As per the latest report, Dukes, the manufacturing company of the ball that was used in the Test match in England is set to investigate the matter.

The fifth and final Test of the Ashes 2023 at the Oval featured a highly controversial moment with hosts England deciding to replace the ball on Day 4, which several Australian players felt wasn't required at that instant.
Australia protested that the new ball, which was introduced after 36 overs, was harder and shinier than it should have been.
As per the latest report, Dukes, the manufacturing company of the ball that was used in the Test match in England is set to investigate the matter.
"I'm going to investigate myself, because it affects me ... my name is at stake so it's important they don't misallege something wrong with the ball," Dilip Jajodia, the owner of British Cricket Limited, the company which manufactures the Dukes ball, told Code Sports.
The decision proved to be crucial in determining the result of the final Test as Australia lost several wickets in short succession and ultimately lost by 49 runs.

Australian maestro Steve Smith's almost run-out on Day 2 of the final Ashes Test has become a point of contention in the cricket world.&nbsp;
In the evening session, Smith while taking a second run, had to dive to reach the crease but it seemed he fell short when Bairstow dislodged the bail from the grooves.
Smith was on his way back to the pavillion when after several minutes of careful study, third umpire Nitin Menon reversed the decision.&nbsp;
According to replays of the moment, Bairstow had knocked off one of the bails with his arm rather than the ball and after that, Smith was already within the crease line.&nbsp; Joining the discussion over Smith's close call, Indian veteran R Ashwin lauded Menon for his decision in a tweet saying, 'What&rsquo;s with the Ashes and substitute fielders. Have to applaud Nitin Menon for making the right decision.' The spinner's tweet also referenced the 2005 Ashes when Australia's Ricky Ponting was run out by substitute fielder Gary Pratt.&nbsp; English substitute George Ealham was denied his own 'Pratt' moment on Wednesday when the third umpire declared the run-out void.&nbsp; MCC rules state that, 'The wicket is broken when at least one bail is completely removed from the top of the stumps, or one or more stumps is removed from the ground.'&nbsp; Following widespread discussion over the matter, the MCC also posted a clarification with the run-out video on their Twitter handle.

It will be a tough one to take for Ben Stokes' men as rain played spoilsport for England on the 5th day of the 4th Test and saw the match end in a draw and helped the Aussies retain The Ashes.
With the Three Lions needing just 5 wickets for a win on the final day, rain interrupted play, forcing the match to be called off at the Old Trafford.
As a result, England has failed to claim the Urn since 2017-18 as Australia has had it since then. It is the 3rd-longest unbeaten series streak for a team at the Ashes in the post-war era.

Zak Crawley's remarkable 189 left Australia stunned and England on the path to a potential series comeback on the second day of the fourth Ashes 2023 Test.
Crawley's outstanding performance included the highest score by an England batter in a home Ashes Test in 26 years, giving the hosts a golden opportunity to level the series at 2-2. His innings, which comprised 21 fours and three sixes, powered England to a commanding 384/4, securing a lead of 67 runs.
The young batsman first partnered with Moeen Ali, who scored an impressive 54 at number three, and then built an explosive double-century stand with former captain Joe Root, who narrowly missed a century, being dismissed for 84.
Crawley's batting display simply dismantled the Australian bowling attack. His acceleration from 50 to 100 runs in just 26 balls marked England's fourth-fastest century in Ashes cricket, achieved in a mere 93 deliveries.
During the session between lunch and tea, Crawley blazed an astounding 106 runs from 82 balls, while his partnership with Root accumulated 206 runs in only 186 deliveries. The Australian team struggled to contain Crawley's onslaught, leading to ragged fielding and fatigued bowlers.
Although Crawley and Root fell victim to deliveries that kept low, Harry Brook and Ben Stokes laid a strong foundation for further attacking the following morning, closing the day with an unbroken partnership of 33 runs.

The rule states that the ball is considered dead when it is evident to the bowler's end umpire that both the fielding side and the batsmen at the wicket no longer regard it as in play.
Australia went on to win the second Test at Lord's by 43 runs, taking a 2-0 lead in the Ashes 2023 series.

The bad news for England in comfortably scoring 278 runs was that all four wickets to fall were gifted to Australia.
England batted so serenely through the middle session and to an hour past tea &mdash; without even Bazballing it &mdash; that Australia spread its fielders, vacating the slips in desperate need of a second wicket.
And Australia's fortunes worsened when Nathan Lyon, its only wicket-taker at that point and the teammate who seemingly never gets hurt, injured his right calf while running to a ball in the field and hobbled away with help. He didn't return and the manner of his exit suggested he may not return for the rest of what is his 100th successive test.
Without Lyon's spin to wear down England, Australia changed its tactics by tempting England with the short ball.
England took the bait.
Ollie Pope, Ben Duckett and world No. 1 Joe Root recklessly went after short balls and gave catches behind square.
Pope spoiled a flowing 97-run stand with Duckett when his pull at Cameron Green sailed straight to Steve Smith at deep backward square leg. Pope made 42 off 63 balls.
In the same over, Root had 1 when he gloved a Green bouncer to wicketkeeper Alex Carey and Australia duly celebrated raucously. But Green committed a no-ball, his fifth of six on the day.
Root used his life on 1 to pass Allan Border into 10th on the all-time test run-scorers list.
But Australia minimized the missed chance by getting Root out for 10, when his pull at Mitchell Starc was brilliantly caught by a diving Smith at backward square. Root reviewed the catch but Smith fairly got his fingers underneath.
Before Root was dismissed, Duckett agonizingly missed his second test century at Lord's this month when he pulled at Josh Hazlewood and top-edged to David Warner at deep fine leg. Duckett had 98 off 134 balls, including nine boundaries.
After the mad hour from Lyon limping away to Root's dismissal, Harry Brook and Ben Stokes calmly steered England to stumps against conventional fields, although Brook got a life on 25 when he pulled Pat Cummins to square leg where Marnus Labuschagne dropped an overhead catch.
Brook was on 45 and Stokes on 17 in an unbroken stand of 56.
The only wicket to fall among England's first 188 runs was Zak Crawley's in the middle session. Crawley was outsmarted by Lyon and stumped by Carey down the leg side for 48.
Crawley's partnership of 91 with Duckett was the best by England openers against Australia since 2011 when Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook made 98. That was 32 Ashes tests ago.
Travis Head's off-breaks compensated for Lyon's absence. Labuschagne's drop made Cummins the only pacer to go wicketless but he was the most economical.
Starc was picked ahead of Scott Boland in the only change by Australia after winning at Edgbaston last week, and Starc finished the day better than he started. His first seven overs conceded 55 runs, but the next five overs went for only 20 with the big wicket of Root.
As good as the conditions were for England's batters &mdash; slow pitch, no seam or swing under sunny skies &mdash; they were just as good for the England bowlers in the morning when cloud cover and lingering humidity from overnight rain made the ball a threat.
Smith started the day on 85 and Australia five down. When they were seven down, he made his next four scoring shots boundaries to reach his 32nd test century from 169 balls.
It was his 12th hundred against England, and eighth in England. Of all the visitors to England, only Don Bradman has more centuries. The 32 tied him with former captain Steve Waugh at 11th on the all-time list, and he overtook Waugh's 3,173 runs for fourth on the Ashes list, behind only Bradman, Jack Hobbs and Allan Border. The century was also three weeks after his 121 against India at the Oval in the World Test Championship final.
Smith was out for 110 after more than five hours, edging Josh Tongue to Duckett at gully.
Tongue, in his Ashes debut, took three wickets along with Ollie Robinson.

Smith anchored century stands with Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head after opening batters David Warner and Usman Khawaja set them up by surviving a tough morning and disruption from Just Stop Oil protesters.
Josh Tongue, in his Ashes debut, became the first England bowler to bowl out Australia's opening batsmen since 1968, and the first at Lord's since 1884.
Another lingering concern for England was No. 3 batter Ollie Pope, who injured his right shoulder making a stop after lunch and didn't return to the field. England said he was receiving ice treatment.
When Ben Stokes won the toss and chose to send in Australia, he would have expected to have a minimum of three wickets by lunch and be batting by the end of the day in England's bid to level the series.
Conditions for the bowlers were that good.
The strip was grassy, clouds covered Lord's all day, and the covers were removed only just before play began after a light drizzle left the air humid and perfect for England's all-pace attack to swing the ball. England was without a specialist spinner or spin-bowling allrounder for only the second time in 20 years.
The two highest test wicket-takers at Lord's, James Anderson and Stuart Broad, got plenty of movement on a pitch that was deceptively slow, but couldn't get a wicket, and wouldn't all day.
Anderson should have had Khawaja out on 1 to a catch at first slip but Joe Root grassed the laces-high chance.
Broad should have had Warner &mdash; whom he has dismissed 15 times &mdash; on 20 but Pope at fourth slip dropped a two-handed catch in front of him.
Warner's mood was lightened just five minutes after the match began when two climate activists ran onto the field to try and spread orange powder on the pitch. Neither got close.
England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow carried one man on his hip 50 metres back to the boundary, and the other was corralled away from the pitch by Stokes and Warner and captured by stewards.
What little orange powder fell in the outfield was quickly vacuumed. Bairstow changed clothes and play resumed five minutes later.
But the tension was gone and Warner was playful, drawing grins from his long-time nemesis Broad. Warner had his eighth fifty in England by lunch.

In doing so, they exacted revenge for Australia's famous two-run defeat on this ground 18 years ago, when the tailenders just fell short of reaching a target of 282.
Cummins, with 44 not out, and Lyon's unbeaten 16 took Australia to their narrowest Ashes win in terms of wickets since 1907.
England looked to be surging towards victory when captain Ben Stokes produced a magical slower ball to bowl Usman Khawaja for 65 and Joe Root held a stunning return catch off Alex Carey.
But as a breathless match entered its final hour, Cummins and Lyon swung the bat at England's short-ball plan to inch Australia closer.
Stokes almost dismissed Lyon with a flying catch for the ages when 37 were still needed, but the skipper lost control of the ball as he dived backwards at square leg.
