threat to human beings, as per Financial Express report.
The report further suggested that Khosta 1 posed low risk to humans, while its second variation could be troublesome for mankind. "There is in fact a potent risk of Khosta 2 recombining with a second virus-like SARS-CoV-2.
Meanwhile, India has expressed assertiveness over repearedness to deal with such viral pathogens. "We will be able o handle public health emergency on reemergence of any viral pathogen in India," Yadav told ANI
