Shaun Marsh will end his long cricket journey after the BBL game against Sydney Thunders.

Former Australian batter Shaun Marsh will conclude his 15-year-long cricket career with the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) clash between Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder on January 17th.&nbsp;
The 40-year-old parts ways with professional cricket after representing Australia in 38 Tests and 73 ODIs.
Following a match-winning half-century against Melbourne Stars on January 13th, Marsh announced his decision to retire amid an impressive show of form in the ongoing Big Bash League season.&nbsp;
Marsh thanked his Melbourne Renegades teammates and said that he met some great people over the last five years and the friendships he had made will last a lifetime.
&ldquo;Our members and fans are some of the most passionate out there and I'm so thankful for their support over the journey. Stick with us, there's a huge amount of talent in this group and I have no doubt they'll lead this group back to the top,&rdquo; Marsh said while announcing his retirement.

Rohit Sharma's men ended Australia's reign after 15 months at the top of the ICC rankings. The two sides will face each other in the World Test Championship final next month, and India had recently beaten the Aussies 2-1 in Border-Gavaskar Trophy.&nbsp;
Before the annual rankings update, Australia were top with 122 points while India trailed them by 3 points. But now, with series completed since May 2020 only taken into account, India have 121 point and they have leapfrogged the Kangaroos, who are at 116.
Team India now occupy the top spot in both Tests &amp; T20Is, while they are ranked 3rd in ODIs.

Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar says hard-hitting batter Suryakumar Yadav is "perfectly equipped" to play Test cricket.
In an interview with PTI, Tendulkar said Surya has "made an incredible impression around the globe. The Master Blaster further stated that "whoever follows Surya, they fall in love with his ability and the way he thinks."
While not getting involved in the selection debate, Test cricket's highest run-scorer Tendulkar said that someone of Suryakumar's calibre should be considered along with KL Rahul and Shubman Gill. He further added that all three are capable enough to walk into the team.

Beth Mooney, who won the Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year, also took home the Belinda Clark medal, the award given to the Best Women's Cricketer in Australia.

While Steve Smith made history with his fourth Allan Border medal at the Australian Cricket awards, David Warner was chosen as the Men's ODI cricketer of the Year. Marcus Stoinis bagged the honours in T20Is and Usman Khawaja won the inaugural Shane Warne Award for the best Men's Test player of the year.
Among the women cricketers, there was double delight for Beth Mooney, who was chosen as the Women's ODI Cricketer of the year and also won the Belinda Clark award given to the best women's player of the year.
Tahlia McGrath, who was named the ICC Women's T20I Cricketer of the Year, took home its Australian equivalent at the gala event in Sydney.

Cricket Australia still negotiating over India's quarantine

There may be just 2-3 weeks left before the Indian team flies to Australia for their high-profile tour, but the Australian Cricket Board is still&nbsp;negotiating over India's quarantining Down Under. In a statement the board said that this is an extremely detailed and complex plan that places the health and safety of the community,&nbsp;players and staff as paramount and there is clarification required&nbsp;in order to finalise arrangements. Team India is scheduled to quarantine in Brisbane, where they are due to play 3 T20I and as many ODIs in Queensland in late November&nbsp;and early December, before moving on to Adelaide for the first of the 4 Tests. Indian team and many Australian cricketers will directly travel Down Under from UAE&nbsp;straight after the IPL.
